Anyone surprised by this latest episode from the self-destructive midfielder?

Joey Barton returned to action with Newcastle on Saturday as he came of the bench to help his side to a well deserved draw at the hawthorns. The hot-headed midfielder is known for his trouble making nature and it is reported he has been involved in yet another training ground bust up. The bust up is yet another twist in the clubs incredible fall from grace, and could spell the end of a controversial spell on Tyneside. Barton has spoken out about the clubs unstable situation with regards to management, ownership and player recruitment, this appears to have been the final straw for care-taker manager Chris Hughton. The rant was also aimed at the clubs Argentinean contingent, in which Barton hurled a barrage of abuse at Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez questioning the pair’s attitude and overall commitment to the club.
Although Barton may have gone about this in the wrong manor the ex Manchester city man appears to have a valid point, as the two South Americans looked far from interested in the tea-time draw with West-Brom. The midfielder is obviously not happy playing out side of the premiership however despite being linked with a move away from St James Park, the question begs to be answered does anybody want him?
He is no doubt a talented player however his behaviour both on and off the pitch is something many managers would understandably be put off by. Team moral and relations are also affected by the midfielders outspoken nature and this latest bust up is a prime example. Reports suggest Newcastle are working in an attempt to get the players contract terminated however whether there is any truth in this is yet to be confirmed. What ever happens the next few months are set to be a very interesting time for the unpredictable 26 year old, as many Newcastle fans wonder how many chances he will get till his last.
