playing masa and lucas together really limits us playing anykind of decent football,
chelsea dominated the middle and we struggled alot to put our foot on the ball except for the last 15 mins.
we were just poor in creativity, gerrard was quite as being man marked ,
torres was left alone up front against terry and ricardo(world class defenders)
we used the left flank more often , no play from the right ,drogba always was a handful,
we launched the ball foward but it always came back faster then it left the boot
who ever won the midfield won the game , the last 15 min when lucas came off , it looked like the pool from the last season, gerrad had more freedom, we attacked from both flanks , but it was too late ,

I thouhgt that it was a pretty even match as the statistics (goals aside) would prove. I think the officials did ok but they did miss a definate penalty shout for Liverpool at nil nil. Chelseas first goal was a swift counter attack that was started by a daliiance by Javier Mashcherano in midfield and the second goal came from when Liverpool didn’t get a tackle in on Drogba at the byline. To be fair though a tackle on Drogba would have meant a definate penalty because he would have gone down like a sack of the preferbial. The guy knows no bounds when it comes to falling over. Had the game ended nil nil I think it would have been a fair result on the balance of play but as with these games a touch of quality or a mistake. The later in this case meant that one team won. Liverpool were much improved from their last game, I don’t think that I can say the same for Chelsea. I still believe that the league will be much closer this season.

drogba is quick but not the quickest goin around, but he made carragher look like he was walking….i know i never say anything good about mascherano but without him the score would have been a lot more…gerrard was a ghost in a team that needs him to perform to be successful…you better hope hicks and gillett get the cheque book out for the winter transfer window

we just dont have a link between defence and attack any more instead weve gt masch the tackler and lucas the side passer. with the diamond you do need width aswell but kuyt was to slow for cole and riera didnt get the ball for some periods. But it was quite even but they finished 2 chances and we missed 2 chances (torres and benayoun). and john terry was good carragher not so.
Ryan Babel - October 5th, 2009 at 11:42 am
2-0 was a bit generous 1-0 was more fairer as they just edjed it kind of.
anonymous - October 5th, 2009 at 11:58 am
Should have been 4-0… Liverpool bi’s took one hell of a beating from a team that can’t beat Wigan…. hahahahaha… What the fck does you 6-1 hull victory mean now.
2-0 to Fiorentina, 2-0 to Chelsea…. looks like you can only beat the Hulls of this world. Enjoy your medioucor season this year

As always with Gerrard and Torres FC, if neither of them fire, then Liverpool don’t win.
Liverpool truly do have a paper thin squad.
bod - October 5th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
As much as I hate to say it – Drogba the big can of piss was great for both goals. We had a decent first half, but things went pete thong after the break. Not the end of the world when you consider that we’re still only 6 points adrift.
I’m expecting Agger to push either CB for a place in the team. A bit of competition in that area is no harm considering both of their performances of late. BTW, the zonal marking didn’t look to hot again when some of those crosses came into the box. Anyhoo, my focus is now on a good performance against Sunderland, who were very unlucky not to get 3 points against manure.
Hoogleboogybugleboy - October 5th, 2009 at 12:31 pm
As I said before, losing at Chavski is not the end of the World. We beat them last season and still came second. I still think that the league will be closer this season with at least 6 teams competing for the championship. Arsenal will have a say as will Man Citeh and by the looks of it so might Spurs. Acon might take it’s toll but there is still a long way to go.

It’s comments like you make above that shows how pathetic some people are these days. How does yesterdays game prove that Drogba is better than Torres or that anyone is better than anyone else?
Hoogleboogybugleboy - October 5th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
Jed. The reason your comments get moderated is not because of your opinions, everyone is entitled to their opinion it’s because you abuse everyone. You have absolutely no respect for anyone else’s opinion but you expect people to respect yours. You cannot possibly be like it in your every day life so why be like it on here? And low and behold. You do it again above. What is the matter with you boy?

Match pretty even if Liverpool had got the penalty, eitherone!!, the result would have been very different. Agree gerrard is right off form!! but better than tuesday!
One of those matches that the team scoring first was likely to run out winners !
Surprised Drogba involved in scores, spent most of his time laying down!!!!!
Please wth the improvement in the Liverpool centre back, form starting to improve.
Says alot about the game when the chelsea goalie wins MAN of the MATCH!!!

