Slovenia played much better, and deserved to win without any doubt. Russians kinda got together in the second half, but Slovenians clearly had the greater desire to win. Though they played on a small stadium he fans were incredible, and in my opinion they made all the diference, it must have been loud as in a rock concert over there. I feel bad for Russians, they’ve seen red two times in the second half. The first time it was a clear, the goalkeeper had the ball under control and recived a kick, while in the second, I don’t really know what happened, but anyway it was too late to change anything.
Small Slovenia had won agaist mighty Russia,
I like it!!!
Keep on the good work Slovenia. I hope you’ll do well in SAR!

I don’t feel bad for the russians at all. They are a shitty team and a shitty country. Plus the red cards were totally warranted. I guess the Kremlin will be dissappointed and Hiddink’s head may be on a pike next morning…

I did not want to leave a comment but these two, who used this internet space to express their hatered to Russia, made me to step in and mention that they are two miserable individuals who do not know what is the friendly competitition spirit is. Just very stupid people express hatered to each other on stadiums and in the internet. Russians do tremendous job rebuilding their country and revivng their sport from ruins, GO Sport!!! GO Russia!!!, GO Slovenia !!! as all other countries. And do not listen shitty American propaganda about Russia. By the way I am not from Russia. I am from America.

ireland had to go to WC’10, neither of this teams… Slovenia won only 1 time out of 4 for both games and it is shame for them, how they played against 10 russian players on their home stadium (yea, i really don’t understand the quantity of cards, which were given to russians … as well as red card which was given to kerzhakov – goalkeeper haven’t even fixed the ball and there was no any kick from his side – go to http://www.youtube.com).
Shame on both teams.

“I guess the Kremlin will be dissappointed and Hiddink’s head may be on a pike next morning…”
what can u to assume about Russia, if u’ve not been there?
You didn’t read Russian classics, don’t know, than there live Russian, don’t know that occurs in Rossia.
That thou hast told, stinks of island/ american propagation – special for servants – in the spirit of the “Big game”. Don’t trust those who tries to learn “to see correct” thou – thou can deceive

By-the-way, at time of Ioann Grozny (+/-1560) in stuctures of a state security of Russia worked exclusively foreigners – from central Europe, and also there were Scottish experts as regards tortures (those “good” guys who “beat out” from accused the crime-data)

Well the win of Slovenia was clearly deserved. They dominated the russians completly in the first half. Offcorse they played counter attacking football in the second half, because of the positive result ( I mean who wouldn’t ? ). And about the 2 red cards. Well the first one is a little harsh i think but deserved a booking atleast a yellow. The second don’t remember if he had a yellow card before. If he did, It’s also the right decision.
Good luck on the WC 2010

ok people the second red card was because russian player had pushed one of slovenian member of the team i think that he had the yellow card before and the red card was deserved. The russians just cant survive that they lost and slovenia deserved to win!!!

I am from russia and I was really devastated by this loss, but Slovenia fully deserved their win.
The irish got a really tough break though, even Maradona’s hand of god fades comparing to what Henry did

I can’t wait for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. I think the U.S. team will have a good chance of advancing this time around. I pick Italy to win it all in 2010.
anonymous - November 20th, 2009 at 8:33 am
Time will tell)))
anonymous - November 20th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
I couldn’t really understand what was going on in the first half. I thought Slovenians would drop dead after 30 or so minutes, but they just kept pushing. It was surprising, that kind of football one can only see in the Premier League (I mean, not in terms of technical perfection but of attitude)
anonymous - November 20th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
Okay you guys totally suck! Saying “Shitty country” you just so f***ing proved that most Americans lost their brain while soaking in all that crap their presidents gave them.
So why don’t you shut the heck up and have some respect for other ppl.
WHO ARE YOU to Judge both teams and speak of who deserves it and who doesn’t? ALL FREAKIN teams deserve to win, it sooo depends on many details!
And if you don’t understand it – go kill yourself!

Slovenia played much better, and deserved to win. They dominita most of the game, but they strenght fall in 70min. Russian try to score but Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovi? was on FIRE.
2milion country defeated 144 mili,….
anonymous - November 21st, 2009 at 8:40 am
Against Greece, Portugal and France would have been much more difficult as against Russia. So that was the only luck that Slovenija had! The rest was the result of brilliant execution by the team! And lets face it – Russia was lucky not to get more than 1 gol!
Shame in Henry!!!
SLOVENIJA GRE NAPREJ !
