Teenage talent signs long term Anfield deal.

Liverpool’s Spain youth international Daniel Pacheco has agreed a new three-year deal at Anfield.
The striker, 18, follows academy graduates Jay Spearing and Stephen Darby in penning renewed contracts.
Pacheco has yet to make his competitive debut for the Reds but was involved in their pre-season tours to Switzerland and the Far East. (BBC Sport)
It’s good to see some more good talent coming through the academy and having seen Daniel Pacheco in Pre-season action both this summer and last he does look like a player with great potential and along with the likes of Spearing, Darby, Nemeth and Kelly, Rafa appears to have the next wave of Liverpool talent set to come on nicely this season.
Clearly in the recessionary age we are now in a commitment to youth policies is in many ways a no brainer. It is far cheaper to bring on youngsters abilities through a sustained coaching process for a few years than to simply throw big wads of cash to bring in a player and Benitez appears to know this very well indeed, hence the improvement in home grown development. Perhaps the reticence of the American Owners to bankroll the club could well have one positive outcome then!
