aul baconface was right then. sometimes u really do lose faith in referees
Ryan Babel - November 9th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Well done david Ngog and johnson. Unlucky again, Riera and Benaoun get injured and we draw with them getting a lucky shot, although we got a dodgy penalty. But once AGAIN we deserved to win and didn’t.
Good to see aquilani
Retryboy - November 9th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Why did rafa leave it till 8 mins left to ditch the 2 defensive midfielders and bring aquilani on? Why was benayoun not the link man from the start instead of kuyt?
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
didnt see enough of aquilani to make a judgement altho looked as if he was playing out of position…took up a lucas type role…rather than a gerrard type role.
Ngog played well…johnson was outstanding…
I think if riera had stayed on wed have won, he provided natural width and bham couldnt cope with it.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
hartlfc here . at end of the day playing birmingham at anfield is amust win. i have been one of the biggest lucas critics but tonight icouldnt believe he was subbed 100% more attacking minded well done to him .not much wrong with performance second half except we didnt win. johson brilliant gerrard makes a massive difference .not much to say ,played them off the park.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
kuyt rubbish cant control the ball we need a right winger .. kuyt on bench jonhson on wing martin kelly right back .
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
Just how can that Benitez play 5 defenders in a home game:Agger, skrtel, insua, mascherano n lucas…n johnson is better than kuyt as a winger, kuyt is crap
nanaghlfc - November 9th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
i’m beginning to think our problem is spiritual.
How on earth can you be down at half time in a 70-30 display.
c’mon Capello this is a friendly game and Glen Johnson who’s just returned has been named, Pls cut us some slack.
it’s as if everything and everyone is against us.
Aquillani has the sense and skill but lacks match fitness,
Ngog very brilliant but lacks experience,
almost everybody in the team is just returning from injury and just when they are returning, Riera & Benayoun get knocks.
MAY GOD HELP US.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
first thing to do is get rid of benitez . he has not got a clue .late with subs god help us
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
Don’t know what to say anymore. A draw’s no good. We’re seventh and we’re risking big time now. Can Rafa turn this around? Not sure anymore. He said he would but I think the pressure’s getting to him. Someone gotta do something about the situation but who?
I think most of the players have lost faith in Rafa and need a new direction. I think it’s pointless to keep hoping in Rafa. It’s all over.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
FUCKIN CHEAT NGOG !!!!
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
that’s it ive had enough of rafa’s shite he plays player’s back from injury and leaves player’s like babel on the bench, when it was to late we should have kept sami hyypia at least we would not be pissing in goals we did’nt conced that many till after christmas last season, they should change the sign on the wall going on to the pitch from the dressing room’s to this is anfield to this is bullshit.because it’s quite clear thre player’s don’t want to play for rafa and they are fed up of his system mark my word’s he will be sacked soon and king kenny will take over at least he won the title the last time he was in charge and i rather him now than that sinking spainish armarda if you agree just say in your comment, i love liverpool fc but that manager rafa has just made us the laughing stock of english football and world football, bye bye rafa you suck.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
should have kuyt off in the 80th lucas was playing the best football i have seen from hjm or was that just me.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
the problem is benitez kuyt not good enough.why we were down 2..1 was lack of quality up front and in the center you dont play lucas and mashcarano together.that is a fact
Benji - November 9th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
Evening Retryboy,
Not sure what to make of this game… It seems like opportunities lost… again
On the one hand we saw Ngog who is improving with every match, score which will help his confidence and we saw the debut of Aquilani and the return of Gerrard…. Johnson was amazing down the right hand side and was involved in everything early on…
However we saw nasty injuries to the recently returned Reira and the playmaker Benayoun who has been the most improved from last season by far…
We dominated the match but failed to capitalise on opportunities…. Gerrard received a penalty that he shouldn’t have yet Jerome caught us out at the back with his wonder goal…
Retryboy - November 9th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Its the system thats the problem. We don’t need 2 defensive midfielders at home to birmingham!! Why can’t players get into the team on form? Babel bangs in a goal like that midweek makes things happen kuyt has done nothing for a month, riera rushed back from injury rather than giving babel a chance.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
PAUL, where 11 point’s behind chelski we can forget the title and we can forget europe the fa cup is all that we have left unless we go for the uefa cup again. rafa has to go i think the players want a change and i think the fans do too.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
liverpool wont get to the first 4 thats fure sure and this will be there worst
season…lol in ainfield 2-2 wat the fuk is liverpool deserved to win
they deserved to loose……
Benji - November 9th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
Retryboy,
I have to agree… rafa seems to have his favourites without giving Babel a real chance… Especially after the goal he has scored… Some people criticise him but if he was given some opportunities instead of 10 minutes to perform then perhaps he would be more confident… and as for why rafa plays 2 defensive midfielders is beyond me… He could have started gerrard or Aquilani instead of Mascha or Lucas….
We also concede a goal froom a set play….. AGAIN….
nanaghlfc - November 9th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
A look at our display today and you should not really fault Rafa, Yes may be the subs came in late. but what would you have done if you were Rafa take of Bena and bring in Babbel if he didn’t get injured, you & i know that boy is no good. we have a fairly good team we just need a world class left back who provide us with what Johnson provides us on the right. May be the young Brazilian Andreas Santos could be the solution. Insua is good but certainly not there yet. and i almost forgot how much did we buy Kuyt for?
isaac hunt - November 9th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
just bad luck tonight (excluding penalty) and when things are bad we never seem to get any luck.
there are still a few things that make me very angry tho.
1. KUYT DOES NOT DESERVE TO PLAY FOR LIVERPOOL. he is probably the best defensive winger in the prem but when has liverpool had a defensive winger? he cant cross, he cant dribble, he cant shoot the only thing he can do is work hard!
2.i cannot belive how much skrtel has gone down hill in the last 6 months. today he was outjumped for the first goal and then gave a hospital ball for the second goal. i really think we need to get a new centre defender in. those who played for brum are better than skrtel. that roger johnson is a very good player.
3.lucas played well and is looking a solid if unspectacular player but why does he always give silly free kicks away? if he didnt give that first free kick away we would have more than likely won.
johnson was awesome and ngog had a good game but tonight we were just unlucky! fans didnt help us either!
YNWA
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
N’gog diving scum hope he gets same treatment Eduardo did Birmingham were robbed tonight of 2 points by drama and acting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
to me it comes across that either rafa likes you or he doesnt babel could score 4 goals a game and still not start yet kuyt will always play .lets go back to 442 with gerrard back in cm. babel and ngog should have started upfront. hartlfc
Retryboy - November 9th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
He just doesn’t learn!! When your right back is your best attacker there is a huge problem
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
lucas is only playing well now cause he’s afraid aquilani will be taking his place if lucas played like that in the first place then he wouldn’t have got a lot of stick from the fans, kuyt is looking past his best and we need a right sided winger quick, bring in king kenny a fresh new look will help, rafa will be sacked in the morning i think the owners will have seen enough the rot has to stop rafa spent 230m in 5 years he bought 76 players in that time that’s about 5 or 6 football teams that has to be worse than houllier did.
isaac hunt - November 9th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
gerrard and aqulani werent fit people! do you think rafa wants to keep them on the bench??????
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
YES IT IS NOW TIME FOR SOMEONE TO STEP IN AND SAVE LIVERPOOL HE HAS SOLD BETER PLAYERS AND KEPT SHIT.WHY DID HE EGNORE GERRARD ADVICE ABOUT TAKING OWEN BACK..ALL LIVERPOOL FANS WE NEED TO SHOUT BENITEZ OUT NEXT GAME ..GET DALGLISH IN THERE NOW WE CANT GET ANY WORSE .IF HE STAYS WE ARE FUCKD
