Rafa is known to be an admirer
LIVERPOOL have made a cheeky enquiry about Aston Villa‘s young star James Milner.
Anfield boss Rafa Benitez is a big admirer of the emerging England winger but has received little in the way of encouragement.
Milner cost Villa £12million from Newcastle last August and has three years left on his contract.
And Villa manager Martin O’Neill has no intention of selling one of his prize assets.
Milner, 23, made his debut for the full England side against Holland on Wednesday and set up one of Jermain Defoe’s two goals in the 2-2 draw. (The Sun)
James Milner is a player who doesn’t get nearly enough plaudits and that may well be down to the fact that his career hasn’t taken in a move to one of the top four, but perhaps Rafa can remedy that?
The 23 year old burst on the scene whilst at Leeds and has now accumulated almost 300 top level appearances and can play on both wings but could well add some natural width to the Liverpool cause and whilst Martin O’Neill may not want to sell the England international perhaps he will have no choice if the former Newcastle United man felt a move to Anfield as a deal he couldn’t refuse.
