Do the Gunners really need another impressive creative attacking midfielder?
Arsenal are closing in on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.
The People says Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has been tracking the 23-year-old PSV Eindhoven midfielder for the last year.
Wenger hopes to land Afellay for £7 million. (The People)
Arsene Wenger has been tracking the impressive Dutch attacker for some time now so not sure why this rumour has decided to appear again, more than likely its a result of the injury to Samir Nasri but surely we have enough in his position to cover his loss, especially with Tomas Rosicky back and firing on all cylinders.
We have some money to play with, at least I hope we do, after selling Adebayor and Toure but it would seem another defender is needed more than more creative attacking options. The PSV man has a nice touch and scores his fair share of goals from midfield and out wide but then we have similar players in the form of Nasri/Rosicky/Arshavin so not sure this is the right time to push for Afellay, although its a move well worth considering in the long term there are more pressing issues to deal with.
