Brazilian striker Welliton has revealed he would be interested in a move to Tottenham.
Reports in Russia have claimed Spartak Moscow are keen on bringing unsettled Spurs forward Roman Pavlyuchenko back to the club and could use Welliton as part of the deal.
Pavlyuchenko is understood to be considering his future at White Hart Lane as he is unhappy with his lack of first-team action under Harry Redknapp.
Welliton has attracted the interest of a number of clubs after scoring 21 goals this season and he is open to the idea of an exchange with Pavlyuchenko.“Tottenham are a famous club with a good infrastructure,” Welliton is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.
However, Welliton admits he would also be happy to stay and play alongside Pavlyuchenko at Spartak if the Russian was to return to his homeland.
“Of course I’d be happy if we signed him,” added Welliton. “I don’t see any reason to be upset. I only have pleasant memories of playing together with him.
“We are both versatile forwards who would complement each other.”
Meanwhile, Lokomotiv Moscow have played down reports that they are close to sealing a deal for Pavlyuchenko.
Lokomotiv president Nikolay Naumov has refused to rule out a move for Pavlyuchenko, but claims there have been no talks between the two clubs.
“Our interest in Pavlyuchenko is no more than a rumour,” said Naumov. (Sky Sports)
So there you have it, as Roman continues to hope for a move to a club who may give him the playing time he deserves his former club have a Brazilian who would very much like to join us, will this swap deal happen, almost certainly not!
Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios was taken to hospital after suffering a rib injury at the end of his side’s 2-2 draw away at Everton on Sunday.
The 25-year told was hurt when he was fouled by Tony Hibbert, which resulted in a penalty that Jermain Defoe missed.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp revealed: “They have taken him to hospital and he is in a lot of pain.
“He is a tough lad so it can’t be very good for him to be struggling like he is. Hopefully he will be OK.” (BBC Sport)
Wilson is a footballing god in my eyes. The guy never complains and gets the job done with minimum fuss and is one of the best in his position in the Premier League and is probably the best buy Harry has made since he came to the club. The Honduran plays with controlled passion and is loved by all Tottenham fans, be included, hopefully this injury won’t sideline him for long and frankly I can imagine playing for the club even if he were covered in bandages from head to toe.
In other news three loaned out players all appear to be very happy plying their trade away from White Hart Lane in order to get themselves a first team place. Adel Taarabt continues to do a great job at QPR and whilst I think Redknapp is keeping a close eye on the attacker I can see him leaving in the summer to try his luck out on the continent where perhaps he will prove his worth.
Teenager John Bostock is getting a good spell of football down at Griffin Park and appears to be keen on staying at Brentford for a while longer and I think it would suit all parties if he remained at the League One club for the rest of the season to give him a good grounding of experience then he can come back in the summer and give the first team picture at White Hart Lane a good go.
Jamie O’Hara is another loanee who is impressing many. At Pompey is something of a big fish in a small pond and he played a blinder on the weekend against Burnley, culminating in a magical cross that set up Portsmouth’s second of the game. Obviously Jamie is something of a cult hero at the club and I think he is a quality player but it would be interesting to see what the lad decides to do if he is offered a permanent deal at Fratton Park.

The crazy Harry has cost us two points again. I do not understand why the hell he is playing Crouch. HE has been and will always be a third or second class striker. Imagine to sell Bent for Crouch. Just the most ridiculous thing anyone can do. It all boils down to the ‘who i like, who i hate’ attitude of Harry’s once again. All because Bent was not bought by him but Crouch was. So Crouch is automatically better. The whole match, all Crouch did was to jump for balls, touch the ball with his head and hope it lands with a spurs player. He can not dribble and can not shoot and can not even head properly and end up with his tongue out. Should just go back on the MPV and stuck his stupid head out (like what he did after partying). Bent made one small mistake, Harry mentioned Sandra. Crouch makes silly errors every week, no Sandra is involved. Total biasness all because Crouch was signed by the old idiot himself. And unless HArry changes his ‘i am correct selfish mentality’, Dos Santos will never get a chance. Damn Harry. Any player will be better than Crouch. And if HArry just want a tall idiot to jump and simply head down the ball blindly, then just go buy the tallest man in the world!!!

You Twat, Bent hasnt scored for weeks, it was good business getting rid of him, you only have to look at the league table to tell you ‘Arry knows what he’s doing!!!

He maybe a moron in regards to his comments concerning ‘Arry, but think he has hit the nail on the head about Crouch. We all knew the type of player he was before he came to the lane, and he hasn’t exceeded my expectations. I thought against Everton it would have been better playing with 10 men. Even against Wigan, apart from the first goal, he was never in the game. Granted he scores a few but is he a top 4 player, I don’t think so. But I am guessing as long as Bale gets a chance there is hope for everybody. If anyone cost us the game against Everton it was our left backs, especially Ekotto for even letting ‘Arry consider bringing on Bale.

slagging off Crouch is pointless. he scores for spurs and for england. we cant complain at all. Yes he’s a giant but his lay offs help the smaller players in out teams an thats whats helpin us be where we are now. (and lennon of course)
