The Three Stages of the Transfer Window Insanity!

David Bentley at the wheel
Official on-the-record chat from Manchester City – and it involves Tottenham’s David Bentley. They say, wait for it, they absolutely will not be signing the midfielder either on a permanent basis or a loan. Their business this transfer window, they say, is done and dusted. Apparently just over £200m on 13 new players is considered about enough to launch an assault on the Premier League’s top-dogs. (BBC Sport)
So there you have it. Probably the final word on the matter, but maybe there are other teams looking to sign the former Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers man, otherwise Tottenham are stuck with him for at least a few more months. Which leads us inevitably to the next couple of questions.
a) What went wrong for David Bentley?
and
b) Were the club foolish to spend the money they did on the former England man?
Feel free to respond to either of these points in the comments box below.

Bentley has to stay, he’s our best midfielder on his day and Arry would be a knob if he let him go……..hopefully the boy Modric will be out for more than the 6 weeks cos he’s a pile of shit.
