Tottenham want to sign Micah Richards in January because some more money and extended exposure to the central London nightclub scene is what he really needs to make him knuckle down and stop running about like an extremely athletic confused man trying to find the right night-bus stop at 3.30am in an unknown provincial town. (Guardian)
If Mark Hughes is willing allow Micah Richards to leave Eastlands, and the Man City defender has spent two of the last three games sitting on the bench, then Harry Redknapp would do well to capture the England international. Whilst Tottenham have a few centre backs to hand, a large chunk of them are perennially injured and quite why Micah isn’t getting more of a chance at City is beyond me. Therefore it does seem a distinct possibility that the north London side could be the favourites to land the Birmingham born lad.
When the youngster first hit the scene he was attracting all sorts of attention and was a regular in the senior England set up but his career has stuttered somewhat of late but at just 21 he has great potential. Some sources are valuing the adaptable defender in the region of £9m which in today’s market would be an absolute steal.

There’s no need to worry about any late night partying either as Harry has sorted that problem with a ban on excess drinking.

If he is an Arsenal fan and joining Spurs would be a problem to him let him rot on the bench at Man City.

Did we not sign Dean Richards for a similar sum?

Very much hope he doesn’t sign – another “professional” with more interest in getting legless and a completely lackadaisical attitude to training is the last thing we need. Richards’ bad manners, bad attitude and bad training apparently drive the Man City staff around the bend. No ta.

Viv Richards would do a better job

Micah richards …bad mannered etc….well met him once a while ago…seen him a couple of times, staying in the same hotel and…he actually seemed really lovely…..I didnt know who he was at the time but watched him sign autographs for maybe 30 mins not complaining…not 1 other player was doing that.
I spoke to him and he seemed genuinly lovely, actually a little shy. Not what I would have expected. He obviously did have the talent and I imagine still does…just needs the right manager to guide him about his lifestyle…and possibly the right girlfriend who will encourage him rather the glory in the limelight.
Harry Redknapp could probably be that manager.
