Sotiros Kyrgiakos is a veteran who has enjoyed spells in his native Greece as well as in Germany and one double winning season in Scotland with Rangers, however luckily for us Liverpool fans he has only just turned 30 and not over a century old. I know we were looking for a Sami Hyypia replacement, a player who’s experience was varied and accomplished but buying a player who was able to experience the tail end of the Queen Victoria’s reign would’ve been a step too far!
