Besides the case Chamakh, Arsenal has not finished ogling the Ligue 1. Arsène Wenger has reopened the trail to Eden Hazard, the midfielder from Lille. The Gunners would like to take the lead quickly to finalize the transaction while allowing the player to LOSC until next June. (Eurosport)
This would make sense for both Lille and Arsenal. Understandably the Ligue 1 side is not keen on losing one of its star performers but they can probably expect to lose the Belgian teenager sooner or later and any deal that would result in the player staying put for the time being would be welcomed.
Some sources quote the price for the 18 year old could be as much as £13m which given that he was voted Young Player of the Year award in France last season probably isn’t as inflated a price as it first seems.
Also by letting the youngster stay in France Arsene Wenger doesn’t have to worry about the starlet getting lost among the myriad of talent we already have coming through the ranks at the Emirates and this may well be the type of deal that makes a move for the much admired Hazard that little bit more likely to come to fruition.
