“I blame Health and Safey!”

Chelsea players were jeered yesterday after fans who had turned up to watch an open training session were denied the chance to get autographs from them. Over 8,000 Chelsea supporters were at Stamford Bridge to see Joe Cole complete his first training session on his return from injury but the party atmosphere went sour when the crowd was told players would not be signing autographs due to “security concerns”.
After a 90-minute practice session the Chelsea players gave a half-hearted lap of honour during which they were roundly applauded. But those cheers quickly turned to boos as the announcer informed those in the stands that players would not be putting pen to paper for the thousands of schoolchildren in attendance. You couldn’t script this! Hilarious. What is the point in an open day if your not even allowed to pose with players or get an autograph? I mean, if you wanted to sit in the stands and watch the players run around for a few minutes you could just turn up at the club’s training ground three days a week with a pair of binoculars. Crazy!
