Manchester United centerback Nemanja Vidic has been mooted as one of the names Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola is considering to reinforce his defensive area.
The 27-year-old defender, who joined the Red Devils from Spartak Moscow in January 2006, is regarded as a key member of the squad by coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
But despite the Scottish tactician’s reluctance to part company with Vidic, the Serbian is looking for pastures new, according to his agent.
“Vidic would be delighted to play at Barca as his dream is to go to the Spanish league,” Paolo Fabbri told RAC1.
“We have to analyze the situation but, being realistic, things are complicated at the moment.
“The team just lost Cristiano Ronaldo and [Carlos] Tevez and they do not want to lose another important piece of their starting XI once again.” (Goal.com)
Now, whilst it’s never a good idea to believe everything that you read, Nemanja Vidic has opened his mouth more than a few times and this does somewhat smack of his style. The Serbian defender has been immense since arrived at Old Trafford and can not under any circumstances be allowed to leave.
Sir Alex will make sure this comes to nothing but Vidic himself would do well to quell speculation by either changing his agent or placing this one in a sealed container for the rest of his career.
Jonny Evans may be coming along nicely and does indeed have a bright future but the combination of Rio and Nemanja is the strongest in the Premier League and perhaps one of the strongest in Europe and Ferguson will simply not entertain the notion of breaking that partnership up!

Yeh anything better than Manchester’s crapy rain weather i think that is his main concern.
But why Barca because they won the CL and totally outclassed the SCUM.
Without the match winner they are crap.
don’t think Rooney is good enough to fill Ronaldos shoes.
Finally realizes he signed for the wrong team.

One of my favourite players as a Red Devils supporter. This would be a bitter pill to swallow. To lose Ronaldo and Tevez was hard enough but now Vidic as well. Normally where their’s smoke their’s fire. It has been duelly noted that Nemanja’s wife is not happy in England and now his agent comes out and says this. Look for Barca to make a 25-30 million pitch for the Serbian Destroyer.

One of my favorite United players as well! Watching him recoil in fear and flop on his arse while Fernando Torres ran him down and scored and Old Trafford was the highlight of the year!

Should he go then fine!
I wouldn´t over joyed but these things happen and he has been a credit to the club and proved that Fergie was right to sign him in the 1st place.
Should he leave atleast he can leave knowing that he has contributed to a heck of alot and will leave a prem champion which is something that is hard to achieve and what was certainly a bigger highlight for me!
