Liverpool Confirm Nemeth Loan Switch: Not Sure This Is A Good Idea?
by YNWA on August 25th, 2009 241 words | 33 commentsWouldn’t he be better placed getting some pitch time at Anfield?

Liverpool have today confirmed Hungarian duo Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon will spend the 2009-10 season out on loan.
Nemeth has joined Greek side AEK Athens until the end of the campaign, while Simon will spend the term with Spanish club Cordoba CF.The strike pair originally arrived at Anfield from MTK Hungaria in the summer of the 2007 after impressing in the previous year’s UEFA U17 Championships.
Nemeth was included in the first team’s tours of Switzerland and Asia this summer, and the 20-year-old helped himself to two goals in the 5-0 victory over Singapore last month. (Official Liverpool Website)
I have to say I was looking forward to seeing Nemeth attempting to break into the first team picture this term, after all we don’t have a whole lot of options up front and he was coming along nicely. Obviously a move to AEK Athens will do him good but it does seem a little short sighted to send the Hungarian out on loan.
At 20 he is clearly the right sort of age to give a decent shot at the senior set up, hell at a club like Arsenal he may well have already had a season or two under his belt. No doubt this deal had something to do with the deal that brought us AEK’s Greek defender Sotiris Kyrgiakos.

I believe I mentioned this in an earlier post and I’ll repeat what I said there, here – I’d rather have Nemeth as back-up rather than Voronin any day of the week.
saif - August 25th, 2009 at 2:39 pm
sell vorinin and have pacheco and n’gog as back up
lfc YNWA - August 25th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
why do this? Nemeth was arguably our best player in pre season, we need him as back up for Torres Voronin is simply not good enough we definitely should give Nemeth a first team opportunity.

You are spot on !!
I don’t see the point in retaining players like voronin who have no future at he club we should snap hertha’s hand off, if the reports of them wanting to sign are true.

Wat is Rafa up to, he has to remember this is Liverpool fc not some 2nd division Spanish club. We have a reputation of having all time legends and now we have Voronin, Babel, Lucas and N’gog……….
Rafa really has to get a grip money or no money and play the liverpool way, or never mind not winning the premiership but we will struggle to make the top 4….
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
Saw Nemeth play again Singapore..very impressive compared to Voronin on that match..Voronin just wasn’t quick n smart as Nemeth hu took his chances
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 3:13 pm
Nementh if he was at Arsenal now would be getting rave reviews and would either be gettin his game or sitting on the bench, but we are loaning a player who scored more goals in pre season then N’gog and Voronin together.
I saw him play in Ireland a few weeks ago he is a class act at 20 and should at least be in out matchday squad
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
rafa is an asshole
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
a) Rafa is not an arsehole. Just incase you muppets have not noticed no manager ever has got Liverpool to a higher Premiership finish so I really don’t know what the fuck your all on about. You’re all probably about 13 and playing Football manager thinking it’s real….dickheads.
b) Nemeth is actually made of glass and this is why he is loaned out.
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Rafa is doing this because he has one more signing in him
I dont know about you lot but i have faith in rafa
He knows what hes doing and eventually he will bring number 19 home

so what
houlier got us to second and look what he did
RaNE - August 25th, 2009 at 3:54 pm
he isnt a stable premierleague player
do you know why hes getting loaned out?
because to play regular football which he wont get at anfield yet in the future yes but everytime we loan him out its to leagues that move in a faster pace just wait in a few years time he will be ready and consistent
jimmyk - August 25th, 2009 at 4:05 pm
give the boy time. experience is what he needs, hopefully he’ll get games and come back ready next season. he would be in the first team setup this season if he wasn’t blighted with injuries last season.

Well said Donovan Reid i also will not read any anonymous tripe.

