Manchester City captain Kolo Toure says he would like to see brother Yaya join him at Eastlands after admitting the Barcelona midfielder is unhappy at the Nou Camp.
While Kolo has made a name for himself in the Premier League, Yaya has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in the past but has, instead, forged a successful career with European champions Barcelona since 2007.
Yaya is now unsettled in Spain as boss Pep Guardiola prefers Sergi Busquets for the holding role and asked if he would like to see City buy his younger brother, Kolo told The Manchester Evening News: “I hope so. He is a good player, and if he could come to our team that would be great.
“He has had a few hard times in Barcelona. He doesn’t play a lot, and he loves football and loves to play. If he can come, especially to a club in England, he would be really happy because the Premier League is a fantastic place to play football.”
And Kolo believes his versatile sibling – who can also operate at centre back, like he did in the UEFA Champions League final win over Manchester United last term – would assist the Blues’ quest for a top-four finish.
“Technically he is very good and can hold up the ball, and is a great passer with great vision,” the 28-year-old said. “He also has a great desire to win.” (ESPN)
Kolo is clearly thinking that now is the time that his brother was brought in by Man City but I would say that Arsene Wenger would have more of a chance of persuading Yaya to leave La Liga in favour of a move to title chasers Arsenal rather than settling for a huge wage packet at Man City.
The Barcelona midfielder is by no means a first choice and finds himself more often than not being overlooked in La Liga action by Pepe Guardiola who has opted in the main for youngster Sergio Busquets.
Whilst we have had a great run of results and the likes of Alex Song and Denilson have stepped up their game immensely, I do think that the addition of an experienced player such as Yaya Toure could only be a bonus. The former Monaco and Olympiakos man has been there and done it and is of course a player who has won just about everything.
He is also adept at fitting into a central defensive role if needed and that too could be a massive bonus for us. If he really isn’t too happy at the Nou Camp then we would lose nothing by making a sly bid for the midfielder.

It will not happen. AW didn’t take Yaya when he was a kid, and he won’t now. Yaya has an attitude problem and AW is very aware of it. We do need cover for Song but it will either come from within the squad or be a relative unknown who doesn’t have an ego..

Rather than another holding midfielder that can play in central defence I would rather get another central defender. If we get an injury to gallas or vermaelen I think this would expose our only area where we have no strength in depth. I like Djorou and if he was fit would be happy with what we have but this is not his first long term injury and I worry we have a ledley king situation here. Someone like Shawcross or Cahill or one of Wengers unknown gems would be perfect. While I want to see Vermaelen play predominantly as a centre back he looks like he has all the attributes to do the holding midfield role if song was unavailable. this would mean the other CD playing alongside gallas. At the top level i think that CD is more specialised than DM and top CD’s are harder to come by. That is why I would rather another specific CD is bought than a DM who can drop into the back line. This way round I think we would be significantly stronger with more options.

Calvo…
Could be the difference between potential winners of the prem to actual…thats how good I rate him and what he would bring to Arsenal and more importantly be the one to convince Cesc not to move!
