Rafa should seriously consider this deal.
According to a report in The Daily Mail, English giants Liverpool and German powerhouse Bayern Munich are closely monitoring the situation of Chelsea centre-back Alex.
The strong defender’s current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2010, and the 27-year-old reportedly wants a longer deal than the two-year extension offered by the Blues.
Alex’s place in the Chelsea starting XI is by no means assured, with new manager Carlo Ancelotti getting success with a partnership of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho at the heart of his defence. (Goal.com)
A move by us for Chelsea centre back Alex come the summer could well be an intelligent one. Rafa Benitez brought in Sotiris Kyrgiakos last month in a bid help give our defence some cover in what could hopefully be a long and successful season and it was a move that made sense given the lack of financial backing the Liverpool boss had for new signings.
However a move for Alex, available for nothing next summer, would also be a clever and financially shrewd move. I am a big fan of the 27 year old Brazilian international who is a very dependable player who is a determined and solid customer. What do my fellow fans think?
