Liverpool Starlet Nemeth Scores Well Taken Goal and Then Gets Injured (Video)
by YNWA on November 14th, 2009 100 words | 54 commentsThis kid continues to show real promise and I am sure I am not alone in wishing that Rafa would bring him back to Anfield from his loan spell at AEK Athens. A few minutes after he scored this goal he was taken off with an injury, hopefully nothing serious. This goal put a rapidly improving Hungarian Under 21 side the lead against their Italian counterparts in this European Under Championship qualifier and reported Liverpool target Vladimir Koman got the second (Video also below)

Lovely through ball by simon as well. Nemeths goals/games record for hungary is unbelievable… U17-9/11 U19-15/14 U20-6/3 U21-2/2 guys gonna be a liverpool legend so will pacheco get him back and get them both involved!!
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 11:57 am
Sorry should read games/goals not much difference in his case though! He really is that good to have 4-4-2 when gerrard/aquilani is missing his link up play, vision, killer through balls playing just off torres would be a match made in heaven and he scores a hatful of goals wherever he plays. Was impatient to see him in a liverpool shirt 2 years ago and if it wasn’t for injuries last season sure we would have done by now.
jimmyk - November 14th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
rafa wont play him yet, which is puzzling. he is the same age as ngog.
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
He doesn’t fit rafa’s system and everything has to revolve around one bloody ultra defensive system. Nemeth and pacheco will never get the chance they deserve under rafa because he won’t play 2 strikers or ditch his 2 holding midfielders. Don’t care how much lucas has improved he is still taking away a place from a striker or creative player that will get goals and assists not his fault he is a good squad player but another one of rafas hard working neat passers. Never mind the creative talent left on the sidelines.
RyanO - November 14th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Nemeth is pure class and sure to be a goal machine once he’s given his first team shirt. There is no way he’s loaned out again this year. I think Rafa is waiting for him to get a bit stronger, on the ball. I thought he was ready before this campaign, but I ain’t the gaffer.
Mr.Red - November 14th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
Little of topic here, but, I don’t know if you guys will agree with me but I hope we lose to Manchester City. Because then Rafa would hopefully get axed then we can finally get Nemeth playing and hopefully our new manager would give Babel some confidence and games and finally unleash his potential and we could play a 4-4-2 system finally.
Mr.Red - November 14th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
because im also tired of always hearing so and so is a great player but gosh he just doesnt fit into rafas system well seems like hardly any good players fit into his system cuz its an awful system
RyanO - November 14th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
Mr.Red, no supporter is going to agree with that rubbish. Hoping LFC lose is not a trait of a true supporter. I don’t give a fuck what is happening at the club, you support the lads, EVERY MINUTE, EVERY MATCH.
Mr.Red - November 14th, 2009 at 5:31 pm
I do support the players in fact I support them so much. I want them to have a real manager that will give them an opportunity to win trophies and play in their real positions. So you like to support a manager that thinks its ok to finish 2nd? all your saying is that you want things to continue down the same path?
RaNE - November 14th, 2009 at 5:46 pm
What so rafa gets axed then the new manager is going to recall nemeth really? what are you thinking he would have a chance coming back quicker with rafa
YNWA
RyanO - November 14th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
Not even close Mr. Red. I’m saying that when the match starts, you support Liverpool Football Club. That the gaffer, the training staff, the players, every fucking one. There’s no room for hoping that we lose, it’s shameful. Of course I don’t want things to continue the way that they have, but I’m not sure firing the gaffer is going to put a stop to the injuries or bad luck we’ve had.

Mr.Red - November 14th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Yeah but I want to win in the long run and I just don’t see how Rafa is the one to lead us to success. Yes the owners are a huge problem as well but Rafa has literally built a team of very few quality players and injuries happen to every team but the best teams get through it. Because they have depth Rafa has signed 76 players!! where are they? and since he has such terrible relationships with his players he lets all the good ones go. I support the club no matter what but I also acknoweldge when theres a problem and needs to be fixed not just shrug my shoulders and hope for the best.

