The £15m Striker Arsenal Would be Wise to Consider Taking a Risk On: Klaas Jan Huntelaar

New Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri is keen on recruiting AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, according to reports.
The 26-year-old Dutch international – who was linked with Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur during the close-season – netted 76 league goals in 92 appearances for Ajax.
But he has found matching that form difficult since leaving Holland for Real Madrid last January, making only 20 la Liga appearances for the Bernabeu outfit in the second half of last season.Huntelaar departed after just six months following the high-profile arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Karim Benzema, joining Milan for 15 million euros.
But he has again struggled to make an impression with his new club, failing to net in his opening seven Serie A games as the Rossoneri have slumped to 12th place in the table.
As a result, reports have already begun listing potential January arrivals and departures to help revive the San Siro side’s season, with Huntelaar linked with a swap deal involving Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko. But, according to the Milan Channel, Mazzarri – who has only recently been appointed following the exit of ex-Italy coach Roberto Donadoni – has identified Huntelaar as a winter transfer window target for the Partenopei. (Four Four Two)
Arsene Wenger was looking with real interest into buying Klaas when he made his move from Ajax to Real Madrid, a move that appeared to go tits up but has now been bettered in the ‘tits-up’ stakes by his move to AC Milan where he is still yet to score and going down like a lead balloon with the San Siro fans who needed some cheering up after seeing Kaka flee.
We have a lot of quality up front at the Emirates and with an in form Eduardo alongside the mercurial RVP we have a dream team, but it hasn’t quite hit the peaks mainly because injury to one or both has prevented them as a pairing getting much pitch time together.
Huntelaar and RVP are a good combination strike force and perhaps that is what Arsene had in mind when he first took an interest in the former Ajax man who is now desperately seeking a move away from Serie A. It may be a tad over indulgent to bring in another top notch striker but then it could well do the trick. We are scoring goals for fun at the moment but the lions share of the goals have come from the midfield and the defenders, which is always a bonus.

Forget Klass, go for Menez at Roma, be cheaper and will suit Wenger more. True.

10 years ago, no 5 years ago a player like this would of been perfect. But now Centre Forwards require more than just a good finish. Strikers have evolved. If they are not Fast,Powerful,Intelligent the Top four dont wanna know. Rooney,Drogba,Defoe,Torres,Adebayor, these players have set the bar high and the top teams aint gonna fork out lots of CASH for players that can just finish. ie Micheal Owen,Van Nistelrooy,Raul,Huntelaar- (all have been/at Madrid- funny that!)

What’s wrong with some of these people we need a DM and maybe even a CB to cover injuries and African cup not a striker, cos we have more than enough goal scorers

wenger should go for gignac, he is fast and strong. getting him would be easy since he is french. Plus, he has the one thing missing in all our strikers- a good right foot.
