Clarence Seedorf

Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti is ready to show his hand for Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf.

According to Il Giornale, Ancelotti is ready to return to his former club and ask for the 33-year-old midfielder. The ex-Milanista tried, but failed to land Andrea Pirlo, and he is now turning his attention to the Dutchman.

Seedorf was popular under Ancelotti during their seven years together at San Siro, and he was a key component in the team before the coach joined Chelsea during the summer. (Goal.com)

Now it may seem that Dutchman Clarence Seefdorf has been around for ages and that is basically because he never ages and as such will probably continue playing the beautiful game until he grows bored of it. Carlo Ancelotti has already greatly benefited from the talents of the midfielder, it was after all the Italian boss who brought him to the Inter Milan to AC (very short transfer that one) in 2002 and in the last seven years Seedorf has been a tireless performer leading the club to two Champions League successes and a Serie A title.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the former Real Madrid man decided that a move to the Premier League suited him, after all he has already proved such a success in his native Holland and in both Spain and Italy, so why not give the English game a shot?

A veteran of over 650 top tier games, Clarence can of course boast to being the only player to have won the European Cup (or Champions League) whilst at three different clubs, and that’s a fact that is well worth remembering next time you are at a pub quiz.

Even at 33 the Suriname born battler still has the legs for a couple more seasons at least. and its worth remembering that he has been a constant name on the starting eleven team sheet whilst under Carlo so is clearly a player the Chelsea boss knows and admires.