yeah you have a lot of guts ANONYMOUS!
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
Know exactly what mr red is saying but losing to city wouldn’t mean rafa would get sacked we don’t sack managers…unfortunately for nemeth and any other player with a bit of creativity at the club. He needs to stop scoring as many goals, being so creative, grow a ponytail and he will get a chance.
Rane-rafa is gonna go and spend £15m on carlton cole who has a fraction of nemeth’s ability but is suited to the lone striker role another manager would never have loaned him out and cancelling that loan would be the first thing a new manager not so obsessed with his formation would do. Nemeth would be the perfect partner for torres but having 2 strikers is much too attacking for benitez.
Mr.Red - November 14th, 2009 at 6:26 pm
Retryboy – November 14th, 2009 at 6:15 pm
Know exactly what mr red
Thank you Retryboy.. but also RyanO for the record I certainly understand where your coming from and respect you opinion. I’ve just never seen Liverpool in such a poor situation before and of course support everyone no matter what. However somebody has to take a little responsibility for our situation with players. Anyway we have gotten way of topic. Nemeth yes we need to bring him back start playing him he needs some first team action and N’gog has done alright filling in certainly rather see him then pony tail.
anonymous - November 14th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
liverpool have so meny great youngsters you arent giving there chance, mavinga is twice the player of the greek
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 6:39 pm
Well mavinga is a left back and only came at the last window so you can understand him having at least a full season in the reserves but kelly and ayala were both ready when kyrgiakos signed apparently was supposed to help them having an older, less talented player taking their first team opportunity away
anonymous - November 14th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
should just sell kyrgiakos and skrtel but upson who will improve kelly and ayala and give one of them the 4th spot
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 6:53 pm
Think skrtel will come good gotta calm his mad head down a bit though! You don’t wanna take any of his ferocity away but he goes haring out of position because he wants to tackle everything that moves and the defence loses its shape and he drops his partner in it. Gotta love him though guys an animal!
Rick - November 14th, 2009 at 7:18 pm
In Rafa’s defense, I believe that Kyrgiakos was signed only as a transition to players like Ayala and Kelly. Well we may have differing opinions of whether or not those two players are ready, Rafa, who should have a better idea than all of us, seems to believe that, while they are close (given their spot starts), Kelly and Ayala need a little bit more time.
On Nemeth, I don’t think that Rafa is refusing to use him. In fact, I think that the loan move was to give him valuable experience so as to make him the finished article. I think that this means that Rafa is actually looking to work Nemeth into the first team after his loan.
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
Look at united johnny evans he is their 3rd choice if someone gets injured he comes in. These youngsters already have 3 quality players ahead of them we didn’t need kyrgiakos and nor did they! we have seen the proof ayala played against stoke didn’t put a foot wrong. Kelly against lyon was awesome the couple of games the greek has played he has been a liability. What experience did owen and fowler have when they got their debuts 2/3 years younger than nemeth is now. Again look at united obertan 6/7 reserve games couple of carling cup and in the first team. Nemeth 25 goals for the reserves, player of the year not a sniff in the carling cup because the likes of voronin are there. Loaned out gets injured has an injury plagued campaign comes back to fitness bangs in the goals as always bags a couple pre-season and again loaned out because voronin scored a few in germany and rafa thought he was good. End of the day rafa will only play one striker nemeth and pacheco are both more suited to the rooney role thats why they don’t get chances because they don’t fit the system.
dave - November 14th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
retryboy u keep saying rafa should play nemeth and pacheco, then you start saying they wont fit in his system, then why did he f-ing buy them you knob head,he obviously does not think they are ready yet and if they don’t perform you are the sort of person who will say they are another couple of bad signings by rafa.
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
Dave-Who the fuck do you think you are talking to? you have your head so far up rafa’s ass you can smell the shit you talk you little faggot. I don’t get on any of the players backs especially not the young ones. I get on rafa’s back cos he keeps fucking everything up and wasting young talent with his defensive crap and mugs like you who know nothing about the game soak up all his shite just say BAA! For all your posts you fucking sheep.

rafa try something we are tired of them voronin………………voronin bounce..pacheco and nemeth first team take ur place……….

hey we need rafa to bring the young players

Rick - November 14th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Retryboy, I would agree that Ayala/Kelly should both be above Kyrgiakos now, given their recent performances. I just think that Rafa wanted a back-up plan given that Agger was injured at the beginning of the year.
On formations, I would have to say that I agree with you. We really don’t need two defensive midfielders. I personally would want to play something more like a 4-1-2-3, but I don’t think that we have good enough wingers for that. A 4-1-4-1, which is very similar, or a 4-1-3-2 might work though (though I don’t know how Aquilani would fit into the latter).

