Danny Webber becomes the ninth player Pompey have signed in the space of two weeks and adds gives Paul Hart more attacking options. After four years at Old Trafford the Manchester born striker decided to call it quits and moved to Watford where it took him a while to fit in well but a final season saw him move to Sheffield United initially on loan but then on a permanent deal and he helped the Blades back into the Premier League the following season.
Injury greatly held back his career at Bramall Lane and he was released by the Championship club. Portsmouth will be looking to Webber to help alleviate their current goal drought which has seen the south-east club manage just one goal in their first four matches, and that goal from centre back Younes Kaboul.