Chelsea will struggle come the new year when they lose their African players, if they dont get the transfer ban reversed.
jimmyk - October 5th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
simply not good enough. we have no creativity in midfield, our defense is not looking so solid, torres was bossed by the centre backs, and essien trampled all over our midfield. gerrard was playing too far up the field, which wouldnt of been a problem had we kept xabi.
we need aquilani to come soon, and gel instantly, and be everything rafa says he will be – which i believe he will be.
we need to beat the scum end of the month and every game we play from here on.
im still confident we can win the league, but the 2 areas (midfield / defence) which normally are our strong point needs to be sorted.
anonymous - October 5th, 2009 at 2:10 pm
simple – rely too much on gerrard and torres, your in desperate need of a world class left midfielder and a world class midfielder to go alongside masch, selling alonso was a big mistake…also you need a better right back and possibly a new centre back to replace carragher ( the man has clearly past his sell by date, he cant handle it with the youthness of today)
RyanO - October 5th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
Didier Drogba, fucking diving cunt embarassment to football. How in fuck is this “man” allowed to flop about like he’s been shot on minimal contact and then actually given free kicks!!? It’s lunacy! It’s shite cowardly refereeing! Fuck Drogba, fucking diving cunt.
anonymous - October 5th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
if liverpool had won everyone would be chanting how well they played, like last season.we lost lamps to a red card, conceded 2 late goals and everyone went ranting and raving like we were playing our best.now its liverpool being downgraded instead of us being commended for our ability to force the errors, stay resillent and efficient.how can 1-0 be fairer? We still forced the issue in the 90th min.our goals never came from set pieces, score line was fair, more possession, shots on target and incisive passing.lamps dispossessed masherano in our half through determination.if it was stevie g the holy bells would have been sounding. Stop thinking of the ‘what if’s.’ it happened and Blue is the colour,B*tches!
rasone - October 5th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
ALONSO WAS NOT FORCED OUT HE WANTED TO GO!!!!!!
HIS CHOICE!!!!!!!
WHAT DO YOU DO KEEP PLAYERS WHO DONT WISH TO PLAY FOR YOU!!!
anonymous - October 5th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
Why do people say we rely on Torres and Gerrard too much? Really? We rely on two world class players? Much like Arsenal with Cesc and RVP or Chelsea with Drogba and Lampard or ManU with Rooney and um, well they have no-one else now.
Gerrard and Torres hardly played together last season and we still beat pretty much everyone who needed beating. Not much wrong with liverpool fc and their goalie got MoM which speaks volumes.
Too many people read the lazy journalism in the rags- get a mind of your own!

this is one of the over used statements ever. torres didnt play against chelsea last year and we won. torres and gerrard played only about 12 league games together last season and we showed that we can challenge for the title.
If drogba isnt on form will chelsea be as good
if rooney or giggs isnt on form will united be as good
if van persie or fabregas isnt on form will arsenal be as good
NO NO NO.
isaac hunt - October 5th, 2009 at 3:40 pm
and to the others who are saying drogba is better than torres please can you get a life.
1. drogba has nowhere near as good goals-to-game ratio
2. torres is in a weaker team and never has a decent cross except from gerrard
3. drogba is older and has been in the prem for longer while torres is still young and learning HAHA.
anonymous - October 5th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
I am a Chelsea supporter and agree Torres is by far a better player but with less physical strength, Liverpool rely too much on him, also Benyoun should start every game, he is the only playmaker in the squad.
RyanO - October 5th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
How would anyone ever determine that Drogba has more physical strength than ANYONE when he spends half the match on the ground!? Fucking diving twat.
Jed - October 5th, 2009 at 4:53 pm
to all those who are complaining about drogba’s diving stop being sore losers…how about you talk about your own teams pitfalls instead of focusing on something so petty….drogba winning a free kick off minimal contact didnt lose you the game, your teams shortcomings did…
anonymous - October 5th, 2009 at 5:28 pm
First things first.
Jed you chelski rent boy *uck *off to your own forum becuase you are a pest.
I was at the chelsea game yesterday and i thought it was a good game for me they are very good side so i take my hat to them. I thought essien for chelsea was really good if he hadnt been playing we might have won
The one thing that spoilt that game yesterday was drogba he is a cheat in the highest order. If he took that falling around out of his game he would be world class even john terry and the referee told him to get up several times. I’m not even being biased because even some chelsea supporters were saying the same.
Over to liverpool
Skirtel and macsh had good games yossi when he came on
J.carra struggled with drogba he was slow in decesion making and play he just didnt have a good game but in jamie defence he is playing to the left and not the right of defence so that may be the issue, reira struggled to get past his man, johnson again struggled in defence but he will improve. In these games you have to look after yourself and be better than your man the reason torres and gerrard struggled is because when you play agaist quality and others in the team dont perform this restricts your play.
I feel we lack pace and
Quality coming from the bench it was so evident
I just hope this is our bad spell.
Regards
A

