Manchester United eased past an in form Wolves side to help Sir Alex’s side bounce back from the weekend’s defeat at home to Aston Villa. It was a young Manchester United side who took on Mick McCarthy’s side with the likes of De Laet, Gibson and Obertan all getting starts/
A Wayne Rooney penalty put Manchester United one up after an ill advised handball from Ronald Zubar and the Old Trafford side continued to pile on the pressure and scored a second just before the break through Nemanja Vidic.
Manchester United winger Luis Antonio Valencia added a third.
The win gives Manchester United a chance to pile on the pressure on league leaders Chelsea prior to their midweek match at home to Portsmouth.

united didn’t play amazingly but they still would have beaten the full strength wolves team. wolves aren’t gonna play like they did against spurs every week and i think it was wise of mccarthy to rest players for the burnley game where the 3 points still aren’t guaranteed but they have a much better chance. + berba = class and it’s good to see valencia scoring more goals than he did at wigan

Calvo…
Saw the game and was not overly impressed with Utd and im a Utd fan.
The tempo of our game whether fast or slow was poor the passing sloppy and too many times not enough care in the final third.
I can appreciate the fact that players like Gibson, Obertan, De Laet are relatively new in the sense of playing first team football but all in all, not that great a performance and while the saying is that if a team can win playing badly I would hope that Utd can up their level.
Against someone like say Fulham away i doubt whether Utd could perform like they did last night and come away with a win.
And I really like Berba and was one person championing the fact that Utd had signed him but for whatever reason it still does not seem as though its working out for him and really hope it does as there is no question about his touch and vision but something is missing possibly fitness…
And to me if Scholes is playing why have Gibson why not Anderson who offers more pace and tempo to the midfield as at times both Gibson and Scholes were going for the same ball or too slow to close down the opposition.
The few bright sparks in the game was obviously Valencias goal and when Welbeck came on and Obertan getting a game aswell as some much needed game time for Berbatov.
But apart from about 5 games this season where Utd looked strong in everything they did its been too much of a huff and puff season and for me one maybe two signings in January to give fresh inputus, drive and creativness to take some of the pressure that is on Rooney and Giggs shoulders.

the game has been brought into disrepute by these teams and mcarthy will be charged by the EPL possible replay on the cards

the game has not been brought into disrepute you obviously just dislike man u stop being an idiot. i actually find it funny how people bye into the united won the last 3 leagues because they cheated bollocks. it’s just petty jealousy. and there clearly won’t be a replay

I am certainly not a fan of Man Utd, but do not see what they have done wrong here. They fielded a team that was good enough to win the match, so should not need to replay the game. The only fair thing to do now is to deduct wolves 6pts and ensure they need the points so badly they have to put out the best team they can for every game.
At least then they can say, even if they are relegated, they did their best and if Man Utd get the title they will have won it and not been given it.

Just remember Burnley beat them, if I was in Wolves first team, I would demand a transfer, clearly McCarthy doesn’t have faith in them.