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:42 pm
the game felt to me like a pre-season friendly
Retryboy - November 9th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
Nanaghlfc why does it take us going 2-1 down to attack? Birmingham are relegation favourites struggled to score goals all season. Would have started the game with mascherano and aquilani in the centre. Benayoun behind ngog and babel starting. We let them into the game we should be rolling over the likes of birmingham once they had that platform of course its a back to the wall every man back job and we have to break them down.
isaac hunt - November 9th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
retryboy
“When your right back is your best attacker there is a huge problem”
if pele was playing today he wouldnt have been better than johnson. i have never seen a better performance from a right back. i agree that benayoun is a million miles more effective than kuyt in behind the strikers. and if we did ditch the 2 defensive midfielders as soon as we scored the pen then im sure we would have won. we did deserve to win and its a game that we should just forget about.
nanaghlfc - November 9th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
how on earth does Kuyt get 10 votes for man of the match? Do haters also vote @ liverpoolfc.tv? He was without doubt the worst man in red today? Johnson is spectacular and happens to be more creative than our striker turned right winger. that man should be ashamed of himself. maybe Rafa should switch their roles and see what happens.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
AGREE KUYT HAS TO GO MY GRANN COULD PLAY BETTER
kermit - November 9th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
yes i agree aquilani was played out of position thats nothing new mr benitspaz in charge is it, i feared as much that he d take aquilani and try make him into alonso like a pleb that he is
agrees with isaac hunt to a point
1 kuyt is extremely limited as a right attacker, but then again he is a centre forward, spazzy benitez again, and kuyt is quite a good goal poacher , but its time to drop him and give babela run on the right side
2 lucas played well and didnt deserve to be taken off , i feel that taking him off fucked up our momentum. he does give away too many free kicks , but by god did he make a lot of tackles tonight, and the free kick he gave away to lead to the goal could ve happened to anyone , i m not blaming him for that
3 yeah skrtel has lost the plot , a january bid for kjaer or hangeland
to anonymous 11 36 i fucking hate lucas bashers, you are a moron, he arrived fr4om brazil prob from his family home to england not knowing the language as a kid, just dont post anything else you fucking idiot
glen johnson was superb
gerrard once again reaffirmed his class
i grow weary of telling people what a good player lucas is and what a fucking fantastic player he is going to become, he made so many good challenges tonight, plus he had a couple of attempts at goal, well wide but its a sign of confidence
rafa bringing on aquilani after 82 mins , pointless, and to take lucas off , even more pointless
sell mascherano, hes just a limited footballer
kuyt gets goals but often plays poor cant cross for shit , but the he is a goal poacher
i have two gripes with benitez ,
1 his lack of any reasoined sense in his substitutions during a game
2 taking good players in their positions , curbing their natural game to make them something they are not eg kuyt striker to rw, babel striker to lw, lucas attacking midfielder to defensive midfielder, if he does the same with aquilani , i m finished with him totally, he will lose any support he has ever had from me
Retryboy - November 9th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Its all about the balance 3 work horses in a 5 man midfield with one striker doesn’t work just leaves 3 to create and a rampaging full back who was awesome because he wanted to make things happen. Aquilani is totally fit just needs minutes for match sharpness straight out of rafa’s mouth before the game.
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Its very rare that you ever here that a good offense lies in a good defense, it is always the best form of defense is a good offense. So why cant that pathetiic fat piece of sh*t realizwe the reason we are leaking so many SOFT goals, is because our midfielders have little to no attacking style of play. This was prehaps the best game the hobbit has played, and yet the problem still remains, teams find it so easy to run at us, and even with 6 defensive minded players, we cant keep goals out. The hobbit and masch, it just isnt working. Rafa will keep using them to save face, and the poor results will continue. Rafa is just a pathetic tactician & manager. Kuyt…..he continues to play someone who is so hopelessly out of form, and lacks creativity and skill despite his “hard work ethic”. The hobbit…..played ok 2nite but that does not mean he should be started because he has 1 good game in 10. Mas ……hopeless, should be sold in jan. Babel…would not surprise me if, a new manager comes in (we can only hope), will be used in kuyt position and will be a real threat down that right wing. Ngog, gr8 game, on that sort of form, he would make a good partner for torres. But all this is purely academic as rafa has just lost us the league, the champs, and the cup. IN RAFA WE MIS-TRUST. Rafa out!
kermit - November 9th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
oi yanks sign up fabio capello as our new boss now
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
im sick of my fellow liverpool fans saying it was bad luck tonight that’s the same shite rafa comes out with it was not bad luck. was it bad luck at fulham or lyon no it was bad tatics and putting the wrong team, out i don’t care what anyone else says, to lucas go and shite your crap crap and crap your only playing well cause your afraid you might loose your place soon and be sold of to to a shite team. he has no one else to blame, we need 2 more strikers and 2 central defenders and 2 winger’s and maybe another goal keeper reina is looking a bit dogey these days and no one has noticed that rafa bugger off. bring back king kenny id say if you asked stevie g the truth he would tell you its cause of rafa. rafa would not listen to fans so it goes to show he does not care what the fans think a lot of fans wanted him to buy david silva and david villa and rafa would not budge the yank’s would have given him the money.
kermit - November 9th, 2009 at 11:53 pm
capello , mourinho, hiddink,
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:54 pm
Liverpoolfc.tv is an absolute joke. The moderators all work for the club and tow the club line. i.e no criticism of the managment is allowed, kuyt is the greatest ever player, and rafa is capable of walking on water. They are as big a joke as rafa being a good manager. It is a sh*T site, and the design layout is appauling. Worst of all the prem. league clubs
baggins09 - November 9th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
i agree with retryboy he doesn’t learn and never will time to look for a new gaffa i think, before we miss out on europa cup aswell he just isn’t the right man to take us forward,
he doesn’t learn from his mistakes and refuses to adapt change formations. if plan A fails he just tries plan A again and again. he’s one of the most tatically inept managers in the league he’s a joke and im not even gonna go into substitutions or team selections or starting line ups or blind faith in poor players or destroying the confidence of promising young players or playing unfit players to accomodate his precious formation.
mancini is out of work at the minute we should give him a call
anonymous - November 9th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
78% possession and 25 shots, johnson had a fantastic game.i bet when all our players are fully fit we will be hammering teams, time we signed a right winger, just read the blog at gamebetting. co .uk and the solution of who we should buy and sell is there.
kermit - November 9th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
if rafa plays aquilani out of position then i m joining the rafa out brigade
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:00 am
we should play ryan babel on the right
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:01 am
ny the way really impressed with ngog, watched hm against arsenal and felt he was direct enough and that he ou to learn from torres and tonight he just ran staright through them , won a penalty, well done david
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:03 am
We have the quality of player we have quality youngsters its tactics, formations, decisions that let us down can’t believe we had to cheat disgracefully to draw level with a side likely to be relegated. Look at what mcleish had available compared to rafa tonight i mean jesus he had vignal in the team!
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:03 am
mancini or johan cruyff or barney the dinosaur or me
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:03 am
RAFFA OUT …. ALL BAD TRADEMEN BLAME THE TOOLS ..PLEASE YANKS GET RID OF BAD RUBBISH
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:06 am
yeap agrees totally with what retro boy just said
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:06 am
Money issues aside……at some point the yanks would have to think ” can we afford to have such a pathetic manager at the helm.” The season is over, so now is the time for a clear-out. Dont be like rafa owners and act too late, act NOW and get rid of rafa. In RAFA WE MIS-TRUST
