No love lost!
Chelsea’s Joe Cole will not be involved as boss Carlo Ancelotti is saving him for the Carling Cup match with QPR.
Didier Drogba and Jose Bowsingwa will both return to the side after their Champions League suspensions.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has a dilemma in goal as he has to decide between fit again Heurelho Gomes or current number one Carlo Cudicini.
Gareth Bale played 90 minutes in a friendly against QPR and is in contention for a place on the bench.
Suspended: None Doubtful: Alex (groin), Deco (calf)
Injured: Cole (knee), Ferreira (knee), Zhirkov (knee)
Suspended: None Doubtful: Bale (foot)
Injured: Dawson (Achilles), Modric (broken leg), Woodgate (groin) (BBC Sport)
This promises to be a blood and thunder derby as two in form sides go head to head at Stamford Bridge. It has been the best part of two decades since Tottenham triumphed away at Chelsea but perhaps there is no better time than now to rectify that sad record. Harry has his side purring on all cylinders and even though they lost to Man United in their last fixture they were certainly not disgraced and could well bounce back well in west London.
Chelsea may be suffering from a little fatigue after their tiring performance against Porto midweek but they will be hard to break down as ever and with Didier Drogba back to his best it could be a tough game for the Spurs back four.
My Prediction: 1-1
