France international striker Loic Remy has expressed his desire to leave Ligue 1 outfit Nice after angry fans barracked the club’s players following a 1-0 home defeat by Auxerre on Wednesday evening.

Les Aiglons, who are missing eight players due to the African Cup of Nations, had seemed set to achieve a 0-0 draw against AJA, but leaked a goal to Ireneusz Jelen in the dying moments of the match. This defeat, which leaves Didier Olle-Nicolle’s side only six points above the drop zone, sparked a furious response from the club’s supporters. Remy, by some way his side’s star player this season, was not amused.

“I wet my shirt for people who spit at me, it’s unacceptable,” he fumed to RTL. “If I am to be spat upon, I will consider leaving the club before the end of the transfer window.

“The situation is critical for the club, I try to do my best but I am not a robot. I cannot do everything alone. There are clubs who are interested, so we’ll see what happens.”

According to Le Parisien, Arsenal and Bordeaux are two of the sides closely monitoring the former Olympique Lyonnais youth’s progress. However, it will likely take a huge bid to prise the seven-goal forward away from the Stade du Ray, where the directors turned down an eight-figure offer from OL to re-sign him in the summer. At 23 years old, the Rhone-born striker is considered one of the best in Ligue 1 and was linked to Milan and Fiorentina on Tuesday. (Goal.com)

Arsene Wenger has reportedly been trailing young French International striker Loic Remy for some time and it appears that the time to make a move would be now as the Nice player comes under renewed attack from his own fans after a disastrous start to the Ligue One season.

The 23 year old has previously, perhaps unrealistically, been compared to Thierry Henry and as such rumours of a move to the Emirates would clearly go down well with the Arsenal fans but it is worth noting that despite the TH14 tag the nippy well build forward is a very talented player and a move for the Nice man could well be on the cards and I would have thought that if the player had to pick between a move to French champions Bordeaux, possibly to replace Marouane Chamakh, or a move to the Gunners he would surely take a move to the Premier League without blinking, especially as it would mean teaming up with Arsene Wenger.

Everton have agreed to sign Philippe Senderos on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old Swiss defender has been limited to Carling Cup appearances this season and has stated his desire to leave the north London club.

The deal will be finalised “in the next 48 hours”, according to Everton.

The Merseyside club are looking to add to their defensive options following the departure of Lucas Neill to Turkish club Galatasaray.

“Everton and Arsenal have agreed a deal to bring Swiss international defender Philippe Senderos to Goodison Park,” a statement on Everton’s site read.

“The formalities of the transfer will be finalised in the next 48 hours and Senderos will be on Merseyside this afternoon to watch his new team in action against Birmingham in the FA Cup fourth round.”

Senderos joined the Gunners in 2003 for £2.5m from Swiss side Servette, making 117 appearances.

However, he has fallen out of favour with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and was loaned out to AC Milan last season. (BBC Sport)

This is a good move all round. Philippe Senderos was in danger of stagnating on the bench at the Emirates and could well do a good job at Everton who do not have the most stable of defences. This loan move could well turn out to be a permanent one if the Swiss International impresses.

On that note it appears that Arsene is going to break one of his golden rules to keep another defender at the club. Word is that Arsenal will offer William Gallas a two year deal as opposed to the standard Wenger style one year extension to players over 30. On this occasion I think that breaking the rule makes perfect sense.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed talks to secure Arsenal defender William Gallas on a new contract are progressing well.

Gallas’ current deal expires at the end of the season and the 32-year-old has been in negotiations regarding an extension at Emirates Stadium.

Wenger recently admitted that he could relax his policy of only offering one-year deals to players over 30, with reports suggesting Gallas is in line for a two-year contract.

An agreement has yet to be reached, but Gunners boss Wenger appears optimistic that the centre-half will stay in North London.

“Yes, it’s going well,” said Wenger.

“Let’s keep the negotiations confidential. If we get to a conclusion, we will let you know.

“At the moment, I think it’s better we don’t talk about it. (Sky Sports)