Benji - November 10th, 2009 at 12:07 am
Evening Kermit & Baggins09,
We can dream of a new manager but i dont think it will happen because of the 20m clause in the contract… however i would love to Hiddink (perhaps after his spell in Russia after the WC). Afterall Hiddink is a fantastic manager who seems to win wherever he goes… He took the Netherlands to 4th in the 98WC, South Korea to 4th, in the 2002 WC, Australia to the 2nd Round in the 2006 and rescued Chelsea after Scolari….
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:07 am
i preferd it when we were drawing all the time at least we got a point out of the game i think rafa let last season go to his head. rafa bugger off to real madrid you know that’s where you want to go i beleive that is why he sold alonso to them cause he new he might get the job there soon cause he would not get gerrard and i think he will try to bring torres with him, his head is turned and i think he wants to get get sacked so he can go there where he will have lots of money don’t forget rafa spainish teams sack managers quicker than english teams so if you don’t win on your first season with real though shit you had a good thing at anfield you moran, so if you do go there don’t come back here you told the fans when you came to anfied give me 5 years and i will win the leauge well rafa this is year five and where 11 points behind after what a 11 games your so full of shit, and this season is the worst in 50 years you would need a miracle to win the league this season.
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:09 am
aquilani was fully fit but lacking match practice , yet riera also lacking match fitness and recovering froma hamstring injury was started , and he did look good, nah another blunder from benitspaz
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:11 am
You have urself to blame u f**king useless sh*t rafa. Pre season u were saying the title is ours. Every other day there was a story on how we will go 1 better, well you built up our expectations rafa, now you have screwed it all up, SO DONT BE SURPRISED THAT WE HAVE TURNED ON YOU. You havent got a clue on how to win the league. You are stubborn, un-imaginitive, and totally without class. Rafa OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:13 am
evening benji, and yeah hiddink has a good track record , i d be happy if we brought in capello for next season, gerrard knows him so does johnson and he is also proven
i would trust capello to do a good job even more than hiddink
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Mancini is a great call baggins. Its not the liverpool way to call for the manager to be sacked but us missing the top four would have the same effect as a birmingham getting relegated. I have no faith in rafa turning things around think the time is now for the owners to be brave international break can’t see it happening though the in rafa we trust brigade scare the owners too much. 2/3 performances this year have been worthy of the liverpool name. Mancini could save our season.
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:18 am
You only have to pay a sacked managers wages until he gets a new job £20m is his 5 year contract he wouldn’t be out of work for half a year even.
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:18 am
at the end of the game i was happy wiht how we played , unhappy about the result , happy to see gerrard back , what a classy footballer he is, he is on another level entirely to masch and lucas, but where i think lucas has potential to get better i dont think masch does
masch 30 million and kuyt 15 million out, for as much as we can get for them
steven defour 12 million and jovetic 20 million and suarez 20 million in, rafa not out yet but getting there, still the same stupid mid game decisions
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:20 am
i still say capello after the world cup, hoipefully real will come in for benitez and we wont have to pay him a penny
Benji - November 10th, 2009 at 12:21 am
Capello would be good but he would emand a lot of $$$ Money that Pool doesnt have right now… Sure he would be a great manager and would bring in some quality english players…
PS… I read somewhere the other day that he has one the domestic league of every team he has managed… Anyone now if this is true???
As for Mancini… I would love to have him also… @ Inter he won trophies galore…
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:24 am
THE YANYS … IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO SACK BENITEZ PUT KING KENNY JOINT MANAGER AND WITH THE LAST SAY ON TEAM SELECTION .. THAT WILL PISS BENITEZ RIGHT OFF . HE WILL THEN WALK
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:25 am
we play man city next game and they have a good squad can’t see us keeping a clean sheet besides 20m the yanks would use it to get rid of him than let him waste it on shite players in january, rafa had money and wasted it all when you think about it he brought in bad players and he brought them in dribs and drabs and when you add it up you could have bought top quaility players with it. he said he bought them for cover not very good cover id have more cover under a fisher man’s net than that, just bad excuses and blaming the owners for not getting enough money, if i was manager i would’nt have sold crouch or alonso, and i would have bought gareth barry instead of moaning about the price tag that’s where he goes wrong he does’nt mind spending 10m on shite but won’t pay 18m on quaility.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:25 am
1 win in 9 games, for fuck sake benitez what the fuck are you doin man….can anyone see liverpool winning anything under Rafa benitez….we may have been close to the premiership last season but it was only cus the other top teams played crap…walk on Rafa, shut the door on the way out.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:25 am
Good post retry and kermit. If the yanks are scared of the in rafa we trusters, we should get behind the in rafa we mis-trust brigade. Kuyt and mas I think would ne at best 35 – 40 mill, but we could do a lot with that. (providing raf doesnt get to spend it)
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:30 am
Capello won italian league with milan loads of times they used to call his team the invincibles gullit, van basten, rijkaard best team i ever saw. Won it with roma as well bigger achievement smaller club. He’s had 2 goes at madrid won titles both times 2nd time he was there they hadn’t won anything for years sure he has won in another league too maybe germany might be wrong there though.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:33 am
AGREE SELL KUYT MASH VORONIN LUCAS OK AS A SUB DONT LET RAFFA SPEND IT OR WE WILL GET MORE CRAP
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:33 am
paul ! don’t worry these people who are in rafa we trust will not be for much longer if we loose to man city which is a dead cert then i think the fans at anfield will have something to say about the matter ive never in my whole time as a pool fan seen such lack of respect for the jersey some players expect to be breast fed at every match and expect the same 3 or 4 players to do all the donkey work, liverppol where crap under graham souness cause he was shite but the way things stand at the moment rafa is getting fairly close guys.
Benji - November 10th, 2009 at 12:34 am
Cheers Retryboy….
Not a bad record indeed… Perhaps he could add WC to his list after 2010… personally my pick is spain but he may pull it off…
Either way i think that Pool needs a change of managerso that changers are made within the team, the lineup, the youth etc…
Good to see that the owners are improving if only a little…..
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:36 am
capello has england winnign all their games, has won leagues everywhere , you can just see that he has the total respect of his players even gerrard, i for one would like this
capello in benitez out
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:37 am
it’s ridiculous u are talking about other manager’s.
benji wrote
As for Mancini… I would love to have him also… @ Inter he won trophies galore…
yeah and benitez won trophies @ valencia beating barca and real to the league in 2 seasons out of 3 with a much smaller team
mancini won trophies when juve were relegated and ac milan and fiorentina deducted points.
liverpool have had such a bad injury crises and real fans do not slag off the manager or team, that is the spirit of liverpool f.c. and the reason why we are so different and unique to any other team, the reason why we can never be written off.
so understand the true meaning of being a liverpool fan or fuck off and support your local team, wherever you come from as it is not liverpool
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:38 am
i could remeber gullit van basten but couldnt for the life of remember rijkaards name, i was gonna refer to him as the dutch guy that spat on rudi voller, capello is the man for liverpool
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:39 am
GET RID TOMORROW HE WILL SELECT SAME TEAM BEST PLAYERS ON BENCH .. IF YOU SUPPORT RAFFA GOD HELP US
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:40 am
Mancini freed himself recently he was still getting paid by inter for sitting on his ass he was either freeing himself for madrid or us i think we need to move quick guarantee another manager would have nemeth straight back first plane and up front with torres.
Benji - November 10th, 2009 at 12:41 am
Now all we need is for Pelegrini and Real to continue their average form and then madrid may do us a favor and take Benitez off our hands….

