The Tottenham manager travelled to Glasgow to watch the Scotland international in action in Tuesday night’s Champions League qualifying tie with Arsenal.
It is believed that, with much of his budget spent on Peter Crouch and the Sheffield United duo of Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker, Redknapp may need to offload at least one player if he is to add Brown to an already well-stocked central midfield.
David Bentley, a target for Aston Villa, would seem the most likely candidate to depart White Hart Lane, while it is believed the Villa manager Martin O’Neill is also keen to add Jermaine Jenas to his midfield.
Celtic would be loath to lose such a central figure but the Scottish side would be tempted should Redknapp raise his offer to around £10 million. (Daily Telegraph)
Harry Redknapp may well have been dissappointed with what he saw last night from Celtic’s Scott Brown as the former Hibernian man had a pretty poor game but thankfully the Tottenham boss is probably well aware that the midfielder is usually far more productive and as such may well still make a move for the 24 year old.