On the subject of nemeth the man is 20 years old not 16/17 years of age so why on earth has he loaned our best prospect out, surely he is good enough and old enough to merit an inclusion into the starting squad.
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
donovan reid is a wanker
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
sending him out on loan and keeping voronin is like loaning out Mascherano and keeping Lucas
cockneyscouse - August 25th, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Forgive me for sounding crazy but, if we had we had to loan out nemeth then why not a championship side ? ?
This does seem like a crazy thing to do, but who are we to reason why ? ?
RyanO - August 25th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
This is shit. Nemeth should be running out an Anfield by now. I suppose first team experience and all, but aren’t Prem reserve teams playing about the same level of football?
Donavan Ried - August 25th, 2009 at 9:01 pm
He is not really improving playing for us …. The loan move is the best thing for all

anonymous do you know why you can make the statement that “donovan reid is a wanker” ?…… I will tell you why ……. It is because like a lot of folk here i have courage and conviction to stand behind my opinions and add my name to what i have to say, unlike you …..

ive seen footage of nemeth play he looked like the new michael owen from years gone by i would have played him he got 2 pre season goals . and he might be what we need i dont agree with rafa about using one striker cause all the defenders are all over torres and if you had a second striker it would make it easy for us to score more goals what do you reckon?
anonymous - August 25th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
Donavan,
Of course he would improve going out on loan but, If the lad was getting as much playing time as what Voromong does, and has had during his LFC career !?!. Then he would be much better then that piece of wank, who has no future at the club.
How do you think players like Fabregas and Clichy emerged at Arsenal, at least Wenger has the balls to blood the youth in the prem rather then loaning his best prospects.
Lets be honest here Insua is only getting a game because Aurelio is injured and Dossena is shit.
9torres - August 26th, 2009 at 10:27 am
He needs a full season on loan somewhere. You cant just throw players in at the deep end. He will learn much more playing 25+ games at AEK than he would playing 5 with us. Rafa has said he isnt ready for the first team yet as he isn’t strong enough. He would have spent 3 months or longer on loan last season if it hadn’t been for injuries. Will be better for us to have a bulked up Nemeth with another years experience next season that to ruin him by throwing him in this season. I think it’s different with Pacheco as he isn’t needed to lead the line so doesn’t need as much strength. He does still need to bulk up a bit though. Expect Carling Cup appearances and a loan move to a club at the end of this season and for the whole of next.

No true Liverpool fan turns on the team or individual players .Its not the Liverpool way , we may moan amoungst ourselves but we dont harp on about players in the public domain.
You are not true Liverpool fans
Here’s a thought though, put pressure on the owners, they see Liverpool FC as there own personnel piggy back.
Lets all supporters world wide hurt them were they will feel it, without hurting the team.
Keep buying tickets and watching the team no problem, but cut of all other income streams.
1) DO NOT PURCHASE ANY MERCHANDISE FROM ANY STORES OR ONLINE.
2) WHEN AT MATCHES DON’T USE THE BARS OR THE FOOD OUTLETS
3) DON’T SPEND ANY MONEY ON LIVERPOOL THAT WILL ONLY END UP IN THE HANDS OF THE YANKS.
4)DON’T TAKE STADIUM TOURS ECT!
This will not hurt the team or Rafa the yanks have already taken all the transfer funds, if what is said in the press and on all the forums is true, so this will only hurt the YANKS and scare the banks that back them, drop in income = pressure from the banks

Spot on post !
The yanks have taken 60m out of the club this season to smooth over the loan deal !!
And on top of that cliam £1.85m in expenses !!
It’s just not right !!
Support the Sprit of Shankley movement !! and get the yank clowns out of our beloved club !!

I have to say, I don’t know if Rafa has lost the plot or is under so much pressure to try to reduce the wage bill as well as get as much money in as possible.
After the start we have had i can see us going back 5 years, even Spurs have a better squad than us, albeit not world class players like Torres, Gerrard, Carra and Reina. We desperately need to build around these 4 players.
Get rid of Dossena, Voronin, Reira, Babel, Lucas, N’gog, Degen, Plessis, Itandje, El Zhar, Bouzanis and San Jose. This will reduce the wage bill and also bring in much needed money, then go out and by 4 more world class players and use the rest of the squad to fill the gaps, i.e squad players and youth players, we will then have a starting block, to build on.