thats no excuse for losing the title this early in the season, i seem to remember man utd had a lot of injuries and went on to win the league cause they had quaility players to cover the injured players so you don’t know what your talking about, its down to bad tactics end of and rafa should go go go.
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 12:43 am
i think appointing dalglish wouldnt be a good step, it would be going backwards , i actually believe kenny was only brougt back to the club because of the respect torres has for him, so that if benitez was sacked kenny would play a big role in torres s decision about his future.

Anonymous at 12.37 suppose you know more about the liverpool way than Ronnie whelan or alan hansen then? Whelan has stated he wants him out. Hansen said “i wouldn’t say to sack the manager because i never had the guts to take the position” whats liverpool about giving up on games like fulham. Whats liverpool about rafa’s style of play. Whats liverpool about losing game after game? I support liverpool not rafa why don’t you change club when he goes!

WELL IF YOU CANT SEE THE PROBLEM WITH BENITEZ BE READY FOR THE WORSE WE HAVE GON BACK INSTED . THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM AT LFC AND IT IS BENITEZ WE NEED TO FIX IT NOW SACK HIM TOMORROW OR WE WILL BE THE SAME AS NEWCASTLE WAKE UP FOR FUCK SAKE
Reds Lewis - November 10th, 2009 at 12:49 am
not convinved masch deserves a new contract yet.
Should have played aquilani instead of mascherano today.
Lucas can defend the back 4 on his own…we dont need 6 defenders.
I can see us losing to man city….infact I hope we do now..and i hope we get drilled 5-0 with Benitez getting fired as the end result…
Maybe the new deal with standard chartered (20m) funnily enough will be used to kick rafa out
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 12:49 am
don’t come out with this spirit of liverpool to us cause we are liverpool fans that have seen enough crap already and every team in england can see we are playing bad and they are all up for beating us, and don’t make excuses about injuries for rafa he should have bought better players to cover the injured then we would not be in this mess this other ANONYMOUS think’s its the fans fault well it is’nt, it’s the managers fault i bet your from liverpool tv and if you are get lost, the spirit of liverpool fc is the fans and the players not the bloody manager who has lost his head and soon to loose his job.
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:52 am
What makes this season worse is no one else is outstanding in the title race united are weaker than they have been for years chelsea and arsenal are looking the best but far from unbeatable the title race is wider open than ever and we are out of it already!

ys we have injuries , but the reasons i would rather see benitez go are as follows
1 poor formations and misjudgement of lineups , ie voronin playing against lyon
2 lack of any balls to make key decisions during the game, note benitspaz s own comments about how he didn not want to change the shape at lyon with lucas and masch in the middle, this was his excuse for missing the glaringly obvious idea of playing aquilani in the hole
3 his poor man management of excellent players eg ryan babel , robbie keane , peter crouch
4 ruining players by playing them out of position, curbing their natural games to suit his system, eg robbie keane playing left wing, kuyt right wing , babel left wing , lucas defensive midfield , and now he will i am certain play aquilani as a holding midfielder which leads me to
5 considering rafa wants to mould players to his sytem why has he not bought the correct players to fit the said system.
In fairness to rafa he has done a good job in general over the years, but i am not and never have been an in rafa we trust kind of fan.his failings will go on in this vein until he has left us which i would rather to be sooner than later . however i dont think think we should bin him til we have someone even better lined up and heres where capello , not mancini comes in
sorry to disagree with you retro about mancini , great player doesnt have enough experience as a manager for my money
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 12:58 am
Was it rafa’s tactics that won the european cup or carraghers one man defence on the way and gerrard dragging us back in the final. Who won the fa cup rafa or gerrard? Give you a clue its called the gerrard final when he won it single handed on one leg!

I realise that Benitez won trophies at Valencia and he has won trophies here… but he has had five years and has spent rid=iculous amounts of money yet we do not have strength in depth to even rival the Spurs….
Right now we are 7th on the tasble after just 12 games…. of those games we have won 6 and lost 5…. This is simply not good enough for a team who finished 2nd and won more games than any other last season…. I realise we lost Alonso and Sami but this should not be happening to us….
If our results dont significantly improve in all competitioins we may face next year with Champs League or even the Europa league…. And if we dont get a mircle in the CL we wont make it pass the group stage….
Simply Not Good Enough…..

To me the biggest problem with benitez in 5 years hes spent all this money yet we are no better off than were we where.
To have had that many players pass through liverpool and still have a weak squad is beyond me and when you think about it are first team isnt really packed with youth either, so you cant say there is a brigth future. I would like to know how many players have passed through arsenal and how much money they have spent to get the squad they have now full of youth and a very bright future.Hes had 5 years and still are squad lacks alot of depth.

Thats ok kermit i think we need a change right now and Mancini’s style of play is liverpool of old to a tee probably biased though because i did love him as a player. Capello is proven quality but by the time he is available who knows the mess we will be in the money wasted, talent moved on

retryboy i’m anonymous at 12.37 my name is james carragher,i just don’t think it’s right the fans getting on the manager’s back, you don’t have any idea what goes on,there is a team of coaches ,physio’s etc working with us player’s who know better than you do and pass on their advice about how long a player can last or needs to sit out, just because player’s are on the bench does not mean they can play a full game.i speak with alan alot and argue with him,Hansen said “i wouldn’t say to sack the manager because i never had the guts to take the position”.exactly he is not saying to sack the manager,we never give up on the game against fulham were you there?
Whats liverpool about losing game after game?
a fan supports their team through thick and thin, liverpool fans more than most and ronnie whelan was irish and alan hansen scottish,i’m from liverpool, where you from?

i was ten years old when liverpool won the title last now im nearly 31 at this rate ill be drawing my pension if something is not done to stop the rot every other team in the top four for the last 5 seasons bar us won the title lately this is totally down to bad judgement in every department of the club we need action and we need someone with balls and say enough is enough this has to stop this club was once mighty and we where feared through out europe and i want to see that again, last time i saw that i was 5 i barely remember that.

the phsyios messed up with telling benitez that riera was fit enough to play a full game then
rafa himself said aquilani is fit, just not match fit
i am irish supported liverpool since i could see the tv screen

yes you can be wrong you know fuck all about football and are not true lverpool fans, you criticise when your team needs your support.
So rafa benitez has wasted over £200m on signing crap players, not true.
Facts! is what the man himself uses so facts we will use to defend him.

