Roy Hodgson has told BBC Sport that he expects Fulham to complete the signing of Newcastle‘s Damien Duff by Monday.
“We are close. An agreement has been reached between the clubs, but there is still Damien’s personal terms to be worked out,” said the Cottagers boss.
“If the medical goes well I’m expecting everything to be finalised by the beginning of next week and he’s part of the squad from Monday onwards.”
Republic of Ireland winger Duff, 30, played under Hodgson at Blackburn.
“It’s great to be working with him again, a player I know well,” added Hodgson. “It’s added enormous quality to our team.” (BBC Sport)
This could work out to be a good bit of business by the shrewd Fulham boss. Damien Duff may not be the player who wowed the fans at Blackburn Rovers all those years ago but he still has a turn of pace and could help add some cutting edge to the Cottagers attack.
