Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
However, the wealthy Premier League side will face stiff competition for the player’s signature from Spanish giants Real Madrid and especially Barcelona, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
Speculation has continued to mount over the player’s future in the last year, even though he has repeatedly stated his willingness to stay in north London.
Barcelona are apparently confident that the Catalan playmaker will return ‘home’, and may even mount a bid in January. Real Madrid are also believed to be hovering with intent.
However, City’s enormous spending power has already brought results this year, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure moving north from the Emirates in the summer.
Fabregas came through the ranks at Barcelona before joining the Gunners as a 16-year-old, so the Catalan giants would surely be the favourites to sign Fabregas. (Yahoo)
Well at least it makes a change from Barcelona. Now during the summer there was a spell where Manchester City realistically thought they could sign the really big names in European football, and they attempted, unsuccessfully to make moves for the likes of Kaka, Fernando Torres and our very own Cesc Fabregas. Obviously all those bids were doomed to failure and Mark Hughes then went about snapping up players who were within their reach, invariably players who had an axe to grind with their own teams, the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry to name just three.
There is no way, absolutely no way, that our captain will make the move to Eastlands at any time in his entire career. I wouldn’t be able to say with such certainty that Fabregas will never end up at Barcelona, but it won’t be any time soon I am sure of that, but I can quite confidently state that if Cesc joins Man City I will eat my own knees!
There is no doubt that the mega rich can afford the £45m or so valuation on our skipper, but it is just never going to happen. He will have absolutely no interest in moving to any other Premier League club in his career.

Couldn’t have put it better myself, Man City are deluded if they think they have any chance of getting Fab!

Well I’m an equal realist….though it would be great to see some mouthy cockney numpty eat any body part!
You keep the Spannish matador and we’ll quietly move on.
Great player and he WILL leave you for sun, sand and sangria!

I would have thought with City on the UP, and they will stay in an upward curve whether you personally like it or not, they would have a very good chance of tempting him north. Bigger wages for starters. I think we all need to realise that the new City has nothing in common with the City at Maine Road, the history is still there, but as a club they have catapulted forward as a very serious competitor.

More boring shit from the Whingers. Made up paper talk.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
How can it be a “shock bid” if Arsenal are anticipating it 3 months before the transfer window?
This is just Manchester City bullying Real Madrid. Madrid don’t want to get caught in a bidding war with City over Cesc. Mark Hughes will say “if you don’t make an offer for Ribery, we won’t bid for Cesc”. Also, it would be very painful for the Real president to see Robinho go to Barcalona, which is another “incentive” from Man City for Madrid to keep out of Man City’s way.
Cesc will go to Madrid, and Ribery will end up at City. With Ribery alongside Tevez and Lescott, City will have the horrifically-scarred full deck.
Fabregas is too small and pretty for city. They already have Ireland and SWP in midfield. Hughes is looking for battle-scarred hard men to compliment his mini midfield maestros.
A bidding war would be great, though.