Calvo…
I was surprised at how tactically poor Rafa was.
For large parts of the game Torres was far too isolated up front.
The wide players were never in the game and why Yossi didnt start i dont know.
The middle of midfield was a dissapointment,Essien literally bulldozed his way through the game and that led to ppl like Drogba doing the same to Carragher.
I would have thought that Gerrard would have moved into centre mid and stick Kuyt behind Torres.

i barely saw gerrard in that match and when i did see him he lost the ball
drogba spent alot of time on the ground im suprised he never got subbed although drogba was man of the match because he had the ball most the time and kept going on assisting goal
dibbler - October 5th, 2009 at 7:22 pm
I cant belive im writing this but i have to agree with jed on his comments and for the first time ever he has a point, you can go on about the drog not being able to stand on his own two feet unless there is a goal or a free kick to be had but that is just another brilliant part of his game and he wins so many points for his team by doing it also can slow play down when they are under pressure the bloke is un-playable when he is form and as good as anyone in the world everyone hates him because he is so frustrating to play against and to watch but he is top draw in my opinion.
I would not worry about the result too much in the past but we played well and lost 2-0 it is not a good sign, if we did not turn up and lost at least you could be angry that they played badly but it was not that type of a game chelski were just more clinical and worked better in attack.
Rafa take note!!!!!!!!!!
but we still never walk alone!!!!!!!!!!!!
RyanO - October 5th, 2009 at 7:39 pm
It’s absolute rubbish to suggest that Drogba diving is a “brilliant” part of his game. What a load of shite. That IS NOT the game of football. It’s atrocious, it’s despicable, it is cheating and it needs to be stopped. And Jed, your own supporters AND your fucking team Captain were getting on him about the shite yesterday so just go on with your “sore loser” commentary. I don’t care how many goals he scores or creates or assists, until he stops the play acting, he is NOT top drawer. The league needs to put an end to it and refuse to reward Chelsea free kicks based upon fantasy.
Jed - October 5th, 2009 at 7:45 pm
mate im not condoning his actions, but all ive seen it “fucking drogba this and drogba that” from the liverpool supporters….his diving isnt what caused u to lose, his assists were..
RyanO - October 5th, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Jed, no one is saying that his act is what caused us to lose the match. We lost the match because Mascherano made a bad mistake in losing the ball to Lampard. We lost the match because we have ZERO creativity in the midfield and because our back line, despite playing their best game of the season thus far, is still just not cutting it. Fair play to Chelsea, they did what they were expected to do and won the match on their home turf and now they are top of the league. There is no denying these facts. None of this, however, changes the fact that Drogba is a disgrace to the game. How many would be Liverpool counter attacks were stopped by another false whistle yesterday? And the crying out in “pain” and writhing on the ground like a scalded dog. Fucking cheating cunt. Like to see what your lot would have to say if he were wearing our shirt, I would imagine quite the same.

thats all i wanted to hear….as i said, i dont agree with what he does, its a part of football that i hate, but watching the game with mates that follow liverpool all i could do was laugh at it…..but, in saying this…when he goes down, there is contact, be it minimal, but our goalie is currently serving a 3 match ban for a penalty where there was minimal contact…if drogba had done the same what would the reaction be?
dibbler - October 6th, 2009 at 6:35 pm
Ryano im not saying that i like it but it is now part of the game like it or not and the fact is he is brilliant at it simple as that and to say Drogba is not top draw you are looking through shit tinted glasses mate he is world class and he would walk into any team in the world im not defending the horrible C**t but weather he is a c**t or not he is a top player.
anonymous - October 6th, 2009 at 8:38 pm
Don’t worry Chelsea are still shit and won’t win anything this year. Neither will Liverpool though because they are shit as well.
