Ajax Move Seems Likely for Liverpool Flop Babel

AJAX coach Martin Jol has opened the door for a January loan move for Liverpool winger Ryan Babel.
Outspoken Babel has made no secret of his frustration at life on the fringes at Anfield this season.
The Holland international, who has not started a game since the opening-day defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, claimed last week that
Liverpool had broken promises made to him concerning first-team involvement this season.
Babel also issued a clear plea to allow him to return to former club Ajax on loan during the January transfer window, in a bid to assure his place in his country’s squad for the World Cup finals next summer.
And when asked about the possibility of a move for Babel in the New Year, Ajax coach Jol gave the prospect a cautious welcome.
“I’ve read what he said, but I don’t have anything to say at the moment,” said the former Tottenham Hotspur manager.
“Babel does appeal as a good option, but it all depends on whether we need him when the time comes.” (Liverpool Daily Post)
To be honest I am all for Ryan leaving, but would prefer a loan deal as It is clear that he has the ability to be a very good player for us. A spell in the Dutch Eredivisie may just give him the confidence he needs and could set him up nicely for a World Cup that he could excel in and take Holland to Glory and thus bring him back to us the following season a rejuvenated figure and offer us a player more like the Thierry Henry-alike he was supposed to be.
Okay so maybe I got carried away there. Rafa does appear to be opening the door for the former Ajax man to leave but I am sure Benitez will think long and hard about any potential permanent exit.

great idea. babel is a prestigious talent. he is a striker not winger. six months, or even a year where he can play every week, would improve his tallent. i think he is still only 22yrs old, a year later he could have played in a world cup, won a championship in holland, and still be a liverpool player, more mature, confident and ready. it would save us money. lets face it he must be better than voronin.

Why do people say he is a striker? HE’S NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN!!
He plays on the left for us, Hollond, Holland U21’s and for his former club. Bad player, bad touch, bad decision maker so what you got left? A ping of a shot and that’s your lot and he rarely gets that right these days. Average.

Voronin is top quality. Babel is crap, I hope he goes back to Holland and stays there. Liverpool can do without a negative & disruptive influence like Babel, spraying us all with his verbal filth.

Voronin is quality? I’d have Babel over him any day of the week…

Voronin & Babel are crap (For English Football) Voronin is quality in Germany and he record backs that up. Babel was very good in Holland.
Neither of these players are Liverpool class and as much as i would like to see both of them gone, what other options do we have????
We’ve got Pacheco who’s not quite ready, (Would have like to see him go out on loan to a lower league club) Nemeth who i think was close to breaking through got shipped out on loan as what appears to be part of the Greek CB deal.
Also we’ve got no money all of the cash that we had on transfers has gone in the back pockets of the yanks.

we deffinately have difference in opinion. babel was one of the best players, in the euro u21 2006/07. look at his number in the tournament. no.9.
ok he may have a bad touch and be a bad desision maker, but maybe because he is out of position. rafa payed £10 mil for him after this tournament. his dutch u21 coach and coach Bert van Marwijk likes him and they are undefeated in the quals. does this make him a bad player? he can dribble, finish, and has agility.
moving to ajax who are world renound for their young tallent (as you will know) rafa is not playing him, he is under contract what have we got to loose? you can all imagine your worst case scenario; but i think if he plays for ajax and another club buys him it would improve his value, compared to what we may get for him if he warms our bench.
how ever i would like to see him in our reserves for a while. play him with eccelstone up front. two strikers with pace and skill with pecheco sitting behind them both, watch the goals come in.
on voronin, well less said. he may be ok, but QUALITY? sure your not confused!!
still i trust rafa, he sees the player in training everyday.

if he gets loaned out and he plays good his value will go up, and then he will get more of a chance in the worldcup and if he goes to the world cup and plays good there then his value will go up abit more.
in the end we should atleast sell him for as much as we payed for him, even maybe more depending on how he plays

But Babel knows what time it is – he just bought a new watch

Think its a win, win for us he can’t play up front with torres his link up play isn’t his strength with kuyt occupying the right side he is left battling with the on fire yossi and a natural left winger in riera a season on the bench is all he can expect a loan would get him regular action, confidence, his price would go up if we did decide to cash in know we would lose a good option off the bench but we would get back twice the player or some good money for a central midfielder bring back nemeth from his loan he is ready to be the foil torres needs and let babel go to ajax for a stint
