Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero has admitted he is flattered to be linked with a move to Chelsea.
The Blues are understood to be long-term admirers of the 21-year-old and Aguero could have only enhanced his appeal with two stunning goals in their midweek UEFA Champions League clash.
Aguero is one of the most sought-after players in Europe following his goalscoring exploits at Atletico over the last few seasons.
Atletico are thought to have rejected an offer from Chelsea for Aguero in the summer, with the Spanish side keen to keep hold of their prize asset.
Aguero admits he is happy to be attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea, but insists that he is happy to stay at the Vicente Calderon.
“I know that people were saying they (Chelsea) wanted me during the summer and that there were several teams tracking me but nothing ever came to me and I am happy at Atletico,” Aguero told AS.
“It’s nice that people say I could play in a team like Chelsea, one of the best in the world.
“I like it (Chelsea’s interest) and it makes me happy but I am the same person as ever and I think the same as before. (Sky Sports)
Atletico Madrid have started their La Liga campaign in horrid fashion and currently find themselves in an unthinkable relegation spot at present and their Champions League form has also been very poor with Aguero’s goals in their midweek draw with Chelsea one of the few plus points of the season.
The 21 year old Argentine international is a hot prospect and if his Madrid side fail to turn the corner and make it up the table for an unlikely Champions League finish this term then it does seem very likely ‘Kun’ will seek a move away from the Vicente Calderon.
Valued at around £35m a move for the former Independiente striker will not be a cheap one but given his potential and pedigree he may well be a bargain even at that price.

100 years, one club, one ground.
“And oh yea,you might get to join in the cups shopping”
Yes, because all other top clubs get their players on free transfers or raise them themselves don’t they? Rooney, Ferdinand, Van Der Sar, Vidic, Evra, Berbatov etc. etc. are all surely home grown united players. Torres, Reina, Babel, Skrtel, Mascherano, Lucas etc etc. are all surely home grown Liverpool players. And arsenal, well i’ll just say Walcott and leave it at that.
If you want to talk football then learn some facts and reality before running your mouth,

Chelsea are the oldest club currently in the Premier League, they may not have won as much trophies as some other clubs due to not investing in big names, only in recent years have they done this and with that comes the trophies, they will be the biggest club for at least the next 50 years.

Yes that is true, we have not won the Champions League yet, however, i believe Notts Forest have won the Champions League or European Cup as it was then known twice, back to back in fact from 78 – 80, so i’m assuming that in your eye’s they are one of the most dominant, powerful football clubs in the world today?
Because if not, then you have shot yourself in the foot, and if you truly believe that CFC wont win the Champions League in the next 50 years then you really do not watch football at all.
CFC SM, peace out.
