It seems that speculation surrounding Yaya Toure is reaching fever pitch with the player coming out and stating his displeasure at not getting regular first team football despite being reassured in the summer that he would do. His agent has come out and essentially issued a come and get me plea on his behalf and today’s press suggest that Arsenal and Man United are the most likely sides to attract the Ivorian into making a move from the Nou Camp.
One side less likely to have a chance of snapping up the defensive midfielder is Man City, who were ruled out of contention by Yaya’a representative who suggested that ‘much bigger clubs’ were considering a move for his client.
The 26 year old has had something of a journeyman career thus far, having plied his trade in Belgium, Ukraine, Greece, France and now with the Catalan giants and it appears he may be about to move on yet again. Pepe Guardiola appears to be attempting to blood his younger players this term and Sergio Busquets regularly finds himself ahead of Toure and the longer this continues the more likely a move will become.
Some suggest that a move could even be an option in the January transfer window but obviously having represented Barcelona in the Champions League he would become less of an incentive to sign urgently.
Arsenal could do with an experienced midfielder to play alongside Cesc Fabregas, giving him time and space on the ball. Alex Song and Denilson have done wonderfully well when called upon but Yaya is the real deal and is clearly a player that Arsene Wenger admires so a move for Kolo’s younger brother is a distinct possibility.

I’ve said for months that Yaya is the perfect player for Arsenal. I like Song but I am still not convinced he is the finished article, Yaya has been there and done it and can also fill in at the back.

I dont think that arsene would buy Yaya, because that would kill song!!
He’ll play Denilson as a DM, i dont see yaya coming although i would like him to play for Arsenal!

Arsenals young guns will be ready for this role soon, so why buy an expensive older player to bring in.

If AW signs this guy he will have to eat his own words….he has repeatedly said that he has not signed any “star” midfielders because it would “kill” Song,Denilson,Ramsey, etc etc….So therefore I think this is the usual shite.com drivel we have all come to know and love !!!

Is there a reason why Yaya toure and Alex Song could not play together? Diaby is classed as a central midfield player whom is supposed to Battle for the ball but rarely does! We already have 4 attacking players so do not know why Song and toure couldnt be used to shield arsenals back line?

Toure can play centre-back or midfield and would be perfect for arsenal. Doesn’t matter if he is cup tied in europe, he will just be fresh for the league and fa cup. If we are seriously going to challenge for all 3 then we need more depth than denilson (currently long term injured) and over the hill silvestre and senderos who hasn’t played in two years basically. This could be just as big as arshavin for the team.

We saw against wolves how important song is and that no one else in the squad at present can do the job he does like him. Toure could. We wouldn’t throw away too many leads with him and song shielding the defence and adding height on set-plays. SIGN HIM ARSENE!!
