Retryboy - November 22nd, 2009 at 6:54 pm
Unbelievable result. Spurs are definitely more of a threat to the top four than city.
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 6:58 pm
Damn, Tottenham raped them
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 7:12 pm
good shit by the spurs.. I agree they are definitely a threat right now with Lennon and Defoe on form like this
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 7:16 pm
great goal Kranjcar
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 7:17 pm
and their best player is Modric who missed the game
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Im one who believes that embarrassing opponents isnt needed… They could have stopped after 5 goals, or 6 max, and still proven a solid point. I do like spurs, and lennon especially, but Redknapp shud have told them to stop scoring and play out the game…. i feel really bad for Wigan…. results like these destroy all traces of moral and can even lead to fights and bad blood…. sad to see
Retryboy - November 22nd, 2009 at 8:10 pm
Anon 7.43 we aren’t talking about school boy football here. Goal difference could be important at the end of the season and international managers look at goals scored no way should any league team let their foot off the pedal.
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 8:19 pm
and modric will come soon…
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 8:24 pm
retryboy… you are telling me that a 6-1 win wouldn’t suffice…. many games have finished in fights and worse due to overexaggerative results….. no need to embarrass opponents like that…. even in the fourth minute of stoppage time, there was no need to push for a ninth goal… i agree, winning big is important…. goal difference is important and impressing international managers is important… defoe is a lock for england, at least in my eyes… so scoring 3 or scoring 5 won’t change much for capello… and remember, it is easy for defoe to score 5 on a weak wigan squad… there is no way he could to that to teams like Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, etc..
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 8:50 pm
spurs are more of a threat to city than liverpool
Retryboy - November 22nd, 2009 at 9:01 pm
Wigan are a professional team whose players are on 50k a week. Defoe is a lock for the squad but that performance could go a long way to getting him a starting place along with lennon. You can’t worry about opposing fans you have to perform for your team. Letting the foot off the pedal wouldn’t be fair on anyone. Wigans goal difference could be the difference between them going down and another team if it were an fa cup game against a conference team then might agree but it wasn’t.

when i heard 9-1 i thought it was some retro clip but wtf wigan were fighting to be in the top half not long ago and now gettin butt raped by tottenham who were last year bottom about this point last season
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 10:00 pm
shit
spurs are da new harrys ripperz lol!!
Damn. Ausome
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 10:04 pm
The guy who says harry should have asked Spurs to stop scoring is an idiot. Harry should have brought on both Keane and Pav and told them to push it to double figures. We need to match the top teams in terms of goal difference and we’re not doing enough. So whoever this guy is, go screw yourself, who cares about the morale of the opponents? We need more goals! COYS!
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 10:07 pm
anon 8.24 you’re just an idiot ok? why dont u tell Wenger to tell ARSEnal to stop scoring when they were 1-0 up against us to avoid ‘fights’? Idiot, just like the ARSEs. harry should tell defoe to score 2 hat tricks and let pav go bag a few more. otherwise, u could wear the orange of wigan and go feel sorry for yourself.
anonymous - November 22nd, 2009 at 10:25 pm
wot a result. sat screamin at the tv “i want ten” haha. spurs 4 life!
kermit - November 22nd, 2009 at 10:54 pm
i am utterly disappointed with spurs , i watched the game and was waqnting ten goals , then only scored nine ,poor performance all around by the guys in white
kermit - November 22nd, 2009 at 10:55 pm
and i m all for battering teams 23-0 if possible, sometimes you just want your eam to beat someone tonk them so bad they have nightmares everytime they see a football
Digger - November 23rd, 2009 at 1:36 am
great footy by spurs, always said that liverpool brought the wrong striker from spurs…..dafoe is pure class…
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 3:06 am
Wigan were appalling.
There is no way a mid table club like Wigan would ever turn out a performance like that against a top 4 club. It is obvious that lower teams raise their game for the top 4 sides but not for the clubs just outside the top 4 like Spurs, Villa and City.
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 6:36 am
The guy who says spurs should have lt up is mistaken. Football isn’t like US sports where a win is a win. It’s all about goal difference and Spurs got a massive boost in goal difference today. Getting +8 today could be all the difference between qualifying for the champions league or not next season. It was massive and I’m glad Spurs didn’t let off the gas. It’s just a shame Krankjar will get benched when Modric gets back because he looked magnificent today. Very much like Pires used to for Arsenal coming off that left flank and controlling possession.
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 9:11 am
Wow, STop scoring just because its already 6 – 1.. What an idiot.. Come on! If it was Man UTD you would have said. They are a Top Team no surprise there!
Dont be an idiot and let the football entertain you. This is how Spurs play when they are given the chance and certainly They didnt fail to deliver when Wigan turned off for the 2nd half. Karma for that Handball goal some would say but Heck.. Turning off for 2nd half and became lazy is much more of a disgrace than letting your opposition bang in 9 goals. Be rational and just dont crap out stupid stuff will yah~~
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 11:13 am
Think its great to see so many goals in one game! We pay so much to see games like this sometimes to come away 0-0. I think we should keep scoring til the end none of this stop scoring milarky! what a load of bull!
kermit - November 23rd, 2009 at 1:40 pm
the unfortunate thing for spurs is thta you ll go out and get beaten by some stoopid team next week , still think city are more of a threat to the top four than spurs , though if spurs solve their primary problem , ie consistency then they really could threaten
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 3:00 pm
The goal Wigan scored was hand ball can believe the ref or lines man didn’t see it, I think Super Spurs should ask for a replay.
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 3:23 pm
kermit, surely we’re more consistent than City who lie below us in the table. I do think City could be a threat but they looked awful for the most part against Liverpool and that’s their 6th draw in a row. Problem they have is that players will get unhappy. Adebayor without Champions League? I can imagine that would go down a treat. Robinho wants a Barca move, Tevez is talking retirement. The wheels are beginning to fall off. As for the win yesterday, anyone that thinks that Spurs should have stopped scoring needs their heads checking. Wigan don’t have disabilities, they put in brilliant performances against Chelsea and Villa, so everybody knows what they’re about. It’s their choice if they want to concentrate or not, if they want to give up then I’m sorry but football isn’t a charity. Not only this but they blatantly cheated to get back in the game when it was 3-0. It’s been said time and time again but goal difference is crucial. We’re on +14 after that, and if that result was the difference between Europe and no Europe, then sorry Wigan but I don’t care about sparing your blushes enough.
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 8:00 pm
Kermit, you’re another ARSEnal fan I suppose? Another moron then? How many league games have Man City WON over the past month? Do you need me to tell you that they took six matches to get the same no. of points we got over the past 2 matches? Ironically, City did show ‘consistency’ – they consistently cant win! Go get your facts right you fool. COYS!
anonymous - November 23rd, 2009 at 11:04 pm
