Arsenal favourites to sign teenage sensation Victor Moses from Crystal Palace

Manchester City have been trying to sign the 19-year-old forward but it is understood that the player would prefer to move to the Emirates.
Arsène Wenger is an admirer of the player and has been monitoring him closely this season. Moses, who has also attracted the attention of Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid, is one of the most promising talents in the country and has represented England at U16, U17, and U19 level.

While City could offer Moses more money, Wenger’s record of developing young players makes Arsenal the preferred destination.
With Jack Wilshere, Fran Merida, Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey, Wenger has assembled a group of players that could dominate English football over the next 10 years. Moses would complement that group perfectly.
Moses has largely played as a left winger for Palace but can play in any of the forward roles. He was born in Nigeria but moved to England at the age of 11 after his parents were murdered in racial violence.
He joined Crystal Palace’s academy soon after arriving in England but with the club in severe financial trouble they want to sell their prize asset before the window shuts. City have reportedly had a £2 million offer rejected this week, with Palace holding out for £3 million. (Daily Telegraph)

Speculation is rife that it is Arsenal, and not the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, who are now in the driving seat to sign Crystal Palace starlet Victor Moses. Even Selhurst Park boss Neal Warnock has admitted that he believes the teenager is set to leave the Championship side and this source, and others, appear to suggest that the England Under 19 international is keen to move to the Emirates.

Moses’ west London employers appear to be in a dire financial state and are therefore looking to cash in on one of their prized assets and even though the north London club have a mountain of young talent coming through Gunners boss Arsene Wenger clearly sees something about the Palace attacker that he feels he can work with.

In today’s inflated transfer market one would have thought that the selling club could command a larger fee than the £3m quoted but perhaps they have no choice but to accept what they can get and a deal seems to be in the offing before January’s transfer window closes.