Total Players Bought: £228,976,000
Total Players Sold: £145,100,000
Total Net Spend: £83,876,000
So, that’s a total spend of just over £83m in 5 years at the club. An average of £16.6m a year.
The vast majority of his signings have been sold at profit, or if still at the club, are worth a lot more than we paid for them. Exceptions being Babel and Dossena, but we’ll still get decent fees for them when sold as they’re full internationals.
A lot of the signings above have been stepping stones in rebuilding the squad, gradually improving it by replacing players with better ones. Our league positions over the past 5 years and the improvement in our league positions and points totals show the progression.
2004/05: Finished 5th – 58 pts
2005/06: Finished 3rd – 82 pts
2006/07: Finished 3rd – 68 pts
2007/08: Finished 4th – 76 pts
2008/09: Finished 2nd – 86 pts
Is it any coincidence that the progression seems to have stopped this summer? Look at the transfer activity above for this year and it might explain why.
Look at our net spend over the past 2 years!
We have a wage bill that is the 5th highest in the league. We can’t afford to pay players £70,000 to be sat on the bench like United and Chelsea can.
Rafa Benitez’ record with signings at the top end of the market is nothing short of brilliant. Robbie Keane being the only flop, but he was sold 6 months later and only a small financial hit taken on that mistake. Rick Parry agreed the fee for buying him in the first place, and common knowledge Rafa wasn’t happy with it; feeling it was far too high.
Where has this myth come from that he’s wasted money on shit players? Have a look through the lists above and try to point them out. There isn’t many.
The ones that haven’t worked out he’s moved on, and not very often has he made a financial loss on them.
The squad is now worth a hell of a lot more than the one he inherited, and that £83m net spend over 5 years is easily offset by the increased value of the squad. He’d recoup nearly all of that through the sale of Torres alone!
He’s worked absolute wonders with the money he’s had to spend. Then take into account the massive amounts of money he’s self generated by reaching the latter stages of the CL every season. Two final appearances, one win. That £83m he’s spent he’s earned the right to spend.
And when comparing it to what United have spent in the same period is flawed, as they already had a title winning squad and all the foundations in place. They weren’t rebuilding from scratch like we were. It also doesn’t take into account their massive wage bill.
When comparing to Chelsea, they spent all their money before Rafa came to the club and just topping up an already established squad.
Man City have spent more than double in the past 12 months than Rafa Benitez has in his 5 year reign.
Do some people still want to get rid of him? If so, you’ve been listening to Andy Gray and Richard Keys for too much and unable to look at the facts yourself to form an opinion.
Every manager makes tactical mistakes. Every manager makes mistakes in the transfer market. Despite what the press seem to think; Rafael Benitez appears to make less mistakes than most.
We’re expected to win the league and European Cup on a budget and wage bill that is entitled to finish 4th or 5th in the league. We’ve been overachieving under Rafael Benitez, not underachieving.
I’m not even going to mention the environment he’s working in under them two clowns.
You’ll only miss him when he’s gone….
Reds Lewis - November 10th, 2009 at 1:19 am
Rafas got to go now….Im fed up with it.
Hes had money and wasted it…
hes also wasting a massive amount of wage money by having a freaking massive squad that we dont need……..
We dont have strength in depth….
not enough of it anyway….
Look at the likes of lets say firstly Man united.
They have strikers in…
Rooney,Berbatov,Owen,
and Welbeck and Macheda
If Man uniteds main CF (rooney) gets injuired…they bring in 30 million pound striker berbaov to cover….if he gets injuired they bring in Owen…still a proven goal scorer…if all else fails they have Welbeck and Macheda….who have shown their ability in the prem already…
Midfielders?
Giggs…carrick..anderson…fletcher…valencia..nani…scholes…park
They have it in depth.
SAME goes for Chelsea….
Id drogba gets injuired they have anelka….both world class and both worth 30million each IMO. if they get injuired they have malouda…..who is always bench warming but always produces when he needs to….
I need say nothing about the strength in depth that the chelsea midfield has….
who do we have if torres gets injuired?
Ngog ( proving hes good enough now ) babel ( underacheieved ) and voronin ….im not even going to count voronin as a player.
if gerrard gets injuired in midfield where is our inspiration?
If torres gets injuired wheres our other 30 million pound top class striker?
Answer..he doesnt exist
Because
a. rafa has got rid of keane and crouch….both now at tottenham and not always guaranteed first team starting roles….
b. rafa WONT play with 2 up front. I dont care how good torres is on his own..if he can play with another upfront for international level and at atletico then he can bloodywell do the same here….rafa is too much of a tard to attempt playing him with somebody else ufront…..Torres’s finishing is next to none…imagine if he didnt have to do all the hard work on top…..just had to slot home every time from somebody else holding the ball up? hed probably get as many if not more…and wed get more as a team and more out of gerrard who shoul be playing in midfield alongside Aquilani and riera and benayuon….

don’t mind us take up the whole page get a grip you seem to think rafa is the club no he ain’t, we are all liverppol fans if you love rafa so much ask him can you kip in his shed. grow up liverppol is a club for everybody not just you and rafa has made loads of mistakes he wasted 230m and how many of the 76 players are still at the club there should be at least 10 i rest my case james there’s only about 2 so your facts are wrong and i know a lot about liverpool i know that matt busby played for the pool one time before he became the man utd manager but i bet he didn’t complain as much as you, your like a train spotter,m do you go down to melwood everyday to check out the players fitness you seem to think you know it all. get a life.

cpm, paring our squad to utds i dont think we do so badly
striker rooney berbatov owen macheda welbeck
torres kuyt babel ngog voronin
okay utd have a slight edge here, rooney is class, berba is class but lazy , owen is past it, macheda and wellbeck young kids neither ccurrently as good as ngog
we have torres who is god , kuyt who is played out of position , babel who is treated like a leper by benitez but has bags of potential
midfielders nani carrick anderson scholes giggs park fletcher
gerrard aquilani mascherano lucas benayoun riera
i think we edge the midfield section
defenders ferdinand vidic evans evra o shea da silva twins brown
johnson carragher agger skrtel insua aurelio kyrgiakos
i think this one is pretty even also with maybe just maybe a slight edge to utd
all in all the ssquads compare favourably
when compared to chelsea however we are fucked
when compared to arsenal erm thats a close one
arsenal defenders sagna eboue gallas vermaelen clichy gibbs senderos
midfielders fabregas song rosicky nasri ramsey diaby walcott
forwards van persie eduardi bendtner arshavin vela