anonymous - November 14th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
liverpool = leeds isnt that fun to think about
Retryboy - November 14th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Still think he didn’t need him but i suppose thats the problem with the transfer window with agger out and carragher assaulting skrtels already mis-shapen jaw he was probably covering in case we lost carragher as well and would have been left playing 2 young centre backs together. Fact was skrtel only missed a game where as to start with they thought he would be out for 6 weeks but you can’t wait and see when the window is closing. Don’t have any problem with 4-5-1 just when you have 2 defensive players in there it puts us on the back foot and lets the other team into the game we have more quality than most teams even with injuries should be putting them on the back foot. All the earlier games of the season he could have had mascherano, gerrard and benayoun as the midfield 3 makes such a difference to the way the game goes but he would have probably had gerrard more defensive anyway. 4-5-1 played normally is actually no different to 4-4-1-1/4-4-2 its just another striker dropping bit deeper which one tends to do anyway. Its the 2 holding midfielders that changes everything to a defensive formation then with kuyt on the right who is just a work horse thats 1Gk, 4 defenders, 3 workers, just leaves 3 players with the job of breaking teams down making the magic thats why we look like a 2/3 man team because only gerrard, torres and whoever plays on the left are given licence to create. The way rafa plays is stay tight and wait for gerrard or torres to do something. Would personally still play 4-5-1 with mascherano, aquilani, gerrard but the moment we had one injury to stevie g or aquilani would get nemeth in there. He talks about small details well this is a small detail that shapes every game. Would have babel on the right too not kuyt. Benayoun on the left. Babel can beat people can cross just gets played on the wrong side all the time to accomodate kuyt.

colden - November 15th, 2009 at 2:29 am
I’d love to see Nemeth back sooner rather than later, but there might be a problem – looks like his (& Simon’s) loan to Athens was part of the Kyrgiakos deal (which is why we paid relatively little for him). I don’t think we would be able to cancel the loan deal mid-season (unless there is some sort of clause in it relating to injuries). The only consolation is that Nemeth is playing first team football every week, albeit at a lower level, but better than the reserve league (…just!!)
I’ve followed the reserves (& youth team) for many seasons, and totally agree with the earlier comments about Pacheco, Nemeth, Ayala & Kelly. Pacheco consistently gets MOTM, and set up 3 of our 4 goals against Hull last week. I can see him developing a superb partnership with Torres.
In terms of formation & our best team, how about a 4-1-4-1 as follows:
Reina
Kelly Carra Agger Aurelio
Masch
Johnson Gerrard Aquilani Benni
Torres
Another option would be to play Benni on the right, drop Johnson to full back, and play Riera on the left.
Before you all start complaining about including Riera, I think we sometimes need a naturally left footed player there to provide balance to the team (maybe Aurelio could do the same job).
I would then have Pacheco & Nemeth (when he’s back) on the bench. Agree about Babel – best to use him on the right, but as a sub, when the opposition are getting tired.

I know i repeated some players in diff positions but that indicates the rotation when some1 is not available in their position because we got a few players who can play in a few diff role.
anonymous - November 15th, 2009 at 6:37 am
oh on the last post i forgot to mention babel can play as a striker too incase torres is subbed off and i think babel will actully do ok in that role atleast better than veronin and Ngog
Anfield Faithful - November 15th, 2009 at 8:35 am
evrybody talks about alonso’s sale but acc 2 me rafa biggest mistake at the start of d season was to offload this kid to athens on loan .hope some sense prevails in jan nd he brings him back. He’s got some talent nd i agree with retroboy that nemeth and pacheco’s time has come
Retryboy - November 15th, 2009 at 8:35 am
Is very strong team Colden. The defence actually looks stronger for the inclusion of kelly which sounds weird when you are taking englands number one out of it. Wouldn’t worry at all about the natural left footer benayoun is better on the left because unlike babel he can come inside, get past people and pick a through ball. If we were to do that the one area of johnsons game would have him working 24/7 on is crossing lets him down so many times he has everything else to be a top winger. I would play Gk-reina, RB-johnson LB-aurelio CB-carragher CB-agger CM-mascherano CM-aquilani LM-benayoun ACM-gerrard RM-babel CF-torres… Back up team Gk-cavalieri/martin RB-darby/kelly LB-insua CB-skrtel CB-kelly/ayala/dominguez CM-spearing/plessis CM-lucas LM-riera CF-nemeth/pacheco CF-ngog/ecclestone RM-kuyt/ecclestone/el zhar
Gives us loads of cover everywhere with gulacsi, mavinga, Buchtmann, irwin, amoo, kacanilic, simon, developing well could clear out itandje, degen, dossena, kyrgiakos, voronin and personally would pay out big for someone like Cissokho to come in as first choice left back let aurelio go. Good player but 30 and injury prone and buy Koman for £4m more cover LM
Anfield Faithful - November 15th, 2009 at 8:37 am
also offload that hapeless voronoin from d team he’s bought nothing but disgrace 2 our club
Anfield Faithful - November 15th, 2009 at 8:40 am
also along with nemeth i think podolski will be a good addition.
he can come much cheaper than cole nd can also play on d left wing
baggins09 - November 15th, 2009 at 10:56 am
with our current squad if he insists on playing 4-5-1 which we know he will he should play with 2 CAM and 1 DM-

