Harry linked with a move for Ivorian striker.
Tottenham are planning a £10m bid for Ivory Coast striker Seydou Doumbia according to reports today.
The 21-year-old currently plies his trade in Switzerland for Young Boys of Berne, but is being tipped to partner Didier Drogba at the World Cup for his national team.
Tottenham will likely face competition from Ruben Kazan and CSKA Moscow, who have already had £8m bids turned down for the striker who has netted 16 goals this season. (Independent)
Given that Harry Redknapp can’t find space in their set up for a striker as richly talented as Roman Pavlyuchenko it seems unlikely that the White Hart Lane boss will be looking to spend big on another forward. Doumbia also has very little in the way of top notch experience having plied his trade so far in the distinctly average leagues in Switzerland and Japan.
It seems far more likely that Harry may look to snap up a young and upcoming player from the lower leagues or trust to his youth policy rather than investing large sums of money of a fourth striker who in all likelihood will only find playing time in the Carling Cup.
