MANCHESTER, England (AP) -Police will take no action against Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy, who pushed a Manchester United fan in the face after the supporter had run onto the field at the end of Sunday’s game at Old Trafford.
The incident happened after United’s dramatic 4-3 victory and the fan, 21-year-old Jake Clarke, has been charged by police with unlawfully going onto the field.
But Greater Manchester Police said no one had registered a complaint with them, and they would not pursue any action against Bellamy.
Both the Football Association and Man City have announced they will take no action against the Welsh international. (CNN)
Maybe it was the thought of having to come face to face with Craig “Where’s my five iron” Bellamy in a court room that was just too much for the idiotic fan who ran onto the pitch. Clearly it was a stupid thing to do to enter the playing surface and even more insane to do so within yards of Craig “I could start a fight in an empty room” Bellamy.
The Welshman will now at least be available for selection whilst Emmanuel Adebayor serves his own ban for attempting to decapitate his former teammate with his football boots. I like Craig “at least I am not as bad as Joey Barton” Bellamy, he reminds me of an uncle who talks at 100 miles and hour whilst staring at you in a manner that makes you wonder just how much time it would take to get to the nearest bus stop.
