Aston Villa have today launched a bid to being Welsh international defender James Collins to the club from West Ham United, according to a report from Sky Sports News. (Sky Sports)
Aston Villa have been busy this summer bringing a few new faces but they are still very much trying to bring in more signings to stabilize their defence. After back to back wins against Liverpool and Fulham Martin O’Neill would be forgiven for thinking that the defence was not in such a desperate need of change but nonetheless it appears the club is looking to sign £5m rated West Ham man James Collins.
The lanky 26 year old centre back has been at Upton Park since 2005 but has seen long spells out with injury hamper his progress at the club. Stoke City are also said to have a great interest in the former Cardiff City player but Aston Villa may be a more tempting move for the Newport born defender.

Martin O’neill is panic buying, Collins is just a squad player he will not improve us one bit. He knew 3 months ago he needed defensive backup.

i’m racked off with o’neil in the transter market buy’s mainly rubbish then sell them on or on the bench name just a few harewood, heskey, maloney, knight, shorly, and many more . Why don’t we employ somebody at the club to deal in transfers and just let o’neil pick and run the team
