Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is unconcerned by Carlos Tevez’s possible absence ahead of the Manchester derby this weekend.
City travel to Old Trafford to take on the champions with doubts over their former United striker Tevez, who is struggling to overcome a knee injury to face his old club.
The blow would be a major miss for City but Ferguson insists it should not concern his rivals as much as the suspension of top scorer Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor received a three-match ban for violent conduct during City’s 4-2 win over Arsenal last week and will miss the mouth-watering derby as a result. The Togo international has scored in each of City’s four league games this season and when asked if he expects Tevez to feature in the match he gave a carefree response.
“It doesn’t bother me one bit – I think their best player is not playing,” Ferguson said on Sky Sports News.
“Adebayor has been their star player, there is no question about that. He has scored in every game. That’s their loss really.” (Sky Sports)
There is simply no one better at putting someone in their place and to be honest Carlos has been asking for a taste of one of Sir Alex’s perfectly planned attacks for a while now and he has got what he fully deserves.
His words are a joy to behold. He manages to at once put the Argentine in his place by making it clear that Mr. Tevez is not the big fish he may think he is and that it is Man City’s other judas, Emmanuel Adebayor, who the Eastlands outfit will miss most. He is of course spot on.

Ferguson is a fucking cock. Just an old drunk man these days and his mind games make absolutely no difference to what happens on the pitch. I’m surprised anyone can hear what he says anyway he’s got his head shoved so far up his own arse.

Obviously not as much of a cock as you. Although your are obviouslyan articulate deep thinker who is able to think analytically and based your opinion on the evidence of the last three seasons perfomance, you know I think you are right three premierships, a European Champions’ league…. Yep he’s definitely just a drunk old man, and you my friend are a halfwit who only remembers his own name because its on the badge you wear to work, shame you haven’t got any stars yet, but you keep asking who wants fries you’ll get there in the end

Is it really playing mindgames with Tevez when he says he’s somewhat reliefed that their top goalscror isn’t playing? Statement of fact imo.

Hmmm, and yet I know basic grammar, spelling and punctuation. You’ll be the one ordering the fries with your GIRO. Do you honestly think that Ferguson’s “minds games” have a literal and tangible effect? I suspect the only reason you can hear him is because your head is up his arse also. I’m sure there is plenty of room…

Think he does use mind games very effectively in the build up 2 big games and late on in the season to put pressure on teams and managers but due to the fact that tevez is very doubtful for the game we won’t see what effect this well placed dig would have had on him just think it is typical united luck that adebayor, tevez, Robinho, santa cruz will all be missing for the game hoping bellamy will do the business

Ferguson’s mind games are legendary, mainly for the fact that they always seem to work. However, I’m not sure that they will in this instance as he’s decided to psych out a player as opposed to a manager. This is a dangerous tactic, as it only takes a split second for a player to strike, whereas a manager has to remain calm and focused, and transfer this to his team. Managers feel 10 times as much pressure, so when Ferguson places doubt over their ability, resilience, tactics, selection, or anything else under their control, it intensifies significantly.
I think that Carlos is too thick skinned to pay any attention, and if anything it may just wind him up to play even better.
As far as Ferguson being a loser, I’m not sure how you can say that about the most successful manager in the history of the game. It’s like calling Stephen Hawking somewhat thick, or Genghis Khan a bit of a pussy. By the time he’s finished he could have personally won more domestic trophies than Liverpool ever.
To be honest, this really isn’t a story, and won’t get mentioned again unless Tevez scores a hat-trick.

well tevez is undoutabely a good player but the way he acted against Sir alex furgerson does not make me good either. Yes i do at agree taht alex did not give tevez a chance like rooney.
A good player never insults their manager infron of a media espically a manager like sir alex furgerson. Many might hate him and it is indeed rigt he is totally drunk of winnings……..

Ferguson has turned united into the most hated team in the entire sporting world and not because of their success, as previous United teams were liked and respected and also succesfull, its the whole arrogant manner he conducts himself in that has rubbed off onto their whole club in the last 18 years..

Really, these stories about bacon face and his “mind games” are so overplayed. Mean to tell us that opposing sides are thinking about what this drunk says while they are on the pitch? Just shut up already you blathering cunt.