In my opinion we are asking to much of voronin we want him to drop behind torres and also run back to help lucas and masch and voronin isnt the player to run much or even at all we need Benny we need Aquil we need someone who is able to do that, voronin sad to say this has had is day and if hes not gone by janurary hell be away in the summer
kermit - November 15th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
i sqw mavinga play for the reserves you looks the business
nemeth i have never seen much of except in preseason and he looked the part then, can he be broguht back in january or is he on a years loan
kermit - November 15th, 2009 at 3:35 pm
spot on with your formation baggins, thats the one i d play with the players we have got, esp at home, switch to two def midfielders away at tough places like man u chelsea and arsenal
kermit - November 15th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
now i just read city have secuered a 36 million deal to bring angel di maria to eastlands, so i will say agian what i said in summer , time to nip in with a 6 million pound bid for martin petrov, hes one of the best left wingers out there and he carries a serious threat down the left
...samlfc.... - November 15th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Nemeth issure to be a star for the future and hopefully willbe given the chance to play when his loan expires.
With Torres banging the goals in, Gerrard scoring scorchers while threading through balls in and Aquilani doing the same, Nemeth giving the assists while scoring aswell come Feb we will be on fire and we’ll go on a long unbeaten run i’m sure of it!
the reason why Voronin (i know….it makes me angry sayng the name aswell) plays is because of the injuries but then again there is still N’gog and Babel so why he is still playing Voronin beats me…
...samlfc.... - November 15th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Kemrit i agree with you on Petrov as he is class and is pretty much not wanted at Man city .
he has a powerful left foot, great crossing ability and for £6-£10mill would be a bargin and will solve our problem of not having proper wingers.
Retryboy - November 15th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Spot on baggins 4-5-1 can be attacking with only one holding midfielder and we have the best in mascherano. See you put dossena and insua as your left backs rafa is wanting to give aurelio a new 2 year deal think its crazy myself with his injury record and at 30 years old gonna end up wasting £5m over the next 2 years with him sat in the treatment room!
Retryboy - November 15th, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Personally would let aurelio and dossena go. Rafa is willing to spend £15m on a striker who will sit on the sidelines when everyone is fit. Would rather see that go on a top class left back like Cissokho who will strengthen the first team and insua can learn his trade as his back up. We have torres, nemeth, ngog, pacheco, babel, ecclestone, kuyt. Usually you can cancel a loan at any time. If they start complaining give them kyrgiakos back
Retryboy - November 15th, 2009 at 4:19 pm
Thing about city is they can pick and choose who to sell a player to and we would be the last team they would sell anyone to. They like chelsea don’t have to balance the books and can leave a £10m player in the reserves and it not make a difference so can’t see it being a possibility. Remember mourinho doing it with cudicini wouldn’t let him go to anyone who might be a rival. Think we are strong on the left benayoun, riera and i hope Koman to come.
Anfield Faithful - November 15th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Yeah krygiakos for nemeth is always a win win scenario but i dont think aurelio should be sent packing , instead give him a contract like owen
Retryboy - November 15th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Would have thought thats what he would have done pay as you play or 1 year max but you couldn’t trust just having him and insua with any experience with aurelio averaging about 18 games a season think if we had our strongest line up as well left back would be the weakest position. So yeah pay as you play would be ideal don’t think he could complain at that, he hasn’t earnt a 2 year deal