more paper selling crap…. its october… or havn’t you noticed? Stevie Ireland is king… City don’t need FAb.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
I forgot to say. Hughes and Wenger seem to have some kind of understanding, and are happy to stitch up Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool as we saw this summer. They did a lot of business together, and in spite of city being linked with almost everyone, they never once stepped on arsenal’s toes. Or vice versa.
I think Hughes and Wenger are up to something mutually beneficial. Cesc will go for a massively overinflated fee.
You watch. I bet somehow Arsenal and Man City come out with what they want from this.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:17 pm
Nah, no way Wenger would sell him to City.
Wont happen for 2 reasons, 1) Fab wont ever go there 2) Arsene wont accept any bids for him at the moment.
We might have a very talented squad, but Fab was involved in 5 out of the 6 goals against Blackburn, was involved in the goal against Fulham, involved in 4 out of 6 at Goodison Park, etc… he is too important to us at the moment and technically more important to us atm than Ronaldo is to Madrid.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
City fan in peace. Please don’t tell me you believe this story. I’ve only experienced my team get linked with players like Cesc for a year or so now but I’ve already learned that 99% of what I read is complete rubbish. I would have thought Arsenal fans would know to disregard this story by now. I’m paying this about as much attention as I am the “Robbie to Barca” stupidity,.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:21 pm
………………..and they attempted, unsuccessfully to make moves for the likes of Kaka, Fernando Torres and our very own Cesc Fabregas……………….. except out of those players the only one we bid for was Kaka. Don’t believe all the nonsense the media sprout.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
No way will cesc agree to go to city for a NUMBER OF EASONS.
He can pay with playmakers of the calibre of arshavin, van persie and rosicky at arsenal, the only thing he would consider is gettign the chance to paly with the likes of, ronaldo his mate, kaka, messi, iniesta and ramos.
1) He has said he is going to see out the end of his contract an arsenal
2) He is not greedy and has turned down numerous attempts at a wage increase. as he feels the need to earn his 85k a week first.
3) He is an arsenal style player, and would find himself out of place among the overinflated egos of city.
4) Adebayor tried to snap his legs after cesc set him up for 15 goals in a season, there is no way in hell he would would want to paly with adebayor again.
5) Barcelonas game suits his playing style better and he came from spain,
6) He is an idol at arsenal and its captain (he wouldnt be offered that at city).
7) He gets on well with arsene wenger.
9) Before he came to England he probs had never heard of man city.
10) Wenger said he wouldnt sell cesc for 100m, as he would rather have a world class player than buy a bunch of second rate 1s. Arsenal have enough second rate players already.
11) Wenger sold ade because his ego is too big, and he didnt get on with bendtner so he had to get rid of one..
12) Wenger sold tuore because he didnt get on with gallas so he had to get rid of one, and he got alot more money for tuore than he would for gallas.
13) Do I need to go on?
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
you gotta be fuckin kidding me if you think we will actually sell cesc within the premiership. if he goes, which i dont expect for a few years, it will be to barca
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
Holy Shit Batman, Manchester City have fans, where did they come from. More Japanese tourists who can’t get Chelski tickets.
Crass remarks from a crass club with wank for fans.
Fabregas will be gone when he is surplus to requirements. There is better behind him and the next two years will be his swansong.
Manchester City bullying Real Madrid. wank, wank, wank.
For all the bullshit City are just Blackburn Rovers with salad dressing. A cunt for a Manager and has beens for players. Over by Christmas.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
Dont need him. Ireland is far more consistant and at the same level of ability. He would bring an unbalance to the team.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 6:55 pm
I agree, this is made up crap. Barca and RM are known to be courting the young spaniard. Though city can afford him, “do they need him” is another way to look at it… Even the forward thinking Ireland has admitted that the central midfield roll is now more of a holding and possession position, not an attacking position it once was at city. Fab is an attacking Center Mid and is too skilled at it to have a club think they should take him as a possession player. IMHO any rate.
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
Ah crap..no-one wants to play for Arsenal..we suck!!!!!!!

“and they attempted, unsuccessfully to make moves for the likes of Kaka, Fernando Torres and our very own Cesc Fabregas”
when the hell did we make moves for Fabregas or Torres ???!!!!!
think we can see who the naive deluded one is here…
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
Man City only got Toure and Ade because we were happy to let them go. Cesc would not want to go to City as he is driven by things other than money. They are deluded if they think they will get him.

Although this story is complete tosh it had me wondering just how much money would it take for me (us) to be happy with Fab going. £45million, I would feel we sold out a bit, but £100million I’m not sure anyone would say no to. Where in between? Thats an intriguing one.

