What the F*** is the Problem with Michel Platini and Sepp Blatter?
by Mr Rant on September 22nd, 2009 588 words | 47 commentsOur latest contributor to COS, Mr Rant, can get a little carried away so if there are any small children reading this, we apologise.
I’m sure they just hate English football.
They’re talking about bringing in the 6-5 rule. They blame the amount of
foreigners in the English game on the national teams poor showing at recent
international competitions. Apparently it’s nothing to do with the lack of team
spirit or quality managers that England had until Capello. I’ve got no problem
with setting a limit on how many foreigners are allowed to play. We had that
rule in England until 2000 or so. But 6 English, sorry, British and the rest
foreign is stupid. I’m a Man Utd fan, and we have enough English players
for it not to effect us, so it’s not just a bitter Arsenal fan ranting out of pure
bitterness, in an attempt to make the numerous inadequacies of the Arsenal
team seem less important.
Italian and Spanish teams have dominated Europe since 2000 or so and it’s
about time the English teams got back to where we should be. But Platini
is bitching about the fact that the four top teams are in debt and until the
debt is paid off, he wants us banned from European competition.
What A Prick
I can’t help but wonder, as he only mentioned English teams, will this rule
effect Real Madrid, who as a club, have a truly monumental debt. Real Madrid
just get lucky because the President can put his own money into buying players.
What about AC Milan? Who’ve recently shown that they have less money than
a beggar on the streets of Baghdad.
Of course it wont.
The English have always been the victim of bias from the European and World
governing bodies. Before you start telling me I’m delusional and paranoid, I have
examples to back my statement up.
Look at when English teams got banned from European Competition because of the
level of hooliganism. Don’t get me wrong, the teams perhaps deserved the ban because
of the moronic few who couldn’t control themselves. The fact is though, when
Italian hooligans, Turkish hooligans, Polish hooligans riot or cause problems, a ban
from competitions isn’t even in the picture. Look at the AC vs Inter game from a few
years ago? Dida gets hit on the head by a flare from the Inter fans. The game gets
stopped and the fans riot. What was the punishment? A few thousand euros and
an order to play the rest of the european games for the season behind closed doors.
What utter bullshit. If that was Man Utd Vs Liverpool and the same happened.
Those two teams would be chucked out of the competition and banned from europe
for a few years. On top of a colossal fine.
Look at Spain too. FIFA are one of the key advocates of the ‘Kick Racisim Out Of Football’
programme, yet when Spanish fans racially abuse Black English players, what is the outcome?
A Fine. A Weak fine. €20,000. It’s sickening that Sepp and the powers that be think it will just
go away without them having to seriously do anything about it. Spain should have been
kicked out of all International and Continental competitions, Club and National teams.
But they weren’t.
So what’s next?
Will England be banned because of the Crowd problems at the recent West Ham vs Millwall
game? Next time Joey Barton decides to smash someones head in, will we get a ban?
Where will the bias against England and it’s clubs and competition stop?
What a load of shit. Sepp Blatter, please fuck off.

