Madrid – Atletico Madrid are having difficulties in the Spanish league are interested in the French midfielder from Lyon, Jeremy Toulalan, and Arsenal’s Ivorian defender Emmanuel Eboue, according to sports daily As on Thursday.

This isn’t the first time Atletico Madrid have shown an interest in Emmanuel Eboue and it would be interesting to see how the player and our boss would react if an actual bid came in for the £9m rated back up player.
We all know about the problems the Ivorian had after some shocking displays led to some sections of the Gunners crowd getting on his back, which in the long run didn’t do him any harm and perhaps made him buck up his ideas.
He is a very decent player to have in reserve in case of injuries and loss of form and can play in a number of positions to a pretty decent level. However in many ways perhaps both Arsenal Football club and Eboue himself would be better served if they went their separate ways.
Don’t get me wrong, I value his place in our squad, but surely he would like to get a steady run in a team and he won’t get that at the Emirates anytime soon.

The time might be right to offload Eboue. With lots of young talent coming through Emmanuel is going to find it harder and harder to get a first team spot

I rate Eboue but agree he ain’t going to make it at Arsenal so may as well sell him to the highest bidder

Hey Eboue is one player we need to hold onto. He is a fine utiliy player as you point out, all the more reason why we need to hold onto him. We don’t exactly have a team busting with players who can play in two/three areas. I think that if we sell him we may regret when the business end of the season kicks in and we lose some our players through injury. Keep him I say.

Definitely keep him.
An intelligent player. Shame he can’t shoot straight.
Very good in tight positions unlike Walcott.

THIS SEASON SO FAR HE HAS PROVED HE IS A VALUABLE ASSET TO THE CLUB, HE ALWAYS PLAYS WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND PLAYS ANYWHERE AN NEVER COMPLAINS, HE IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL APART FROM HIS DIVING LOL

keep eboue . he is a truley perfect RWM and RB and MD no one in Arsenal squad can play in all this positions , although Arsenal have to let some experienced players in the lineup , some are thomas rosicky, and william gallas shouldnot leave . [ he is a rock ] only if micah richards came , ARSENE can sell him. but with out an experienced defender and MD and attacker in the lineup .
ARSENAL WELL FALL ,….. ( which i hope not)

even if he could only play RB who else (sagna excluded) could we play there? we need eboue!!!!!!

If common sense prevails then Eboue stays!

Bit part player’ Youe englissh nuimties no nothing about football.
Eboue is Arsenal best rightback.
I wish we could move Arasenal to spain ,africa or italy cuz frankly its english fans arent smart smart enough to support a team this good

Leave Eboue alone.
The guy tries hard to please and I always welcome it when he does score.
He is good in many positions and I dare say he could fill in any role (except our no1 penalty taker…hmm).
Lets not witch hunt but support the team, as we all know they will be injury riddled before the season is through and Eboue will probably have to fill in many positions.

Well wenger has hinted he might retire next year, and I dont think ots any coincidence that his statement came the year before the 6+5 rule. Can you imagine wenger in a 6+5 rule league?
Anyway wenger or the new manager who take over arsenal, will have to clear out some foriegn players, maybe not eboure but his departure has to be considered.
But yeh it might be the case that whether retires or not depends on whether the 6+5 rule gets passed; and it wouldnt surprise me to see wenger retire in protest.

Well he may be eyeing up the french managers job at the same time, considering their recent lack of success…
anonymous - October 15th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
6-5 rule is a joke!!!!!! Eboue has to stay!!!!
anonymous - October 16th, 2009 at 1:08 am
Don’t mind him goin but who will cover at right back?
anonymous - October 16th, 2009 at 1:58 am
DON’T LET HIM GO!!!’
He’s becoming one of our important member of the squad, yes he’s still quite average comparing to others, but mind the fact he’s versatile,he’s not a crybaby like Adeshit,he’s a professional and always think of ways to improve his play..he’s one squad player who we will not find easily today…so plz don’t sell him..i’m sure if given the chance,he can develop more and become a great player..it’s all in the attitude..

I dont want eboue leave us now coz eboue is gud and utility player that cn play in any positn or wing on the pitch.
anonymous - October 16th, 2009 at 7:58 am
definitely keep eboue. he will be sold and then the fans will start saying that we need to buy new players. our problem is not that we dont buy. its that we dont keep our best talents. i would DEFINITELY keep eboue if it were up 2 me. would be a sad day if we do sell him.
anonymous - October 16th, 2009 at 9:39 am
eboue is a top performer and it’ll be another mistake to loose him

£11million will be a good bargain
