Manchester United winger Nani could be on his way out of Old Trafford despite assurances from United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Nani future has come intense speculation as he has struggled to live up to expectations, since his £14 million move from Sporting Lisbon, two seasons ago.
The Portuguese international is still only 22, is concerned about his position at the club, that he could be a surplus requirement.
United star Nani plans sit down with Fergie to find out exactly where he stands.
A united source said: “ Nani believed his chance had finally come following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, but the rumors just won’t go away and he is looking for answers.”
The winger is now being linked with a move away to either Atletico Madrid or Villarreal.
Spanish giants, Atletico see Nani as a replacement for Maxi Rodriguez and are keen to setup an initial loan deal. Whilst Villarreal could use Nani as cover for new signing Sporting Lisbon Matias Fernandez (Give Me Football)
I think its fair to say that Nani hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory during his two and bit years at Old Trafford and in many ways he may find himself overtaken at the club by new boy Gabriel Obertan who has impressed greatly in his cameo roles for the club.
The Portuguese International has improved this season and will find himself getting more first team starts but still needs to prove himself to Sir Alex and on far too many occasions he flatters to deceive.
On many occasions he tries one too many tricks and can be incredibly greedy and I don’t think that Ferguson would lose any sleep over a potential departure if Nani made it clear he wanted to leave then I am pretty sure the United boss wouldn’t think twice about cashing in on him.

no a good idea would be to sell him, even for 2m, and if part of a kun deal even better. he can shoot, but much else of vslue. good at selfish play, losing the ball, rolling round like he has been shot, sand head butting opponents (then roll………..lucas niell). Cut your losses, see hwether obertan or tosic can offer more after their 3rd season……

Nani is not united-class, but also i would have to mention Neville (past it) Foster & Valencia in the same breathe, clearly not upto the job. Nani is terrible and for me he has never even had the potential to be a great player, gives the ball away far too much, is more of a hinderance when he tracks back, shooting is very erratic, passing is completely awful so i think 12m for Nani is a great price, maybe we could offload hargreaves and show neville the door aswell. I Am a manchester united fan but i think united and inparticular Fergie has to learn that he has got it completely wrong this season, how can you justify selling the best player in world football and signing a past it striker and a wigan reject for 17m, total waste of money. hes wasted over 100m now which could have been put to much better use,. hargreaves 17m, anderson 20m, nani 15m, valencia 17m, berbatov 32m.
