We need your help to find the best Premier League players of the year. Cast your mind back over the year and think about the performers who most impressed you. We are looking to find the ten most referenced players who we will then place on an all important poll which will then lead us to a winner.
There are the candidates who always pop up in such awards list, mainly because they are the most consistent players out there, the likes of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Cesc Fabregas and Wayne Rooney, all of whom have had good years. However there are also the less glamorous players who have nonetheless shown their talents in 2009, players like Carlton Cole, Brede Hangeland and Ryan Shawcross.
There are also those who greatly improved during the course of the last year such as Aaron Lennon, Darren Fletcher or Louis Saha.
Remember we are talking about the entire year so don’t be swayed simply by the start of this term, recall also those who ended last season with a bang.
