Oh back to the story apparently west ham want £20m for cole ha ha! Mind you normally when managers say stupid inflated figures like that its because they are trying to scare off the chasing club and as we all know if a player really wants to go not a lot a club can do about it. Anon at 7.40 how the hell is nemeth behind ngog? They are both banging in goals for fun as nemeth has always done but nemeth’s all around, link up play is a different level mind you it is compared to most players!

Torres is left isolated so often we can’t expect him to have one half chance and bury it in 90 minutes of football even if so often he does. Reason rafa likes gerrard behind torres so much is because that gives him 3 tackling central midfielders. With mascherano and lucas not creating anything gerrard is forced to drop back further and further and we end up with rafas 4-5-0-0-1 formation. Torres has less support than pammy did in baywatch!

What are you talking about???? ………If Torres is one of the best strikers in the world, having another player; play upfront with him would take nothing away from his game, or make him any lesser a world class striker, In fact would help his game….. because instead of have a CB on Torres and one sitting off him the other striker would then have to be marked by the CB that would sit off of Torres, thus giving him more space and one less player to mark him

to anonymous – November 12th, 2009 at 4:13 agree to what your saying, but think the “quality player” you talk of is not Cole. i still like Adriano, even baptista, (wouldn’t cost that much and we all saw what he did to liverpool a few seasons ago when playing for arsenal), also disagree some what to you comment below

your right its not rafa’s fault and i don’t want to see him go as i feel since he’s been at liverpool, the results have been positive.

But i do feel we should be beating teams like Birmingham, look we played literally 6 defenders in that game, (back 4 and 2 DEF MID), maybe he should have put out a really attacking side and see what happened, also i know torres is injured but did he need to take him off with only three minutes remaining against Lyon?, the thing with torres is that people fear, him (none more so then vidic), so sometimes its best to leave him on.

I’m not slagging Rafa off as i know he will win us the league but every team has injuries, its the back up players that have to step up and make a difference, The players Rafa has brought in the 3-10 million signing are bad…Voronin HAS to be sold, he is the worst No 10 we have ever had.(i know we got him free but even that looks a bad bit of business).

i really wished hyphia stayed as we really needed his back up this season, possibly even making a better attempt at getting distin?

i know we have no money so the likes of Aguero, Ribery and Villa, (who i wouldn’t buy even if i had the money), are not going to come…. but people like Adriano, Baptista, Van der Vaart, Drenthe these are quality players which i would love to see playing with the likes of Torres, Gerrard, Aqualani, Johnson… plus they will not be as expensive as people think…

Adriano – fallen hero plying his trade in brazillian league looking to show that he still has it to be picked for barzil in world cup

Baptista – another trying to get back into the brazil set up, he is a beast of a player and i think wenger gave up on him to easy. could still be perfect to play just behind torres.

Van Der Vaart – already shown he is class surplus to req in madrid

Drenthe – with marcelo thought he was going to leave, however has played alot of games this season, but gets booed by his own fans.. lot of potential here, he’s so young. could play left back, left winger.

would also love to see gareth bale, but don’t think that will happen.

so for me my outs would be:

this is bullshit about rafa not wanting to play two up front the reason why he plays torres up front on his own is because he is the best striker in the world and to put a ok player up there with him would be suicide because it would ruin his game and i speak for everyone when i say we need torres at his best, and buying a quality player at holding the ball up will give torres the help he so dearly needs so he could score even more and cole fits the script perfectly big tall broad player who will give torres the oppourtunity to score more and have another player scoring over 10-15 a season and if we do buy cole with probibaly a good centre back (rafael marques who is not evn on the bench for barcalona any more and his is an international) will win us the league!

lucus is still highly regarding in brasil use as bargaining chip. i wouldn’t like to see him go but for adriano it would be worth it…

plus when gerrard, aqualani, masch fit can’t really see him playing much…

plus retryboy whey you think he’ll cost alot?? he’s damaged goods, any one bidding on him is taking a risk….
