Running out of time and patience
If I were Rafa I would be sick and tired of not being backed by the club’s owners. It wouldn’t surprise me if he decided to quit the club sooner rather than later and in fact it wouldn’t surprise me if the Clowns who run the club sacked him before he had a chance to leave of his own accord.
Sure he makes the occasional tactical error here and there and hasn’t adequately replaced Xabi Alonso and was a little short sighted to sign an injured player in Alberto Aquilani, but he is still the man for the job, it’s just that he has his hands tied by the comical duo in the boardroom.
The Americans appear to be trying to run the club down and have clearly little or no intention of backing the club financially, which is exactly what owners are supposed to do. I am not suggesting they should bank roll the clubs and spend crazily but I would have expected a club as big as ours should be able to spend what it makes from player sales at the very least.
Those ‘Rafa has quit’ rumours of last week may well have just been a sign of things to come rather than a result of a bunch of idiots on Twitter. In fact had we not been so impressive against Stoke he may well have gone then. After last seasons title charge the Americans should have backed him to the hilt with a decent amount of cash, but instead the squad we have now is worse than the one we had last year.
Sure there are player Rafa could have considered buying but it’s not like he is spoiled for choice in regards to what he could afford to buy.
Its seems clear that the club will either lose its inept owners (fingers crossed) or they will see Benitez leave the club. It’s no coincidence that the Anfield man is now the favourite to be out of a job at most bookmakers. They normally get it right, when was the last time you saw a skint Bookie!