I’m no fan of Liverpool FC nor the Premier League – however I do believe that Liverpool have the two best players in the league (Gerrard and Torres).
Now, my question is, “How can Liverpool FC hope to hold onto their star players, whilst not coming anywhere close to a challenge for ‘any’ trophy?”
I can understand the fans’ frustration, considering how well the team performed last season, but perhaps it’s time to realize Liverpool’s squad is not the same calibre of those of Arsenal, Chelsea, United, or even City … of course, this isn’t helped by the manager’s strange decisions.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 1:41 am
weve have had the same league standings under houllier as well james further more man city are buying quaility not shite that is why they are spending more money than us and if they had a better manager they would win the league. so stop talking shite and your stats are wrong you say we are spending 16.6m a year for fuck sake torres cost 26m aquilani cost 20m johnson 17m you have you facts wrong and macherano 18m robbie keane 20m add that up thats over 90m not the 80 odd million you said you haven’t a clue go to all the liverpool websites and they will tell you the stats or type it up on google and it will tell you that’s how i know. and your wrong.
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 1:41 am
i think man uds curren squad is hugely overated, scholes and giggsd and van der saar are almost finished
owen is almsit finished
they are gona have to spend a shitload next season
the onyl players i d take from man utd are rooney and vidic on current form and maybe evra
and from asreal van persie arshavin fabregas clichy maybe nasri
and from chelsea driogba lampard carvalho alex terry essien
and who would they take from us
reina unlikely maybe man utd and arsenal would chelsea prob not
johnson yes
caragher no
agger maybe arsenal and man u
skrtel prob not on current form
insua no way
mascherano maybe man u would take him
gerrard yes
babel wenger would turn him into a superstar and everyone knows it
torres yes
kuyt would be lucky to get a game at villa
lucas , i m giving hi time before i make a final appraisal on him
Benji - November 10th, 2009 at 1:48 am
Kermit….
what do you make of the rumor of interest in Lass Diarra?
I believe that he would be a good replacement for Mascha if he goes to Barcain Jan… I dont want Mash to go but if he does i see it a s a good deal…. If we get 30+ that is…. that way we could buy either a winder (Elia) or a Second Striker…
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 1:49 am
we paid harry kewell 75 grand a week to sit on the bench for 2 seasons and he did fuck all james your whole stats are totally wrong and we did spend more than 80m in five seasons and you forgot fernado morientes was a flop luis garcia, josemi, nunez, gonzalez, kromkapp, and more where flops so you your insight to liverpool is wrong.
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 1:54 am
i like diarra , but i also like steven defour, i d prefer defour , i think he d be cheaper, and i actually hope masch is sold
but what i know of benitez he never ever lets the press know who he is interesed in
defour and jovetic for 35 million, or defour and suarez
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 1:59 am
i actually thought masch was the player that would iwn us the league at one point, i thought he was the very driving force we needed in midfield, but unfortunatel he does drive forward he just doesnt have a clue what to do with it mostly when he gets there
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 1:59 am
you don,t understand we have to buy players before we sell like when we sold bellamy for £7.5 to help fund the bid for torres.rafa has had to wheel and deal,we do not have the money to buy quality players.it is not as if we have had all the money in one go
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 2:01 am
i think david villa or luis fabiano would be good to have on the liverpool team, lass diarra is he any good is not to old, juan roman riquelme would be a good addtion to the team, bruno alves, hugo almeida,
Benji - November 10th, 2009 at 2:02 am
Either of those combinations would be lethal for any team….
Jovetic is an awesome striker and Suarez i havent seen but ive heard hes a quality striker.. I heard that Barca was following Suarez so perhaps if we sell Mash to Barca they can let us hav Suarez…
Defour would be good also…. I think young players (both academy and bought) is what we need to have…
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 2:05 am
yeah agreed anon 1 59
barca were offering forty million for mascherano so i would take it
and buy defour for 12 million, jovetic for 20 million and still have 8 million left
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 2:08 am
both player are young jovetic is 19 i think and defour 22, meaning they ll both be around for a long time so either we keep them or sell them on aged 26 for a huge fee
plus bayern were offering 12 million for kuyt, so i get 8 million plus twelve for kuyt and buy juan mata for 20 million
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 2:16 am
despite what they say in spain i dont think torres and david villa play well together or like playing together, juan mata is also only 21 btw
for me i d have my scouts at every olympics and underage world cup, di maria shone at the olympics we could have had him , quality players that shine at huge tournaments like these will be or are likely to be stars of the future, so we ought to be buying them, esp with a ficus on argentinians brazilians ghanaians and nigerians, because these teams always are close to the finals
well the young player route works for wenger
and we just bought chris mavinga a left back from france , although he seems to play centre back for the reserves , he looks pretty good.
i also think that the proposed five million deal for saviola to play with torres would have a been a good deal last summer
jovetic looks like a very clever footballer, and suarez scores goals for fun
but yeah i think have a top class underage system is vital and will save a fortune in the long run
i wish we had another gerrard in the pipeline
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 2:18 am
Anon i am no more from liverpool than you are the great jamie carragher i am a 30 year old who has supported liverpool for 25 years and will do so always i also have about 20 friends who are from liverpool who i watch the games with and guess what? Not only do they consider me a true fan they respect me because of my knowledge and unhealthy level of support. All you have done with your post is prove how deluded the in rafa we trust brigade are. Lawrenson spent the whole match tonight saying why have we got 2 defensive midfielders against birmingham, why isn’t benayoun playing central, why isn’t aquilani on, same as every fan does at every game with rafa. Not one of you would pick the same team he does. Not one of you would use the same tactics but you defend the indefensible and what is your argument? In rafa we trust. I will always support liverpool no matter what and the only thing stopping us winning things is rafa sooner you wake up the better. Whats the saying pride goes before a fall well its his pride and our fall.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 2:23 am
u have to remember benitez has bought alot of these youngsters and their is an exciting crop coming through,i think some will start breaking through sometime this season, maybe when we dont have much to play for, that post about benitez’s signings was good,it is not as if he has been given £230m to spend on players,he has had to make it,if he didn’t sell bellamy he would never have got torres he made a £1m profit on bellamy, you see alot of the players he has bought are then sold on for profit, the problem over the last 2 seasons is the yanks.johnson and aquilani are 2 top class players we signed in the summer.but we only paid a 4.5m installment for aquilani, the next due in jan.johnson’s fee was made up with the money we got from crouch.the rest of our cash including the money from keane’s sale in jan went to the american’s to pay off loan’s.we know have £20m a season from sponsorship to buy players,so what if rafa buy’s 100 players for £100m and sells them,as long as he can keep our club going and use it to sign more players like torres,at the end of the day it’s a business, let rafa finish what he started, his youngster,s are ready to come through and a couple more good signings and all our players fit we will be the best.
Retryboy - November 10th, 2009 at 2:34 am
Kermit we have nemeth and pacheco will be awesome stars should be in the team already but rafa has bought rubbish like voronin and he wants to prove himself right over results for liverpool. People talk about lucas he is coming good now but look at Darren fletcher he wasn’t good enough for years to be a regular ferguson believed in him and kept him didn’t mean he played him week in week out whilst he was a liability costing utd games to prove his point. People forget quickly not the players fault but his inclusion and performances last season cost us the title. Now he is coming good thats supposed to prove rafa was right? A good manager would have waited till he was at the level he is now before playing him.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 2:35 am
lucas was the brazil u-20 captain when we bought him, these players need time to settle in,you can say why didnt we sign di maria, but what if we did and he did not play well for his first year, you would then be saying rubbish signing, get rid.it is not as easy as you think.of course we will have scouts everywhere.wenger has not won anything for 4-5 years.
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 2:36 am
i dont know, even when we ared doing well the reason we lose games is usually rafa s fault tactically
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 2:39 am
whats with liverpool fans these days?? alot on this site are asking rafa to go, but who do you replace him with???? you think mourinho would work for us when he gets told that he has 5 million to spend and any thing he can make out of transfers??? you think hindink would like gillet and hicks in fighting with no security above?? what other manager would cope?? where is the money from the alonso sale?? we are paying roma in installments for aquilani… god rafa this and rafa that, please liverpool fans BABEL IS SH IT E. he doesn’t have thye heart for it, i’ve seen ngog over take him becoz he wants it, i remember prople were on rafa’a back when we brought him and now he’s doing it.. he had a great game today, along with lucus, (another fav amongst short sighted liverpool fans), johnson was sublime, pure class.
i love liverpool, i live in a house with 3 manc supporters and so i feel itt when things go wrong, but i know rafa is turning it around.
even though he seems to lack passion this man brought god back to us, (fowler), a place has also been made for a living legend dalglish… we as supporters need to show the other teams like united and chelsea, (who seem to change there manager every season), a bit of solidarity.
As the adidas advert said, (the liverpool badge is not just a badge its a family crest~), lets support our family through this rough time, becoz if we don’t we’re no better than the scum…
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 2:56 am
What a shameful dive to get one point, LoserFools. Shameful. This is the type of decision that makes me lose faith in refereeing.