he is a prick
Retryboy - September 22nd, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Every point bang on, platini can’t stand the fact that english clubs dominate europe and french do nothing he is quite blatant in his xenophobia wanting to cut decent teams out of the european cup teams that could possibly win to accomodate more shit teams from smaller countries that would have no chance of going through the groups
Mr.Rant - September 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 pm
too right mate. Xenophobia is as bad as racism. And Monsieur Platini is the president of the xenophobic supporters group, evidentially.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:02 pm
yeah, all those damn foreigners are xenophobic
Mr.Rant - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:04 pm
I like the irony in your comment.
Mong.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:06 pm
This actually made me laugh. But in an agreeing way. Very droll
Mr.Rant - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:07 pm
Droll? What on earth does Droll mean?
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:13 pm
Wake up lads, it isn’t xenophobia, continentalism or whatever…it is pure politics! Platini wants Blatter’s job so he has to get the European nations on his side when the next vote lines up in 2011. Fifa has had 4 English presidents and only 2 French ones so Platini feels it is his time, and it probably is. Why do you think he is so eager to “show how tough he is” with the ridiculous interventions and suspensions, the 5 officials, the 6-5 rules etc. He fears that a British candidate will be nominated against Blatter and he knows that the Europeans love to elect Brits, since they did invent the game and still understand it better than anyone else.
Mr.Rant - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Anon, I certainly hope that you are right. I have a feeling that Platini simply isn’t that smart. At least, with everything that has happened, he certainly doesn’t appear that way.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:25 pm
yeah … you poor english guys, whole world is against you. i hope all platini plans will become real football law, including salary cap, because they are good for the football in general. maybe except regulating number of foreigners – it really would help english national team, but i hate their style.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:38 pm
The weasel and the troll are damaging football with their old fashioned outdated ideas, all other sports have moved with the times except for football/soccer, troll and weasel are demented physcopaths who only care about their self-importance. The best way out for the true football lovers is a breakaway from both fifa and eufa and its slowly happening already behind closed doors, only a matter of time.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:39 pm
you are so paranoid…….”blatter and platini want to kill english footie” although some of their comments seem directed towards the EPL a lot of what they say makes perfect sense from an english, european and world perspective.
Mr.Rant - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:46 pm
It’s not a paranoid comment. Some of what they say makes perfect sense, I agree. But they seem to be determined to break the English teams European dominance. I think a rule to ensure that there is a certain percentage of the match day squad, or even a percentage of the full squad is a good idea. But the way they are going about it is all wrong. If they want to make it fair, it should be the same in every league in the world, and it should be down the the domestic FA’s to enforce the rules. Not the Continental governing bodies etc.
Retryboy - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:52 pm
You just said it yourself their comments are directed at english football they couldn’t stand the all english champions league final and they can’t stand all the best french players sat in arsenals reserve team platini can’t see the french league ever catching up so he is trying to drag the epl down and to the anon at 4.02 either really funny dry sense of humour or a total mongoloid!
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Anonymous above really gets on my tits. Probably a yank ( who are sudddenly interested in soccerball). The fact is that the English Premier League is the most money spinning and exciting league the footballing world has EVER seen. Whilst Platini, Blatter and co are debating whether women footballers should wear tight shorts, there’s been nothing short of a revolution in our game.
It’s called supply and demand people! In fact, the revolution started years and years ago…..the world loves English football, FACT. Yes we English fans do moan about player wages and footballers acting the twat in nightclubs when we, the working class, are the numb-nuts that pay for it, but we fucking love it and i say “Piss off, you don’t have to watch”. Platini is only in this high profile job because of his on the field exploits, whereas i feel a man like Sir Bobby charlton would’ve been a better pick for his unassuming love of our game. Platini will introduce so many fucking rules, you’ll have a ninth and tenth official in the dressing room to make sure theres no English banter. And rule number 1 in the uefa/Fifa agenda…if one English fan out of thousands misbehaves then tell the cops to batter them ALL!
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 5:02 pm
No I’m not a yank, and I,ve been watching football since I can remember, I love the EPL and believe it is the best and most exciting league in the world, i just dont buy into the whole blatter and platini are after us story.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 5:12 pm
Platini is a French cunt who hates not just Engish football, but England (and Great Britain) as a whole. If he lived in our “Tolerant” society, he’d be arrested for racism. Mr Platini, tinker with the rules at your leisure because there will always be an English club there or there abouts in the champions league you gallic cunt!
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Apparently, ( and seriously) its Americans that comment most on the english game!!!…. FUCKOFF and play BASEBALL u twats.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 5:30 pm
Nice to see Fergies little rent boy score such an important goal in the Manchester derby. Make the fucking most of it you glory hunting mancs, cos the little mercenary shit won’t get many more.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 5:30 pm
I would yet again like to point out that I am NOT american and find baseball and american football pointless( though i do have to admit I feel the same way about cricket)…….your paranoia is quite amusing though so I should stop discouraging it. Keep on moaning about how Platini hates brits and how he and blatter are forming a secret society to wipe british football of the global stage forever.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Owen was born to score and score goals he has wherever he has played. He is still one of the best finishers in the league and the quality of the goal he scored shows that
Retryboy - September 22nd, 2009 at 6:17 pm
Owen played his best football years ago capello and rafa see that why neither of them want him. Anon who aint a yank if there is no biased are the rules the same for every country? Which bit of the article is wrong then? Back up your claims we are paranoid with some facts or shut the fuck up
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 6:18 pm
ok. so you aint a yank. in any case….fuckoff. What you don’t seem to understand is….Engish football will always be here, darling. Whatever corner of the globe you are from….i aint interested. Oh shit!…i’ve just guessed it! Eire?……Still plenty English players to go around!!! kiss kiss
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Retryboy……Erm……No.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 6:28 pm
Anonymous 5.30……….Ok, so you ‘re not American. But to critise (did i spell it right?) the english premier league from Norway is a bit shit. U gay?
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 7:18 pm
the 6 plus 5 rule could never happen, its been condemned by the European Parliament, and is a form of racial segregation, as we are a European country, the UK, all the other Europeans have the same right as us to live and work here as me, its not always fair, but its the price we pay for being in Europe.
anonymous - September 22nd, 2009 at 7:40 pm
I’m not criticising the EPL from norway, I’m actually sitting somwhere in derby, and If you would check my earlier posts I said the EPL is THE BEST IN THE WORLD, said nothing about the number of english players and simply said there is sense in platini and blaters ideas, if you sat down and thought of what they are tryingg to do you would see that they make sense, however their plans on how to realise their ideas need to be revised……oh and no I am not gay

Semi right article, however the writer should look again at Platini’s proposals.
They do not censure clubs who are in debt, in fact it’s the complete opposite.
They will actually punish clubs who are debt free because of finance by their
owners, Manchester City for example. Clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United
etc , who are indebted to the banks will benefit from Platini’s measures because their debt is deemed managable. It’s all about maintaining the status quo.

