Early pacesetters take on title holders.
Tottenham’s squad is boosted by the return of midfielder Jermaine Jenas and goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
Ledley King remains a doubt due to a groin problem, but Sebastien Bassong is fit after shrugging off a knee injury he picked up playing for Cameroon.
Man Utd are hopeful Rio Ferdinand will pass a fitness test and make his first league appearance of the season.
John O’Shea is definitely out so Gary Neville may deputise after proving his fitness in a reserve match.
Suspended: None Doubtful: King (groin) Injured: Bale (foot), Dawson (Achilles), Modric (broken leg) Woodgate (groin).
Suspended: None Doubtful: Ferdinand (thigh)
Injured: Hargreaves (knee), Obertan (spine), O’Shea (calf), Rafael (shoulder), Van der Sar (hand) (BBC Sport)
This promises to be a corker, whenever these two meet there are usually goals a plenty, the last seven meetings in all competitions have yielded 17 goals but perhaps more tellingly Spurs haven’t beaten United in 19 attempts. However I can see Harry’s men being well up for this one. After a 100% start, and not easy games either, they will want to prove they are a force to be reckoned with and not a flash in the pan.
Sir Alex’s side played well at Wigan and Arsenal in their last two matches and could well have Rio Ferdinand back in their line up.
My Prediction 1-1
