Tottenham Man O’Hara a £6m Birmingham City Target: Should Harry Sell?
by Mad Dog and Glory on August 27th, 2009 13 commentsTime to move on?
Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara is a target for Birmingham City.
The Birmingham Mail says Brum could move for the England U21 international after finding the price for Aston Villa’s Craig Gardner too rich.
Blues go to Spurs on Saturday for another tough away test after the Manchester United Old Trafford opener. (Birmingham Mail)
In many ways Jamie O’Hara is something of a luxury and a player who Harry Redknapp could afford to offload without too much concern but should the Spurs boss hold on to the 22 year old?
O’Hara started last nights Carling Cup match at Doncaster and has been used as a late sub in Premier League encounters this term so is a firm part of the club’s regular squad but is unlikely to get a run in the first team and could himself feel that a move to Birmingham, or indeed Fulham (a team who has shown sustained interest in the past) could help resurrect a career that could stagnate at White Hart Lane.
The adaptable midfielder can be a useful utility player to have at your disposal but is finding it hard going to convince Harry of his worth and in all likelihood will only find himself starting cup matches. His first few starts for the club under Juande Ramos showed a player with great potential and he wasn’t overawed by the occasion even when he was thrown in at the deep end when his first Premier League start came against Arsenal, a game where he performed manfully.

I think he’s a decent player and would excel at somewhere like Birmingham, but I have no idea whether Harry should sell or not.
O’Hara might want to go in order to get regular first team football, however, he might want to stay at Tottenham and fight for a place in a squad that’s currently taking the Premier League by storm. Tough choice for the youngster if he gets one.

Of course we shouldn’t sell him, he’s a good player that’s worth more than the £6 million quoted and I think would be a miss if he was sold.

Why would we sell him, the thing that makes us look strong is a good solid squad and o hara fits that bill, he is a 100% er.

Why sell him? we shouldn’t under estimate his quality just because we didn’t buy him from abroad etc. He is a consistent performer that grows in stature with every game and still only 22. He has heart, two good feet, decent skill and a better crooser of the ball than most and chips in with goals too. He also very rarely misplaces a pass. Infact he is our most under rated player (and more consistent than Jenas)
in other words……. Deal or no deal? “NO DEAL THANKS NOEL!!”

keep o’hara and sell jenas. o’hara is a great player and i for one would not sell him. he is great cover and i would have no probs to see him in the start team.

If we can get Krancjar in for a similar price then sell O’Hara. I don’t fancy him as Modric’s replacement should he get injured. He’ll do well for the likes of Birmingham.

I’d drive him up the M6 for 6 million. He is a nice guy but to challenge for the top 4 we need better than him. Not sure if his Mrs would be keen on the move though!!

I hear Harry is about to seal a deal for Celso Borges of Fredrikstad – he’s supposed to be the next big thing. There’s a few big clubs after him but if we can pull it off I think we should get shot of O’Hara.

O’Hara can be exciting. His work rate is 100%.He may not be a regular starter in the Spurs side, but when a goal is needed,he can sometimes supply it.DO NOT SELL HIM

DO NOT SELL O’HARA
I SEE HIM HIM AS A GREAT SQUAD PLAYER NOW AND A FUTURE FIRST TEAM REGULAR AT CENTRE LEFT.
PERHAPS THE BRUMS MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN JENAS INSTEAD OR ANY OTHER CLUB NEWCASTLE, SCUNTHORPE, MIDDLESBOROUGH, WHITLEY BAY!!!
NO COINCIDENCE WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE AND HE HAS NOT BENN IN THE TEAM!!!!!
