Everton Agree £5m Fee for Dutch International Heitinga

Everton have agreed a £5m fee with Atletico Madrid for Holland utility player John Heitinga.
Boss David Moyes has sealed the £5m capture of Portsmouth’s Sylvain Distin, and Heitinga, who can also anchor midfield, will join if terms can be agreed. (Sky Sports)
Having sold Joleon Lescott and fallen to back to beat defeats in his first two Premier League matches, David Moyes knew he needed to strengthen his back line and the addition of Sylvain Distin and now the capture of Dutch International John Heitinga is a good start.
25 year old Heitinga is a product of the famed Ajax academy and he spent seven years at the club during their lean spell in the Eredivisie and finally decided to try his luck elsewhere and moved to Atletico Madrid last season and proved a success helping the club to a Champions League finish but now it appears he is on his way to Goodison Park where he will be a very useful player to have around.
Much like other products of the Ajax youth system he has the basic ability to fill in various positions. Probably best used as a right back he can also play in the centre of defence and as a defensive midfielder.

if this is true, what a signing this could be, another centre half for cover and jags and arteta back and we will do as well as last season

An absolute cracking defender who takes no prisoners and times his tackles to perfection.
