Portsmouth Vs Manchester United Tickets Still Available!

Various reports are claiming that David Moyes is worried that someone may sooner or later poach one of Everton’s prized assets in the form of teenage sensation Jack Rodwell. The 18 year old midfielder has seamlessly moved through the ranks at Goodison Park and has fought his way into the first team squad and appears more than able to step into Premier League football and shows maturity beyond his years.
With a good range of ability that has shown his ability to put in strong intelligent challenges as well as being able to spray out long and short passes, one can see what Moyes might be wary of the attention the youngster is getting. It is of course looking similar to the situation the Merseyside club found themselves in when a certain young Wayne Rooney was wowing the masses before he left the club for Old Trafford in a move that greatly irritated all and sundry at Everton.
Jack Rodwell seems to love life as a Toffee but will it become inevitable that he will one day move on from the steady top six side to a team challenging for the major honours? Worryingly for Everton it does seem very likely that one day a bid will come in that club and the player will find very hard to turn down and one can only hope that such a deal doesn’t turn as sour as the recent move that saw Joleon Lescott become enemy number one when he moved to Manchester City.
Sir Alex will be looking for the next generation of midfielder to help his continuing success at Man United and who knows, perhaps he sees a midfield combination that would include Rodwell alongside the likes of Anderson as something he can not resist.

lol rooney come guss what rodwell will come 2 and everton will still be shit

we sold rooney after finishing in 17th in the league and it has turned out to be one of the best things we ever did, using that money to turn us into consistent european challengers.
rooney was playing in a team with the likes of tomasz radzinski, kevin kilbane, li tie, alex nyarko etc. rodwell is sharing the midfield with the likes of pienaar bilyaletdinov arteta cahill and fellaini. i think the situations are a bit different.
guranteed if he does leave it will be for an absolute fortune

Who gives a shit!! Everton will be shit with him or without. I heard Everton fans harping on about how they’re gonna finish fourth!………from bottom more like! Also, Rooney went to better paid pastures……but even he’s more over-rated than wind farms!

STAND UP…..IF U HATE MAN U

anderson and d fletcher are very poor, never man u quality
scholes and giggs are finished
carrick cant get a game
hargreaves is never fit
man u have serious issues in midfield and i think any team with a decent midfield should be walking all over Sir Awex’s over rated pensioners

Jack may come to the theatre, who knows when tho, my money is on when Moyes brings him with when Sir A steps down…think on Toffees – who would you prefer to lose to us next??

The combination of doubled salary and trophies is hard to resist for ambitious players. Hats off to Le Tissier, Jääskeläinen etc. but those days are gone.
As we saw on sunday, Fletcher is poor and Giggs is finished except creating 5 of Utd´s last 6 goals.

How long can giggs and scholes carry on tho utd have tried replacing them for years and however good fletcher played at the weekend a midfield of fletcher, park, anderson, carrick, valencia, nani, is shit by united standards

Personally, I can’t consider Jack Rodwell in the same light as Rooney. I feel he’ll be just as good a player, not the excited bleatings of the gutter press but for football followers, his singular talents really shine out now.
At the time when he is approaching the zenith of his career, I am of the opinion he’ll be playing for an Everton side up there, a member of the top four. Already, the side we now have are light years superior to the boys representing Everton in the early Rooney days and Rooney never strikes me as possessing much between the ears.
He was easy meet for that rogue Stretford, a great prospect for that ‘gentlemam’to earn himself a load of lovely lolly. Not surprisingly, well versed by that gentlemam, he made the appropriate noises and we lost a fantastic England striker.
Having said that, he was the initial means by which we started our inevitable climb to the top.
My words to you readers, Now watch our smoke.

As much as it pisses me of to accept with Everton continuous woes yet again we will be forced into a corner and have to sell.

Anon at 10.05 only smoke we will be watching will be from your crack pipe! Your main asset is david moyes the money from rooneys sale balanced the books as will lescotts moyes will continue to find bargains but that won’t make you a top four side with tottenham, villa and man city all spending the way they have been a top six place this season will be an amazing achievement unless he gets all the money in january

Who cares both clubs are gay anyway!

Unlike Rooney, Rodwell has class. I know him well and believe me, he has no desire to join the dark side.
anonymous - September 24th, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Rodwell is highly talented.. Just hope he stays at everton

talented strikers who make people go wow are a dime a dozen, not defensive midfielders though. well, this hot rod is an exception……. coupled with the ferdinand/hargreaves sicknote situation and the fact that he’s english, and you can imagine rodwell being valued around £40million. of course, that figure hasn’t taken into account the usual sold-on, trophies, international caps clauses. still, it’s a snip, but one that only real madrid, barcelona and man city can afford