Get a hold of yourselves for goodness sake City fans! Listen to you; “Bully Real Madrid”, “Stephen “my grannies dead” Ireland is better than Fabregas”, “if we want him we’ll get him”. Dear oh dear, don’t make fools of yourselves with this prematurely arrogant rubbish. Have some class! Yes you have a few quid and have some decent players now but woo up there. Win something first then maybe get cocky. Someone might actually take you seriously then. LMAO
anonymous - October 14th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
blackburn with salad dressing ! i like it lol its so true.thay got very luky with the arab money but it only gave them more paper inches.we are british and even we know newcastle are a bigger club.id even go as far as saying leeds are bigger club !!
chelsea done it but lets face it thay had a great manager.sinse he left NOTHING.
city will only get greedy bastard players who are there 4 the money and what make it worse is city fans accept it ?? richards is finished at city and as much as thay love ireland even his days are numbered coz thay want cesc !
hes an arsenal player like most of our team he signed his very fist cantract with us and that means something . its the only shirt hes ever played in and we love him/them coz we know thay love the club/manager/football/style and we love them !!!!
GOONERS

£45 million for one of the best players on the planet? I think not!! Barca and Real have already had 60 million pound offers rejected where has 45 million come from. Fabregas is a genius on the field and sharp off it too he realises if he leaves he will not be still in the bracket of greatest football players ever. Like Henry.
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 2:13 am
I think firstly fabs choice would be to stay at arsenal….
But if he did leave, his FIRST choice would be spain( barca)but i cant see them offering more than £35-£40m for him…
After all, this game is about MONeY and if man city really do want him, they can easily offer £60m+ for him, while doubling his wages…and later on he can always end his career at barca….
I think you gunner fans should take city alittle more seriously… As you have come to find ouy For yourselves, they have the muscle on and off the pitch now…
Every player has a price!
So i think the question is do man city actually want him and if so then dont be surprised to see him in a city shirt…….
They may come for wenger next :/
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 2:27 am
Why would Man City want Fabregas? City already have a much better team than Arsenal as the thrashing at Eastlands showed. Sorry but the cockney cunts who think Arsenal are anything other than a small club with fucking shite fans have got another thing coming.
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 2:38 am
I have never read such deluded comments from Arsenal fans. Dismissing Man City as a small team does you no credit. I used to be a fan of Arsenal but after seeing first hand the pathetic racist thuggery that Arsenal fans seem to enjoy so much, all respect is gone.
Arsenal are a small team of foreigners who will go in to freefall when they are no longer playing in the Champions League.
Febregas will go to Barcelona and, like all of Arsenal’s best players, he can’t wait to get away from the small minded club and its racist thugs.
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 4:35 am
Nahhhh rubbish!!! Cesc going to City is somewhat debatable….Wenger going to City???? Hahaha that is never ever ever going to happen, I’ll happily stake my life on that one. The Wenger philosophy is sooo in contrast with the Man City philosophy he will never!!!!
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 5:33 am
Ireland more consistent than Cesc. You got to be kidding. What is he more consistent at, Sucking balls?
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 5:48 am
do you really think cesc will leave the emirates just to be with just bunch of loosers? yes, they all have the money, they all have the spending power. but do money really can guarantee success? mr.wenger have much bigger idea for him. remember what happen to alex hleb when he left for barca? and how he regret it now? cesc will stay at the emirates as the captain of the club and surely be the icon at the emirates as mr.henry did at highbury.
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 7:15 am
fabregas should not sign 4 city,he should go 4 barca

anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 7:58 am
This has really riled the Arse fans, but it’s understandable they are all sh*tting themselves. Another club with money and Arsenal are a selling club. Wenger buy them young and big clubs come and take what they want.
I would have thought u muppets are used to selling players buy now, it happens every window!
And as for preaching about winning trophies, what a joke, isn’t your new cabinet still “as new, never been used”? In fact I’m sure the last trophy you lot won was when u got trounced by UTD and somehow got away with it and won on penalties.
Beautiful football my arse!
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 9:48 am
Don’t they teach you how to spell in London?…thay…cantract, loosers, wtf!
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 11:00 am
To Citizen Frank,
your right he will move on eventually, but at least we have had him as we are a great club, known all over the world and admired for our football, and incidently we happened to have a fair bit of silverware in our cabinet throughout our history.
Where as you are only the second best team in Manchester, you never win fuck all, you have a shit history and once the money man get bored you will go back to being the poxy club you always have been.
As for ‘mouthy cockneys’ well until this reply you were the only gobby one, but what else do you expect from a deluded, thick manc twat!!!
You won’t even finish in top four !!!!! Stick your blue moon up your arse.
Pat the gooner

