Man United are understood to have revived their attempt to sign Valencia striker David Villa.
United had hoped to sign Villa last May when they met Valencia’s £35 million asking price. He held out for a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, but as they have both spent heavily in that area, United might now be an attractive option. (Telegraph)
Ever the perfectionist Sir Alex Ferguson probably still believes his side could do with an added injection of another top notch striker and with that in mind this source suggests that the Man United boss is planning another hopeful attempt at snapping up Spanish goal machine David Villa.
The Valencia striker has started this season much as he does every La Liga campaign, by scoring goals for fun. He is currently the Spanish top tier’s topscorer, ahead of former United man Cristiano Ronaldo, and whether he stays at the Mestalla depends on a few factors. One important aspect to consider is just how heavily in debt his club are and the second depends on whether they can get themselves into a Champions League spot for next season, something that obviously helps negate the need to sell off their prized assets, currently Villa’s efforts have helped Valencia to fifth.
Scoring goals hasn’t exactly been an issue for the Old Trafford side thus far this season, 19 goals in 8 Premier League games is pretty damn good, so whether Ferguson needs to splash out on the Spanish hitman is a debatable matter, however when the United boss gets a player in his sights he very rarely fails to get his man!

Calvo…
As much as I like him as a player and he would no doubt add something to any side.
I think that for the price and the age of him it would be difficult to say whether its a great deal.Perhaps for that amount Utd could get Dzeko and Silva or put it all towards Aguero. However the fact that L´pool are on the verge of being taken over things will get very interesting come next transfer window.

Debt means nothing to United, everyone has it but no one as bad as United, the fans have this naivety that they are invincible, the only team that is immune is Real Madrid and thats because they are backed by the Spanish Goverment
