MADRID — Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas may have dismissed it but speculation continues here that the Spaniard will sign for either Barcelona or Real Madrid next season.
According to Sports daily Marca, Real Madrid are prepared to make a 50 million euro offer for the 22-year-old Gunners playmaker whom they regard as an ideal partner for Xabi Alonso in midfield.
But the paper adds Real are in for a battle royal with Barcelona who they claim have already made contact with the Catalan-born player and his advisers.
Fabregas himself stressed last week that he was happy to stay at Arsenal.
He told The Daily Mail: “I want to continue to be part of what is happening here. Definitely.
“If not I would have left when I had the opportunity, three years ago, two years ago or last year.
“I believe in this team and I feel we can achieve things. The boss believes in us more than anyone, and I feel I am part of it. He makes me see that as well. And I don’t want to fail here.” (AFP)
Its been a few weeks since we had another fix of the usual Barcelona/Real Madrid/Arsenal transfer triangle so we can forgive this latest tit-bit, but is there really any reason for Arsenal fans to be worried about a potential offer being a) accepted and b) Fabregas considering such a move? Well I think not.
Whilst the Spanish international has been around for what seems like an age he is still just 22 and therefore has a long career ahead of him so any fear of a few seasons without silverware and success is tempered by the fact that he has already achieved so much at such a young age.
Above all else Cesc clearly loves playing for Arsenal and therefore probably has no intention of leaving the Emirates and financially speaking the north London club are on a relatively firm footing and therefore do not need to accept bids for their most prized asset.

£50mill for Cesc is a must for Wenger, with that sort of cash plus the sale of Almunia/Senderos/Clichy/Eboue we can bring in some top needed players to build a squad that could truly win trophies! Lloris/Matthews/Zapata/Turan/Cole. RVP/Bentdner/Cole/Eduardo/Vela as a strike force is the envy of Europe, Ramsey/Denilson/Song/Diaby/Nasri/Wilshere as our midfield is just as strong with Cesc! Walcott/Turan/Arshavin/Rosicky as our attacking midfield options. H e has to consider that sort of money for the welfare of the club, need a worldclass goalkeeper, worldclass central defender and a big tough strong striker!!!

He’s one of the only players in the world actually worth this kind of money. Aguero for 50M? What a load of chelski shit. Wouldn’t be surprised if Cesc left though. Sorry you gooners.

even if wenger sells cesc (which wont happen) where wil real play him???
this is pure wishful thinking by real n barca…
they hav no place other than t bench for cesc… or r u tellin me real’ll giv up their CDM Diarra n play wit alonso, kaka, ronaldo n cesc in t middle ??? tat wud be a disaster considering their fragile defence…
Real dont need cesc at all…
On the other hand Laporta’s tryin to lure him to barca just to use him as a pawn to win t elections…
Seriously these 2 spanish clubs need to grow up n find somethin better to do…

I think us gooners have to be realistic that one day cesc will leave the club and the most likely destination will be his spiritual home of Barcelona
We haven’t got the money to spend on the so called superstars and we will continue to struggle against the chelski’s and uniteds of the world.
It’s a hard pill to swallow, believe me, but we have to accept our standing in the premiership. With Man City, now becoming serious players in the race for the top 4, how long till our place is taken?
Back to the topic of Cesc, put yourself in he’s shoes….If you were playing for a club that continuously inderachieved and had a chance to join the (arguably) best team in the world…..what would you do????

You gooners fans should come the realization that cesc has grown beyond Arsenal already. You need to win tophies as a player. That is the beauty of the game. Dont be too selfish, unless wenger does something to bring in more experienced players, i bet cesc is already out of Arsenal so that he can win trophies before its too late for him.