UP THE CITY

If they offer 150M, then Arsenal might consider it. That is good for Champios league spot for 4 years. And offer him like 250k a week to sign him. If this is the offer, city can have him.
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
Yet more media nonsense, just ignore it all. A move this big wouldn’t happen over january they never do i can’t remember the last ‘big’ deal that happened in january(i’m sure some fly person will point it out). Cesc won’t move to city for a few reasons;
(1) Too much respect for Arsenal and Wenger.
(2) Honestly he just wouldn’t fit right.
(3) He wants to move to Spain.
(4) Wouldn’t want to play for any other teams in England.
That’s coming from a Manchester City fan, anyway we’re ok with Superman and Barry do just fine, much more grit and won’t disappear when things go badly like most little midfielders do. Anyway City for the title!!!
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 3:03 pm
Hmmm…
I think you guys have forgotten money talks and bullsheet walks!
Fab is not worth more than kaka or messi, great as he is.
Wenger is a great manager and knows that prices for players are silly at the mo… So i think he would cash in on a silly offer like £60m+
imagine what he could do with kinda money……
You could take over the world!!!
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Quite a good friend mine tells me, His brothers boss’s little sons best mates dad, who used to play down the marshes on a sunday, was coached by a guy who went to school with mark hughes cousins wife… But are are no longer mates…
So there is no info i can add to this story untill they make up….
But watch this space….
Im working on a builder, who done the lift conversion to fabs gardeners pad spain!!

Stick to going to the hard rock cafe after the match… City no fans no history ?? we won in Europe long before you did you dicks

you no logner support arsenal because they are racist thugs? You are a glory hunter and have a bad way of hiding it. Lets not forget city fans elephant cleaner taunts at ade last year. He obviously enjoyed em though as he went to city afterwards. Now as far as arsenal being racist, they have the highest number of black people supporting them in britain, and the highest black arsenal fan turn out to games at 9%. When you consider african english make up about 0.5% of the population max, 9% is pretty high.
When ever I talk to an african englishmen and as them what team they support, the answer is always the same; arsenal. Every time I ask an african englishmen which team they support now, I think its stupid question as I already knwo the answer. I am not racist personally, but I have a racist man u fan friend (I have talked him into hiding his racism, as he is genetically racist) and due to his influence I sometimes find myself thinking of arsenal as african english football club.
So you are just a poor excuse for a glory hunter and I am glad you no longer support arsenal, however all those african english support arsenal and will do regardless of its fortunes, so I dont care about your support as the african english support means way more. Especially as they are loyal! But yeh if your saying arsenal with its african english fan base is racist, you must be retarded. Yes I meant those 13 points and they are all fair if you think objectively.
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Im a liverpool fan and must say that man city are now looking like the team watch out for…
They lost 4-3 at man u(cheated) and beat a very in form arsenal team…
We got then next month and im not confident at all of that fixture…
Point being man city is no longer a small club and the money spent has been reflected in there results…
Anyone calling man city a small are in denial!
anonymous - October 16th, 2009 at 3:09 am
African englishman wtf is that????? Are you a joke or what, tell your friend to hide his racism??? Man your both sick go seek some help!!
anonymous - October 16th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
No your a retard, calling peeps black is racist just like calling people white. However we refer to english people we say english peeps we dont say white, when we refer to autralians, canadians, dutch, mexican or frenchl; we dotn refer to their skin colour but their name you NUMB SKULL! Therefore african peeps should be given the same common decency you and I enjopy, you SELFISH PRICK!
Retryboy - October 16th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Lmao! Got plenty of black mates and they are just english don’t think any of them would like being called african anything
anonymous - October 17th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
Yeh but if you have to bring attention to the colour of their skin, do it through calling em african english over saying black. I mean when your dealing with a asian dutch, you dont call em yellow dutch.
Retryboy - October 17th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
Black is not insulting its descriptive as is white its just political correctness gone mental and at least its accurate would think its more insulting to call someone african because of the colour of their skin if it was racist do you think they would have the mobo awards? If the skin colour is followed by an insult then obviously that is racism.
