Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly contemplating a £10 million January move for Arsenal striker Eduardo.
The Croatian forward is thought to be becoming increasingly agitated at the Emirates with his lack of first team football, although that could soon change after the weekend international injury picked up by Robin van Persie.
Rafael Benitez is desperate to add some strike power to his struggling Reds side, and the News of the World reports that the 26-year-old striker is at the top of Benitez’s wish list to make a possible partnership with Spanish superstar Fernando Torres.
The Brazilian-born star has made a commendable recovery from his horrific injury, a leg break picked up against Birmingham City in the summer of 2008. Back to full fitness, Eduardo is eager to play more football after missing out for so long during his recovery.
After making only 25 appearances for the Gunners since signing in 2007, Benitez will need to persuade the striker that there will be more starting minutes on the table at Anfield if he is to have any chance of signing the striker on a £10 million deal. (Give Me Football)
Now by dream I mean this is just not going to happen. I wish it would, believe me I really do, but it won’t. First off Eduardo has an Arsenal future and alongside Robin Van Persie they have an excellent top notch partnership and secondly the sum reported, £10m, isn’t close to his worth.
The Croatian would no doubt work well alongside El Nino and he is a lethal instinctive finisher who can also create something out of nothing. Given that Rafa hasn’t got much in the way of funds we are going to have to be a lot more shrewd in the transfer market and look for bargains and I am afraid that doesn’t mean forking out £20m for Carlton Cole either!

We need to give David Ngog more of a chance, we can’t afford to sign a new striker or any worth so need to make the most of what we have. Eduardo would indeed be a dream though. He is a quality player.

although some say he is Voronin is not rubbish, just like any striker whos not playing many games with a lot of pressure on them hes nervous and not yet reached his potential.
I would say considering how long morientes and other strikers have had he deserves another chance, but people really have got to get behind him as throwing stick at him will never help.
Mascherano i cant see goin, lucas i wouldnt min seeing him go i know hes tried hard this season but he really just lacks the quality, having lucas and mascherano in midfield means we have no creativity in the middle of the park.
Now aqualani is back maybe that will change.
Its a shame about the rule in the premiership of having 8 player trained in england in your squad, cause im sure if that had not been the case pacheco or maybe even dalle valle would have had there chance by now.

mascherano might leave for 36M and we would have a transfer budget of 20M with also sales of voronin and dossena. Roughly 60M. Id say bring in Suarez(18M), Silva(20M), Diarra/De Rossi(20M). and bring in that bright young talent vladimir koman. il be damned if we spend a single cent on defenders. they lads are great, but just out of form. He would not go to a smaller club.
He wants to play in the Champions League for years to come.
Then surely he would come to the biggest European club in the world? and that my friend, is Liverpool.
However, for 10 million..whoever wrote this is having a laugh….if crouch is worth 10 million to spurs then eduardo is worth 20 million to us..thats the way arsenal will see it, and i dont think this guy is worth 20m.

to anon at 9 54 , i would agree that voronin isn t utterly rubbish and i would agree he suffers fromnot playng regularly, but from a realistic standpoint he is never going to nail down the second striker role whil gerrard and aquilani are there, for this reason he isnot good enouugh , he seems to have a need to be the main man and liverpool are just too big a club for him to be that with us, so for his own sake he ought to be off aswell as for ours, because we could then throw some youngsters in at the deep end like man utd or arsenal do when deep in injury crisis, wellbeck and macheda have had games for man u, and you may say ngog has for us, but pachecho hasn t, and he is an ideal number ten.
he wouldnt expect a regular start at his age he would be eager to prove himself, and he is currently playing regular football with the reserve team. so why not in crisis turn to him instead of an underconfident voronin , who we do rightfully expect things of when he gets his chance to shine, i think he suffers something similar to babel.the difference being ryan babel is god enough for the first 11, and voronin isnt and never really will be

not spend a single pennyon a defe3nder , are you an idiot??
isnt it clear that we and carra suffers without sami hyppias aerial reassurance , we concede goals like water from setpieces. i d spend a lot of money on a top quality cenbtrak defender one thats good in the air esp , good on the deck and weighs in with goals from setpieces, its no coincidence that hyppia leaves and our defense starts to leak goals
all good teams are built from the defense up, agger is class, skrtel is suffering because carragher is suffering and carragher is suffering because he is not so tall and needed hyppia s presence to reassure him at set pieces . i m not bashing carragher either for what he lacks in height he makes up for with his superb reading of the game, and this is what made them such a good partnership they complimented each other.
now agger is pure class on the deck yet average i the air and very injury prone, i d be looking at hangeland or someone of his ilk to solidfy our central defense
our attacking options when everyone is fit are quite good
torres ngog kuyt babel riera gerrard aquilani yossi glen johnson are all attack minded players, you could even add lucas to that list as he grows in confidence
saying that i like the look of juan mata , and javi martinexz in midfeild and steven defour as dm
the roblem up front is torres has never really played in a 442
he didnt at atletico , he doesnt now, he is forced to with the spanish national side but in my mind he never looks happy alongside villa, thats why no to villa for liverpool so who can you buy to partner torres. there is no other gerrard out there to buy, any attackers mentioned on here recently dont seem to fit playing alongside torres, i personally think yossi could do well in there
but our primary [problem with buying a striker is we need to buy quality, not someone for the bench he also needs to be able to partner torres but he also needs to be able to play as a lone front man also,
someone mentioned podolski, he could make a verygood partner for torres, but can he play up front alone if torres is injured or should we then partner him with ngog
i still believe we ought to sign martin petrov from city for five million in the jan window
he would still be available for europe, is relatively cheap is a great crosser of a ball and we lack a serious threat left side, against birmingham everything came from the right side and notably glen johnson, who has really surprised me with his performances so far this season, he is a better player than i though and is possibly our player fo the season so far/maybe torres,
lucas is reaching that platform of being consistently good without setting the world alight and this is his platform from which he can grow and up his game even more, i fully believe that potential is there, he just needed to and still needs to perform concsistently to a cetrain level, look at the fan polls on lfc tv , in the man of the match selections, every week lucas is third choice, thats not bad out of a starting 11, After two tough years i believe he deserves praise from all liverpool fans for his level of consistency this year and with praise we will see the real lucas emerge, something which to my mind hasnt happened yet.

we are all talking about players but unfortunatly it starts with the manager . who this season has been left wanting . hes had the time and the money to build a squad. not just the odd good player bare in mind aquillani is unproven and carra and steve g are homegrown even hyppia was a houllier signing. enough is enough against fulham he looked out ov his depth . sorry rafa youve had long enough . i personaly would go back to basics and remove all the dead wood. this season is over for us and i would look to steady the ship and gel the new players in {the ones we probrably wont buy} that we buy in the transfer window . to all kopites i dont mean to sound down hearted but these are facts the board should address . and the board is another s.a .keep the faith lfc 4 eva