Kermit we have nemeth and pacheco will be awesome stars should be in the team already but rafa has bought rubbish like voronin and he wants to prove himself right over results for liverpool.
this is a laughable comment by retryboy
who were nemeth and pacheco bought by retry?
rafa and the liverpool coaching staff must not think they are ready just yet.
yes they do look like they will be stars of the future.
they also were bought by benitez, and why do you think they should be in the first team, have you not got enough players to criticise already
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 3:20 am
even with ur 5 best players missin u should still win wat should have been an easy home game !!
liverpool supporters are too loyal 4 there own good !!
if u let man city get top 4 u will full behind 4 years to come.

in the case of liverpool lacking in attack rafa only has him self to blame for loaning nemeth out and he also never gives any of the young boys a shot. HARTLFC

BAD POINTS FROM THE GAME :
1. DIDN’T WON IT .
2. KUYT CONTINUES HIS BAD FORM UP.
3. AGAIN FELT THE NEED OF A DECENT BACK UP STRIKER
4. RAFA CONTINUES HIS BAD START SQUAD SELECTION.
5. AQUILLIANI WAS NERVOUS(not his fault he replaced 2nd best player of
the game for the dying 10 minutes).
6. 2 INJURIES ,NOW HOW BAD COULD THAT GO?
GOOD POINTS :
1..YEEPI! GERRARD AND LUCAS FINALLY FINDING FORM.
2.. JHONSON CEMENTS HIS PLACE AS A FIRST CHOICE PLAYER.
3.. WE COMPLETELY DOMINATED THE SECOND HALF .FOR THE
FIRST TIME (this season )IT LOOKED LIKE WE WERE PASSING
TO PERECTION AS A UNIFIED SQUAD.
now all this apart what is a must is we sign a STRIKER …. a STRIKER who
can score goals irrespective of presence or absence of TORRES.
since KUYT AND RIERA may not find FORM this season RAFA will have to
bring in ONE OR EVEN 2 WINGERS
MY VIEW:
SELL
DOSSENA 5M
SYRKIAGOS 2M
RIERA 12M (NOT A MATCH WINNER)
MASCHERANO 30/35 .(HE WANTS TO GO)
FUNDS SAY 12M
TOTAL AROUND 60M +
IN
SERGIO AGRERO( MADRID WILL SELL FOR SURE TO MANU OR CHELSEA ,I SAY BUY HIM). 35M
OR
LUIS SUAREZ( NOT TOO SURE WEATHER HE WOULD DO WELL OR
NOT BUT ANYWAYS BUY HIM) 18M
JUAN MATA 15M
ELJERO ELIA 12M
WITH AGUERO AROUND 60
ELSE 45+
IF RAFA HAS THE BRAIN ENOUGH TO DO THIS IF NOT THIS SEASON
THEN NEXT ONE WE MAY RULE EUROPE..
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 7:25 am
THE TEAM AFTER THESE 3 BUYINGS
1. FERNANDO TORRES
2. RYAN BABEL
3. SERGIO AGUERO/ LUIS SUAREZ
4. DAVID NGOG
5.DIRK KUYT
6.JUAN MATA
7.YOSSI BENAYOUN
8.ELJERO ELIA
9 ELZHAR
10. LUCAS LEIVA
11.STEVEN GERRARD
12. JAY SPEARING
13 ALBERTO AQUILLIANI
AND WE DO HAVE THE BEST ATTACKING DEFENDERS IN THE WORLD.
PLUS BRING BACK NEMETH IN THE NEXT SEASON TO ADD TO THE
FIRE POWER…….
AND WE ARE DONE FOR NEXT 3 //4 YEARS….

RETRYboy you are fast reaching LEGENDARY STATUS! Gr8 posts and to the in rafa we trust brigade, start thinking whats best for your club, not for that spanish passenger. WE (that is liverpool, and by extension all who pay money to the club for merchandise, membership etc) are paying this git 5 million per year, 95,000 pound per week, and he IS NOT DOING HIS JOB. SO F**K OFF YOU IN RAFA WE TRUSTERS, DONT TELL us we are not true fans as it is you lot that are keeping this pathetic git of a man in a high paying job, a job that he is doing VERY VERY BADLY.IN RAFA WE MIS-TRUST
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 9:38 am
ANON 2:39, you can continue to support a rubbish manager if you like. Me I support the club, and I hope they will see sense and get rid of rafa. He is a cancer that is spreading throughout the club. OH BUT RAFA WILL TURN IT AROUND u say. Just how will he turn it around? He does not have the skill nor te inspiration to do so. We have a team of passengers, and low skilled players. The ones like babel who are half skilled and tallented have been destroyed by rafa. Think how much of a slap in the face it is for babel to see the pathetic spanish git play the hobbit, or voronin, before he picks babel. It is an utter joke. You need match winners, not match passengers. kuyt, mas, the hobbit (even tho he is improving slightly, he is just to hideous to look at) are the players I would sell to try and get 1 maybe 2 good players
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 10:12 am
it is very simple sack benitez or we are fucked dont make no excuse for him.he has had plenty of time and we are weker than hulliers team. and yes he won champions leage with 90% huilliers team dont for get that. sold all huilliers players and look at us now. shambles

Rafa’s style is too rigid and predictable and i find his style of management to be very bloody tedious. His treatment of babel is scandalous and his faith in kuyt is just downright criminal. This team under benitez not only lacks ay invention but has a severe lack of pace in his teams which i believe to be the telling factor in liverpools dismal run of form, i hope so very very badly that rafa is sacked asap.
In rafa i used to trust but i trust no more.

THE CHOSEN ONE
ok everyone has their opinion just a few pointsers.
1-pls write your name if you want to comment, if not i wont read it. the chosen one has spoken!!
2-Roman aquinini best position as rafa has said is lucas role.#
3-Rafa did absolutely nothing wrong in that match. The team was very positive, movement was very good. we thought for the ball. However set piece error and a 30 yard freak shot helped them. Yes we should of been more clinical in front of goal. We also again played higher up the field.I see improvement. Ther wins will come.
4- For all those guys looking for scapegoats. Well theyve been on Lucas back all season he played well. well me included think we need another striker but Ngog reminds be of an anelka in the making. Hes maturing quickly and I see were Rafa is coming from. Insua did his bit down the left hand side. im proud of him.
-rumour has it barca want argy mach for 20 mil.Well id still sell but not a penny less than 40 mil. Thats up to them.
Its all about improving each game and I see the improvement. the confidence is coming back. After xmas well have a very good run. the titles over. we can hope for europe but it seems the uefa cup or europa one is our step this year.
We have to try and win the F.a. cup.
I think this year could be the year that rafa looks and resha.pes the team. Knows whos got it and who hasn`t.
As long as we are improveing I wont complain!!
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 10:35 am
THE CHOSEN ONE
BTW if lucas or kuyte would of missed that free gerrard header everyone would of been on his back!!
Rafa also has his eye on the future and lucas and ngog is part of that.
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 11:14 am

