Wenger should seriously consider bringing this guy to the Emirates.

Football - Manchester United v Arsenal UEFA Champions League Semi Final First Leg

There will be some who believe that the Gunners have enough players of an attacking nature and who do not believe a move for Rafael Van Der Vaart makes sense, but I beg to differ.

The adaptable attacking midfielder who could well prove a very intelligent acquisition and one who can play in a number of positions and take some of the pressure from our captain whilst giving the club another angle to our attack.

The Real Madrid man is in many ways a Wenger style signing, able to break quickly and link midfield and attack but he is also a great set piece taker and has the ability to spray out 30 yard cross field balls as well as the short and snappy movements Arsene prefers.

He is also available for a complete bargain price and surely the club can find the cash from the sales of Kolo and Emmanuel to put in a bid for the former Ajax man. Previously I would have suggested that the club could do well to bring in defensive support but having seen Gallas and Vermaelen form a solid partnership there doesn’t seem such urgency to do so.

Yes we could bring in another striker, but again is there a urgent need to do so? Ten goals in two games would suggest otherwise. VdV is a player who was courted by all after Euro 2008 and the Bernabeu outfit won the race but now inexplicably do not rate him enough to give him a squad number!

Arsene has little to lose by putting in a bid, the Spanish side desperately want to trim their huge squad and mountainous wage bill and with the clock ticking and the transfer window set to close in a week, now is the time to make the move.