Blatter and Platini are a disgrace to humankind, they criticize the very people that are paying their salaries. The football world does not them in the least, the football world need to move forward and they are holding us back. get rid of them quick before its too late and they destroy the game
Retryboy - September 23rd, 2009 at 8:04 am

Mr.Rant - September 23rd, 2009 at 12:45 pm
Retryboy, try growing up instead of abusing someone who actually has an Idea about what they are talking about. And as for the comments about what I said to do with the financial problems of some clubs, I was unaware of the changes in Platini’s proposals. Initially, he wanted any club with any kind of debt, manageable or otherwise, to be banned from continental competition. I’m glad he’s done a U-Turn, its about time he did something that made sense.
anonymous - September 23rd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Platini is indeed a prick, whose national league means nothing. France has wine and loads of space, but… that’s it. Both of those things provided by nature, not the locals. A jealous, short little man, and bitter with it, like so many French people in positions of power or influence (amongst their own, I should say, since – let’s face it – no Frenchman has imposed his will on England in the last ~1,000 years).
anonymous - September 23rd, 2009 at 4:01 pm
Anon @ 2:28 – “France has wine and loads of space, but… that’s it. Both of those things provided by nature, not the locals”
Do you really think bottles of wine grow on trees?
Retryboy - September 23rd, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Mr rant, any dick head that comments 6 times on his own article and doesn’t even know what droll means shouldn’t be telling anyone to grow up they should be in the shops buying a fucking dictionary any dickhead united fan who writes an article on diving after winning their last 3 titles off the back of ronaldo’s self won free kicks doesn’t have any sense of the word irony so shouldn’t use it until he has purchased said dictionary and any dick head who thinks that jed the most hated man on this site(and very proud of it) talks sense should try reading his comments on every liverpool story and you would see why he is deserving of every bit of abuse he gets
anonymous - September 23rd, 2009 at 10:05 pm
Here’s some comment from a yank – by birth at least – who has lived in Britain for more years than I care to remember. Anyone who can’t see that Platini and Blatter are targeting the EPL is deliberately blind. Everytime they issue a communique they mention in one way or another an English club or owner. Real are never mentioned, and their record on racism and fiscal ineptitude is on record for all to see. As for the French clubs, they can’t even get a decent fan base and this probably upsets Platini more than the fact that the EPL is the most exciting league in the world and that includes La Liga. Blatter and Platini have a political outlook that believes in promoting their favoured sides and cutting down those with whom they do not believe. Witness the lack of action against Concacaf and that well known bastion of democracy and rectitude, Jack Warner.
anonymous - September 25th, 2009 at 3:11 pm
Blatter is a corrupted dictator that is making the FIFA look like the Mafia. He only supports his associates that scratch his back so they can do whatever they want in the rest of the world. His “Godfather” João Havelange at least had some common sense to manage the FIFA correctly. However, Blatter is an inept president that is changing the rules of the game for the worse. For instance, he replaced the Silver Goal for the Golden Goal taking part of the excitment from the game. Moreover, he banned stadiums over 3000 meters even though there is no medical proof that links high altitude to health problems. He also selects incompetent referees to officiate important matches like he does with his countryman Massimo Bussaca who like to piss in the middle of matches and make obsene gestures to fans. Most important of all, he likes to control the federations around the world by supporting only his minions that scratch his back in those organizations. He protects those corrupted officials from the governments by claiming that those federations are private organizations and threatening to ban them from official competitions. However, If a federation doesn’t do what he wants he proposes to establish stupid rules like he did with by bringing the 5-6 rule to England. Obviously, this is not what we all want for the sport that we love and cherish. If only the FIFA can be managed with democracy and rectitude.

I know that Real wanted to head a break away League of the best teams in Europe, Maybe it’s not such a bad Idea ……. Were play away this weekend Luv, Barrca’ in me and the lads are stopping over in ibiza ……. Just think of it, and it would cost about the same as going to the Bridge or theEmiratres …..
Retryboy - September 27th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Hope that never happens m8 love the english league and results like wigan vs chelsea and burnley vs utd prove that it never should look at how intense the battle for the premiership, champions league qualification, relegation will be this year. European nights are special, because they don’t happen week in week out.