Anon at 3.14 all the players that everyone lists now to be cleared out in january are the same players we knew weren’t good enough last year. When we signed degen-darby was better voronin-nemeth was better and now pacheco has matured too kyrgiakos-ayala and kelly were better dossena-insua was better.
When he loaned out nemeth was because voronin had scored 10 goals for hertha he has been proved wrong over and over again. Its not his signings its his team selections, management of players, lack of faith in quality youth, faith in poor experienced players, defensiveness, refusal to make substititutions early enough to affect the game, playing players out of position, ridiculously big squad. He refuses to do the obvious things we have plenty of quality in the squad its the way he uses the players.
Donavan Ried - November 10th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
Wow! ……..
So many comments ……I have not read any just yet, so sorry if i repeat anything that has been said already ……
Here goes …..
The way that i saw it last night, was that overall we played well, and i could say that we were unlucky…….N’gog had(By his stardard) a great first half ( Best that i have seen him play) we created many chances and if not for some last ditch defending we could have had three….
Even after Birmingham scoring it still looked as if we would go on to win the game …..This i believed changed with the injury to Albert Riera, and his substitution …… Inb his place we were given Steven Gerrard and all of a sudden we looked less menacing ….. This is by no means taking anything away from Gerrards style of play, of what he adds to the team ….. The simple fact is he was not a 100% …..not even 60% I questioned it at the time of the substitution and i still question it now …… What is the point in bring on Gerrard and risking further injury to a player less than a 100% when he could use Ryan Babel? …….
Losing Albert Riera, ment we lose the width on the left, made us more narrow. in fact, made it easier to defend against ……
Yossi Benayoun pulled up with a hamstring problem ( A big loss)
And late in the game we saw a pretty ineffective (as the result when) Alberto Aquilani ….. I don’t think the Liverpool players gave the ball to him as much as the could have and allowed him to work some sort of magic, instead they chose to try and give the ball to Steve Gerrard at every opportunity …….
We all the injury woes now heaped on the club I have to go back to the question that i raised when we first became clear that we intented to pruchase Alberto Aquilani …… The question was ” Is it a wise move to be buying a injuried player?…..” remember we were promised that Aquilani would be fit for the Chelsea game …..
Last thing i will touch up on is the penalty ……. I blatant drive by N’gog …..I have stated here many a time that i hate to see anyone cheat and for me it took any shine off of the LIverpool performance ……
Real testing times a head
Jed - November 10th, 2009 at 12:13 pm
hahaha fucking hilarious!! am i the best judge of a teams prospects or what?? everything i said over the past 3 months is coming true….see when you put massive amounts of money on sports you need to know a teams credentials, and liverpool where crossed off my list as soon as all your money was spent on glen johnson…..and no liverpool supporter has any right to point the finger at drogba over diving, ngog’s effort is up there with the best, and typical anfield referree gives the penalty…i didnt watch the match, was there 7mins stoppage time??

Sorry about earlier
But How much did Philipp Degen cost? and Andriy Voronin? ….. Both free ….
But heres the point you still have to pay them wages …. Voronin is on £2.5m a year degen about the same ……
Rafa has far too many average players clogging up the team drawing wages …. Head needs to get rid of 8-10 players from a far too large squad …. tis will free upwards of £20-40m a year in wages and help fund quality players

Well said donovan rafa could easily offload around 7-8 players of poor quality and more than free up enough cash to purchase 1 or possibly 2 class aquisitions.
Rafa needs to show more faith in a few of the youths comming through as they are going to waste.

Jed – November 10th, 2009 at 12:13 pm ………..”and no liverpool supporter has any right to point the finger at drogba over diving, ngog’s effort is up there with the best,”…..
It’s just that Drogba has had more practice at driving than N’gog so can make it look more as if contact was made
anonymous - November 10th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
I believe this is more or less the same liverpool side that finished 2nd last year with their highest ever points total? Its just a question on confidence, and they’ll sort it out sooner or later.
BTW, how good was Glenn Johnson last night. He was up against a decent player in Mcfadden and he defended really well and was always a threat going forward. I think he deserves some praise!

It’s just that Drogba has had more practice at driving than N’gog so can make it look more as if contact was made
mate say what you like but that dive made me feel sick….i know drogba goes down easy, the seizure was hilarious…..but he is a big guy compared to other footballers….im not condoning his actions but if he gets hard contact from a smaller player he could easily withstand it….he would have had coaches telling him to go down when he was younger cos he would have absorbed all kinds of contact and missed a lot a free kicks and penalties….obviously now he just takes it a bit too far and goes down with the slightest touch
Jed - November 10th, 2009 at 2:14 pm
oh and donavan i have been relatively quiet while liverpool have been copping a hammering and chelsea have kept on their winning ways, but i had to make an appearance…..i think a few people are eating humble pie for bagging my opinions about your team in the summer
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
to the chosen one , if rafa has said that aquilanis best position is lucas s position then rafa benitez is a fucking arsehole idiot fool muppet that never ought to come near anfield ever again
Donavan Ried - November 10th, 2009 at 3:31 pm
Jed – November 10th, 2009 at 2:12 pm ….. Now here a first ….. I total agree with you ….. as i have stated here and before i hate ANYONE who drives be it a Man Utd player Chelsea or Liverpool ……
I would like to see both the FA and UFEA get tough with this and any other foul, and how i would like to see this done is by give retroactive cards to players. By this i mean
(1) a player, say N’gog upon review is proven to have dive thus earning his side a penalty, in the next match in which he starts the Ref should be able to walk up to him before the kick off and hand him a red card, not a yellow but a straight red ……. YES a Red Card…
Why because he has cheated and altered the out come of a game ……
That goal may make the differrence between that team, or another team staying up or going down, or a team coming 4th or 5th, which is the difference between£40m and £30 from Sky, or the difference between the Champions league and the Euro league ……..
It would stop most of the diving and cheating over night …….
Imagine Drogba, Rooney,Fabregas or Gerrard walking out at 2:59 ready for the kick off in a local derby only for the ref to walk up to them and give them a red card …….
Imagine the look on their face and the managers? …….
The players and the manager should be the ones trying to stamp out this scourge that has infected the game …….
Something has to be done… and I believe that this would be the way to go
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 3:35 pm
firstly hi to donvan
secondly to jed, the season isnt over yet man, we played well last night a freak goal from jerome cost us two points
and ngog shouldnt be called a diver , his momentum took him over , he didnt attempt top con the ref, he didnt even claim a penalty, drogbas efforts at diving are all lame kinda like adam sandlers acting, saying that drogba is on par with torres as the leagues two most dangerous strikers
thridly benitez s lack of any testicles to make key decisions during games is costing us points. This is and always will be my primary gripe with benitspaz, this is his one major failing as a manager and is is so frustrating to watch, scream at the tv and plead for him to make tactical changes and substitutuions, the number of times i have wanted to roar at him and once or twice murder him is getting out of hand
kermit - November 10th, 2009 at 3:39 pm

Remember Jed injuries can come to all teams, and there is “Swine Flu” doing the rounds at club at present, Chelsea could easly be hit by one if not both of these things too remember this is a Marathon not a sprint and things can chance for Chelsea in a heart beat ……
Remember what you where like without Terry? …… And Eissen?…..
Look at Man Utd without Ronaldo ……

THE CHOSEN ONE
KERMIT maybe we are misunderstanding each other in this Lucas position.
Liverpool play a defensive midfielder who playes deep. A central defensive midfielder just in front of him for which alonso plays abnd lucas played klast night and an attacking midfielder or supporting striker of which gerrard normally plays.
This geezer the roman can play all 3 roles according to benitez but his best role is where lucas played last night. central midfielder just in front of the anchorman or the alonso role.
Funnily enough I tend to agree with him mate. but hey thats just my opinion.
Donavan Ried ? arise Sir night!! are you on facebook? something I want to show you for a true liverpool fan.

we should play
carra–agger–skrtel–aurelio
johnson–masch–aquilani–benayoun
gerrard–torres
